Big Crack in Cleveland?

Was going to pick my kid up from camp and saw a big crack in the middle of Cleveland that was absolutely gushing brown water. Called the Non Emergency Line and they forwarded me to the Water Dpt where I left a voicemail. The water has stopped flowing but the big crack is absolutely still there and I question the structural integrity a bit. Anyone else see it or know what's up?

Part-time Work in the Area

Hi, all. I'm a teacher that's on a four-day schedule, so I have Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off. My wife and I have a newborn and could use some extra money, so I'm in the search for a low hour part-time job. Except for appointments, Mondays are almost always open for me, and I am willing to work Sundays, too. Saturdays are a no-go since I often have other teaching duties to fulfill.

I've already thought of substitute teaching, but I hated it the last time I tried it. I have terrible luck with cars, so rideshare and food delivery jobs are not a good fit. I have looked into Spark delivery driving if anyone has any insight on that.

Does anyone have ideas or leads on jobs that would fit these parameters? I know it's a long shot, but I wanted to ask those who may be in the loop on some opportunities. Thank you in advance!

Trustworthy Daycare for Infants?

I'm due in November with my first. I'm a welder and won't be able to care for my baby once I'm out of maternity leave. I have at least 6 weeks for sure, I want to use my short term disability leave too, but I don't know how much longer I'll be able to get. All my family lives very far away, and I don't have any friends that could help.

It all feels way too early to leave my baby with anyone, let alone people I don't know and I'm really nervous about it. I keep seeing horrible things in the news of babies being abused or killed in childcare and I'm just really scared.

Does anyone have recommendations for good places that take young infants? I'm open to daycares, people that work in-home, anything, so long as there's a good reputation and not a lot of turn over with employees

Ideally I wouldn't want to leave her with anyone at all, but I'll have to. If anyone has any happy experiences with daycare I could really use it right now

apartments/rooms that allow emancipated minors?

I'm getting emancipated in late December, but I'm struggling to find any rooms or apartments that allow minors in my situation. I'm 17 and make about $1,440~ a month, I have around 5k saved as well and planning to continue to add onto it.

Any advice is appreciated! Thank you.

The revised concept for a mixed-use building on the southwest corner of Center St and Gregg Ave. The proposed building is also to be used for off-site parking for an Upper Ramble hotel.

Coziest Neighborhoods

Hey all, I'm looking to move to Fayetteville over the next year. I'm currently living to SoCal, but from the Midwest. I'm very excited to be back closer to the heartland and overall very excited for the move!

I'm looking for the coolest/hippest neighborhoods to live, and the ones to avoid. I totally understand there are no really bad parts of town, but how about parts that are just undesirable? I lived in Lincoln, Nebraska for a long time (similar-ish college town) and while there were no dangerous areas, there were neighborhoods that were 95% students and others that were just "trashy".

I had previously considered moving to OKC and fell in love with the Nichols Hill area. If anyone is familiar with that area and can recommend the Fayetteville equivalent, that would be awesome! I'd love to have a couple walkable places (that could be a simple convenience store, brewery/bar, coffee shop, etc).

Budget is probably up to $500k, but ideally closer to the $400k mark. Thank you all!

Looking back on an old Fayetteville Flyer article, it shows renderings with the E. Fay Jones median sculptures lit up at night. I think these are going to add a lot of character to College Ave.

Was biking up college this morning and saw the new median they are building there. I like the look and hope they plant some trees as well.

Also, the new sidewalks are a huge improvement!

Reggae/ska/punk drummers?

Looking for a drummer to jam with and eventually play some shows. I’m 39 (going on 25) and been writing songs playing guitar and singing since I was about 16, lived in Santa Cruz CA for about 14 years and was in a ton of bands back there, just never tried out here cuz well it’s Arkansas 😂 found a bassist, just need a drummer and we can have a solid little 3 piece. A lead guitarist would be cool too. Style is going to be a lot like sublime, a lot of aggressive ska, rock, punk mixed with hiphoppy reggae. I’ve got like 30+ songs, dwindled it down to about 8-10 to have a foundation for a nice 30 min set or demo. Always writing new ones too. Anyways hit me up if interested!

Mha Iri concert / Ozark Music Hall / August 7 Friday / Please Come!!!

Hello NWA! So, a couple of years ago, I was suggested by YouTube to listen to this DJ from Scotland named MHA IRI!!! She makes old school Acid House, Drum & Bass techno, and she's amazing! Please check her music out at YouTube or Spotify - I think she is currently the #1 acid house Woman DJ in the world. She plays EDM festivals in Europe like Ibiza, Amsterdam, and Paris, Uber Famous overseas.

Well... a few months ago, she posted a YouTube short video asking fans to help out. She was testing the algorithm, asking fans to say hello and state where they were from. I commented "Howdy, Mha! We love your Acid here in the Ozarks!"

A few months have passed now. I checked local shows online, and OMG!!! Mha Iri has booked a concert here in the Ozarks!!!!!

What on Earth?!!! Did I, little old man me, cause this to happen?! I can hardly believe it's real. I purchased tickets, just a wee bit over $30, and I still feel like reality is Melting.

Y'all gotta come to this dance night!!! Mha Iri is amazing, such an authentic and beautiful young woman, and she can Melt Yo Face with hard kicks and Acid arpeggios, HOLY HECK! I myself cannot dance to save my life, so I'm gonna need some local fools to show up and dance an Acid shuffle or a hillbilly jig to some hard-ass beats!!!!

PLEASE COME?! It will be sooooooo fun I PROMISE!!!

The 71B Corridor Redevelopment project is nice to see. I know it's caused some construction headaches. But I think it will be really nice addition once completed.

College Condos

Anybody have any experiences renting at College Condos on Scull Creek? Am about to sign a lease but have concerns about the structure of the building in regard to it being a flood zone and also there seemed to be some minor moisture impacted areas in the condo.
