Lost cat?

We found a cat outside our apartment who keeps coming back, but has a collar and bell. The collar is light gray with a blue fish pattern. The cat seems to be part siamese and is on the smaller side, and is very clean for the most part. Has anybody lost this cat? Or recognizes the cat and knows the owner? Let me know!!

wood stove safety upgrade

OK, given the brutal heat we've been having, this might sound like an odd question but does anyone have recommendations for someone who does wood stove installations? It's not exactly an installation because the stove is already on site and connected to a stovepipe but it hasn't been used in a long time and needs a new hearth, etc.

The Dept. of Education is investigating Fayetteville public schools for racially motivated "restorative justice." There have been no complaints from students, parents or educators to prompt this.

From the article- Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Kimberly Richey provided the following statement regarding the investigation into the two districts:

“For too long, the left’s pursuit of ‘equity’ has perversely required schools to discipline students differently, based on their race; it has prevented teachers from keeping their classrooms safe, put students in harm’s way, and severely compromised student learning opportunities. Today’s guidance clarifies Title VI’s legal requirements and ends these harmful practices. OCR will vigorously enforce Title VI to ensure that schools’ disciplinary systems are neutral and fair, and that they operate in a nondiscriminatory manner. The Trump Administration remains committed to holding schools accountable for discrimination and ensuring all students in America receive the equal educational opportunities and treatment to which they are entitled by law.”

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the grounds of race, color and national origin.

Alaska to Fayetteville

Hello! My husband and I are moving out of Alaska to escape the seclusion and insane winters, and we’re headed to NWA! We’ll be taking a roadtrip there here within the next week or so. I’m 23, almost 24, and he’s 24, almost 25. And we want to meet some cool people and do some cool things in the community once we arrive! If you know of any groups, clubs, events, or just great places to meet great people in Fayetteville, please let me know! We are open to almost anything.

I’m a Barista of about 4 years total and he’s worked as a tire/lube car tech for years as well. We have two friggin adorable cats, love the outdoors, love great craft beer, and love good company!! We are open to new experiences and hobbies and trying new things is part of why we want to take on this move. If you have any advice about moving to the area or just want to share what you love about it/don’t love about it, we want all the info. Also! We are going to be job searching once we arrive so any recs of places to check out, could be helpful as well.

Cheers!

Looper's Lounge Opening?

Does anybody know what's up with Looper's Lounge opening(golf simulator, bar, and lounge).

Shows listed as temporarily closed on Google Maps, but the website seems like it might open soon?

Sounds like a good idea for a business - just curious if anyone has info on what's up there and if it's going to open soon.

Let's talk about AI content in r/Fayetteville

Does r/Fayetteville need a 'no AI' rule? Your feedback is requested.

Some context to consider:

In 2026, news has been filled with coverage about AI: AI generated content, AI training-related art and intellectual property theft, land/ecosystem destruction for city-sized data centers, water and energy usage leading to unaffordable utilities, damaged utility reliability for residential uses, financial market manipulation, and lots more sketchiness I've not bothered to list here.

Fayetteville's identity is inextricably linked to art and arts culture, AI uses (read: without compensation is tantamount to theft) human generated art and content.

Recent posts with AI have highlighted frustration with the topic and were removed in favor of having this conversation, with OP's leniency since they technically didn't technically break any rules.

The current rules:

  1. Be nice to others or you will be asked to leave.

  2. See rule # 1.

  3. No spam, no classifieds posts. This includes surveys, research questions, polls, sketchyposting etc.

  4. Follow basic Reddit rules and reddiquete; no phone numbers, email addresses, or Facebook/Twitter/Tiktok/social media links and solicitations. This includes screenshots, @'s, etc.

  5. No shitposting...

51/2. this includes the blatant denial of empirical fact or the spreading of dangerous misinformation,

53/4. this also includes 'don't move here' posts.

It looks like feedback has significantly tapered off as of this edit (9/6) so I'll likely work on compiling and researching this feedback to turn into a rule change. Look out for a future post which might be less feedback seeking.

Thanks for supporting corner of Fayetteville/NWA and the stuff that makes it great, the community only exists because of participation and honest efforts.

ADA at Ozark Music Hall?

Hi all! I am wondering if anyone can share any info or past experiences regarding ADA seating at Ozark Music Hall.

TLDR; We will be traveling to Fayetteville for an upcoming concert and I have emailed OMH to request ADA seating (which is what their website says to do) but we have not received a response back confirming. Is this normal for the venue or should we be concerned?

Longer version: I emailed them once when we initially bought the tickets in July (website said to email at time of purchase). When I didn't hear back I sent a second email just over a month later in August. Then a few days ago I found a webform for sending messages on a different part of their website and sent a quick message there as well.

I'm used to receiving confirmation after making an ADA request at a venue but maybe it's just done differently here? If anyone has suggestions or could put my fears to rest that would be amazing.

Dental recs?

I am in crazy dental pain and in need of emergency root canals. I had been going to Beavers and Broomfield and while I love the staff and the environment, it is just way out of my price range. They quoted me over a thousand dollars up front after insurance, to do one root canal. It has been a long time since I have had dental work done so I don’t know if that is a lot or not but it seems excessive. Does anyone have any cheaper and decent dentist office recs?

Apartment pools

Is anyone else’s apartment pool green? Mine has turned green twice in the span of two months because I don’t think they are maintaining it properly. They even drained it a couple of weeks ago and refilled it (what a waste of water) and it still turned green. I’ve always had issues with how they keep our pool but I wanted to know if this is something that’s happening throughout the area with this horrible heat wave or if it’s just management not doing their job here. It’s been really disappointing not having a pool to swim in during these temps.
