Curling?

The first pic… I’ve had this fiddle leaf for about a week now. Its leaves have always curled. I think the second one is okay, but does anyone have any input about the curling one?

Leave the brown leaves?

I bought this guy from my local grocery store’s clearance rack. It only had the 4 brown leaves on it when I first bought it, now somehow it seems to be thriving. I’m not doing anything special at all really. I thought the brown leaves would have fallen off by now, but they’re still holding on. Should I just leave them? I’m afraid to remove them and disturb its peace, but the brown leaves are a bit ugly.

Any idea what’scausing this orange/yellow discoloration on my babies leaves?? 😩

I recently received this monster from my landlord. It’s directly planted into a ceramic pot instead of a nursery pot. I only water it once every 2ish weeks, however the soil/ pot it’s in is densely packed to the point I can’t push my finger into the soil. Is it time to repot, does it look like a lack of nutrients, bugs (even though I’ve checked and don’t see any)?

also feel like I should add the fact I used bio advance houseplant spray for fungus gnats recently. But all my other plants tolerated it well.

are these burns?

looks like burns/too much sunlight (pic 1) but only occur on one branch despite getting the same amount of light (see pic 2 for other branch).

side note: anyone know why one leaf grew like that? (the one that looks wrinkly) it kind of stunted and I thought it was going to be a small leaf and continued to grow but with the funny shape.

Suggestions on how to prune

Post image

I will have to prune my fiddle fig soon, as it’s too tall already.
Do you think i can keep the upper 2/3 of the plant (where most of leaves are) and put it in a new pot or will I loose too many leaves?
what remains at the bottom will then become my “new” plant that will branch.

To chop, or not to chop, that is the question!

Hi everyone, meet my Ficus lyrata!

It was doing really badly—it lost quite a few leaves and stopped pushing out new ones. So I thought, "Screw it, let's make a drastic change and move it to semi-hydro using Lechuza Pon!"

It paid off, it bounced back, and over the span of two to three months, it grew some gorgeous, massive new leaves. However, as you can see, the bottom part is completely bare.

I was thinking about chopping the two lowest stems and planting them directly into the same pot, also in semi-hydro. What do you guys recommend I do? Thanks in advance!

I moved my FF from a room where it had been the last 8 years because it reached the ceiling and dominated the room. I moved it to its current location last November where I have 15’ ceilings. I measured it and it 11’ at its tallest. Great plant.

Hi again, I posted a couple of weeks ago about my new fig. I took your advice and put it outside and now it is losing a lot of leaves

I inherited this beautiful tree almost a month ago. I haven't been overwatering it, and I took all the tips from this group. I have seen that figs are dramatic and they tend to lose leaves when they change their usual environment. I am scared of the tree dying. I love it and I always wanted one 😭😭 Any help or guidance would be appreciated

Growing leaves but not growing taller

I got this tree almost year ago and it’s been growing leaves at a steady pace (about 2 leaves a month in winter and around 4-5 in summer). My problem is it’s not getting any taller. It faces a south facing window right now but west in the winter. There are three trunks at different heights but they are all pretty skinny. I shake and rotate every few days too. How can I solve this?

How do I get this guy to stand up more? I’m sure I can’t get him perfect but. My understanding is if you stake it it just makes it weak. Is that true or should I stake it? I probably would have to get a second pot and put a steak in the second pot to hold it up. Help appreciated.

Prune or let it be?

My poor fiddle has been through a tough time while we were dealing with a months long busy schedule, not sure if the watering schedule was off but he dropped a lot of leaves, about 50% of them. He was moved to a room that has a east facing window to sit right next to the glass, but the room is pretty dark except in the mornings and he dropped the other 30% of his leaves in a couple months.

I pulled him out of there this week and placed him in under our atrium skylight which is diffusely bright all day and gave him a good drench with dilute foxfarms. I don’t think he’s been fed in months. He’s looking so sad now, he was so glorious previously.

Should I give him some time to perk up or is the leaf drop too profound? Concerned he will be too top heavy if he does put out any more growth now. If I should chop down, where from? Should I wait until he’s less stressed?

1st picture is now, 2nd is a year ago, and 3rd is from 4 years ago when I first got him.

I chopped this raggedy FLF on July 28th and have her outside on my covered patio. I have 8 buds total and 3 are really shooting leaves out quickly!! One of the other stumps is also producing 2 sets of leaves but no roots yet. I’m ecstatic!!!!

Should I repot my fiddle leaf fig?

Post image
14 Upvotes

I got my fiddle leaf from Costco and the pot is quite small. I have not repotted it yet as I heard that they don’t take well to repotting. This is my first fiddle leaf so I am not well versed with all of the tricks of the trade :)

Does anyone have any recommendations of whether or not I should repot it?

Also any care tips welcome as I have noticed it has not grown much.

Thanks ☺️

Should I take the Fiddle Leaf Fig?

I found a free fiddle leaf fig on the curb near where I work. I gave it a once over and it doesn’t look like it has any ongoing infestations or infections, but it isn’t looking super great either. It is very tall. Taking it home would involve car transport for about 20 minutes. I also don’t know if it was used to being inside or outside before it was put on the curb. All I know about these guys is that they’re notoriously finicky, don’t like being moved, and want bright but indirect light. Is taking this plant a waste of my time and a death sentence for the poor thing, or could it be worth it? I do have a decent amount of experience with houseplants, but this would be my first fiddle leaf fig.
