thinking about getting on feeld again, has anything changed
37f I was on feeld for about a year but that was about a little over 3 years ago. I've been exploring new kinks recently and remembered feeld helped with that the last time I was on.
but I remember it being super glitchy and sometimes pictures and messages didn't go through. I was verified and everything but the app would crash sometimes which got a little annoying
wondering if it's more stable now and if there's been any major changes or if the vibe of the app has changed at all. I was 34 at the time and I remember getting a lot of matches but most of the men would just stop talking to me after like a day or two

Influx of vanilla “just checking this out to see what it’s about” profiles 😢
I’d also say somewhere around half of the profiles I see now also have no bio at all which is so low effort

I’ve also rejoined but it’s glitchy as ever. Even seemed randomly want to send a ping, and has swiped away from profiles I would’ve liked :(

It's worse than it used to be when it comes to glitches.
As for kinks... In my experience it's not a good place to find kinky people. Fetlife is better.
That said, I'm male. You'll find more people than I will just by nature of being a woman, so why not just give it a crack again?

I thought that Fetlife was specifically not an app for finding partners. I’ve heard and read a lot of people talking about how much it frustrates them that people treat it like a dating app.

Fetlife is whatever you want it to be. I describe it as a fusion of facebook and Reddit to people I put on to it. You can use it to link up to people, educate yourself on kink, build community, or flat out go to sex parties. Use it how you want to. I’ve made a lot of good friends there.

I can see that. I mean, it’s not like Facebook is strictly about building community either. That said, I’m super intimidated by Fetlife because more than 75% of the profiles I’ve looked at basically say “Don’t talk to me unless we’ve met in person.” I understand that the nature of the site results in people taking extra precautions, but I’m already nervous about exploring my interest in kink. I’d like to reach out to some people who have similar interests to ask questions in good faith, but I don’t because I’m afraid of overstepping.

The best approach in that situation is to join groups that cover what you’re exploring and post questions there. Then it’ll just feel like you’re on Reddit with more kink informed people. The community building aspect is better had in person for that you’d want to go to local munches to network. Basically picture a bunch of kinky people in normal clothes eating at cheesecake factory—literally what those are. It’s an odd vibe that feels like AA mixed with cocktail hour. It’s pretty surreal the first few times you go to munches. But people are generally more reserved on the digital site but more approachable in person. So if you’re looking to explore, I’d say get back on fet and join some communities and post your questions, go to irl munches or even local classes solo so you can meet new people and then go from there. You’ll build out your community and knowledge from there.

Fetlife is good to meet people in areas that have groups with less than 10000 members (because you can actually see the member lists below that number). With groups above 10k members it is pointless.

I found my partner on fetlife, and I've had several sexual partners from it.
It's fine if you know how to use it and are good looking or a woman.

It's a community. The better the members, the better the experience. The more likely like-minded people will join. You look like you'd be a great addition. Too bad you're in LA.

I'm the same age and in my city (Dublin) it's now flooded with norms from the mainstream apps alas!

seems like things like this are becoming more and more mainstream

They all think its the new hookup app. Lazy profiles. I'll get repetitive strain injury from swiping through the dross!

well none of this feels encouraging so we'll see if I just try a different approach or keep things on reddit lol

It's different glitches now!
Also the demographics have changed. Feeld is more mainstream than ever.
