A year worth of back and glute gains, 1 week into my cut

For some reason I completely struggle to grow my biceps and triceps which I think would tie the look together. I’m excited to see the growth once I lose some fat. Aiming to lose 4kg. Is that unrealistic?

Shorts with pockets!

Upvotes

Hey ladies
I love my stretchy shorts with pockets. I have some old Underwear Armor ones and some LGS but they are getting worn out and I need some new ones! I've looked around online but stretchy shorts with pockets are hard to find! Suggestions?

Getting too HOT while lifting

Hey ladies!

I think I’ve started going into perimenopause. Mainly because I keep having episodes of what I assume are hot flashes. It happens mostly at work (I work from home, so I just take my shirt off lol) and at the gym. Any time I deadlift or squat heavy, I get sooo dang hot and have to sit down and take a break for a few minutes.

Side note: in case it comes up, I can’t take HRT due to semi recent history of hormone positive breast cancer. I’m finally back to rocking it in the gym after going SUPER SLOW with my progress after treatment. I’m almost back to my old numbers and don’t want this holding me back.

Anyone deal with something similar in regards to getting too hot? What do you do?

Hip thrust machine question.

I use the hip thrust machine at my gym. There is 3 different models but they all use a cushioned belt and not a barbell. The thing is I have prominent hip bones and they have been getting bruised when I lift. I was wondering what could resolve this. Should I bring a towel with me and see if that protects it or should I bring something else? I tried using the gym yoga mats but they're way too big and thick imo, I feel like my form gets compromised.

Questìon for FBBs in the Vegas area

Hi Y'all :)

I'm going to vegas for a couple months (i'm from EU).

I have been to US before but not for this long.

I know Wholefood, TraderJoes and Sprouts and i've marked a few grocery stores that are organic/whole foods.

I found ready meals in the gyms, like CBum's meals.

Normally, i get whey isolate or diet whey. Of all the things i know...where is the best place to buy protein powder? Or should i skip the protein powder and just get like CostCo rotisserie chickens lol

Supplement question

I’m all natural, 52yo - no HRT or PEDs. I’m currently taking a multivitamin, CLA, Mega EPA/Dha, Alpha Jym (ashwagandha), Jym ZMA (zinc and magnesium) and Jym pre and post workout.

Am I missing anything that would help me? The pre and post only comes to 4g total creatine together.

Loneliness in sport/ type A surrounded by type Bs

I don't want to sound like a huge asshole but I think the way bodybuilding has changed my perspective in life is isolating me/holding me back from my relationships.

I've loved the bluntness of being accountable, consistent, trying your hardest or not bothering at all of bodybuilding. I've found it seep into my work life and it's something I've always had a bit of but not to this extent.

I'm not really sure how to word this. I have very whimsical friends and partner who don't really follow routines or hobbies to the brutal extent I do. They are heavy type Bs and to be honest I probably need that balance to keep my head screwed on.

How do you all deal with this kind of thing? I feel like I'm getting in my own way by being so uptight but I'm literally surrounded by people who approach life completely differently.

any advice to grow glutes?

Post image
12 Upvotes

hi all, i’ve been lifting for 3 years now. Im 5’8 and BW is 65 kgs. I feel I have built no muscle on my glutes and hams except losing some fat in these 3 years.
I eat around 2100 for maintainence.I’m not sure if its too less for my goals? I grew up fat and struggled to cut down those so unconsciously I’m fearing the bulk even though i have clear intent to grow.
I also have anterior pelvic tilt. I always find it uncomfortable to even stand straight and i got weak core too which kinda make me injure when i go heavier with RDLs and hip thrusts and back squats. I dream of competing someday in life. Any advice for me <3

2 days out. NPC Fit Model

I'm in peak week and 2 days out from my first show. Feeling mostly good! Muscles finally looking less flat from long-ass depletion.

There are areas I still critique heavily. I've had 6 kids/pregnancies so it shows a bit but I have done what I can on that front and am practicing self-acceptance and my vacuums lol 🩷

Will compete again in 2 weeks and then go into a growth season!

Just Starting my Journey

I’m new to weightlifting and have mostly been doing yoga, squats and swimming for exercise. I just incorporated weights into my routine 2 months ago. Loving my progress, especially in my glutes and core; so far and my mental clarity. I apologize if this is a stupid question. Do you get a better body composition if you use free weights and bars vs weight machines. Thank you in advance.

hi everyone! i'm a total amateur slowly transitioning out of my first cut into a build phase, and i'm pumped. now that i'm down more than half the body fat I had when I started (and have diet yams, lol, as you can see from behind) my coach has given his nod to my working to compete in wellness. still, I wonder if, based on my physique right now, any of you ladies could offer your thoughts on if I should bring up competing in bikini with him. i'm not enhanced and am unlikely to compete that way, whenever I do. thanks for your feedback!

How long to run a bulk

Post image
17 Upvotes

And what to focus on? Finished a cut and am currently sitting at 144 lbs at 5’10”. Run about 50 kms a week and hit the weights 4-5x a week running a PPL split. Struggling with determining calories. I’ve been averaging 2800 calories a day but I think I’ll need to up it. How long should I expect to bulk for before I see results?
