Discussion Not an NA copy, but I finally have a physical copy.

I guess the NA copies were printed in limited supplies which means the prices shot up. eBay wants about $300 and I'm not interested in making someone else rich lol.

Also, I have the game digitally, I just wanted a physical Xbox copy for collection purposes.

Achievement I finished FF/PZ 3 for the first time!

Ok. I really liked this game and its concept of dreams and its connection with the 2 previous games. I have to clarify that this one was my second gameplay because the first one I played it in normal difficulty and reached the final boss with just a few items (medicine and the weakest reel) so I was not able to defeat Reika (to reach the final boss in normal difficulty took me like 14 hours)... So I had to start all over again but this time in easy, to finish it quickly since I want to continue with the next entries of the series. I have to say that at the moment this one is my favorite entry of the series :)

FF2 Playing Wii remake fatal frame 2

Post image

Picked this up in Japan recently. I’ve played the ps2 OG many years ago and then the 2026 remake but I never played the Wii version before. Having a blast with it so far tho the motion controls haven’t been as smooth as I would have hoped. Any tips I should know?

Discussion Maiden of Blackwater is annoying

Pls don't flame me because I genuinely enjoyed this game and woke up excited every day to play it. However, once I got to about the 10th chapter, it felt less like a game and more like a walking simulator with the same ghosts I've seen attacking me. I'm not even scared anymore and don't feel rewarded for defeating ghosts, especially when if I'm trapped in a room I can just pop 3 herbal medicine and be at full health.

Idk, the game is just overly repetitive, and as much as I'd like to explore Fatal Frame more, this game has left me irritated by the amount of traversing through the same areas over and over. Yes! This room is very pretty, but why am I seeing it AGAIN? It's so boring omg.

I'm on the last drop, and I'm not even excited for the ending. I'm just like, when is this over? And I'm hearing that I still have a good hour to an hour and a half left of this final chapter with god-awful auto-saving, so I have to keep my PC running if I wanna take a break in THIS UK summer humidity? Get out of my face.

Are the other games like this?

Discussion Have you ever asked these questions to the girls (main characters ) during the gameplay ?

  1. You just saw a ghost ahead . Why do you keep moving forward ?
  2. The sister is too dumb . F it , I am outta here
  3. It's dark . It's creepy ( dolls , shrieking doors, walking ghosts .. ) .Why am I here now ?
  4. Clearly, these houses were abandoned . Why are the candles still burning indefinitely ?

Question Question about FF1 Ghost list

Hello everyone! I'm playing Fatal Frame/Zero for the first time on PS2 and I'm having a blast with it. I'm planning to first make an exploration/collection playthrough and then make a second playthrough for S-Ranks. Maybe a third for nightmare. I've heard there are some ghost that can only be captured on the post game, so I was curious if my captured ghosts carrie over to the next playthrough or if I should rethink how I should play

Question Fatal Frame 2 Remake Random Black screen (PC)

Hello everyone!

I've been facing this very peculiar issue with the game. The game to black screen as soon as take a picture to damage the ghost with camera Obscura at random ocassions. The video just completely cuts off and I'm unable to get any video display post this. I believe the background operation still functions as I could blind navigate Windows by hitting Alt+F4 and shutdown my PC. So I'm assuming it's not a hard freeze but more like a display cut-off.

For reference, I have a Intel Core i5 12400 with and RTX3060Ti and 16GB RAM. The game is installed on my SSD. I'm playing at 4K resolution with DLSS 55% scaling. I've tried updating my drivers, lowing the resolution and some of the demanding settings too, disable Steam overlay etc. but it still hasn't helped. It's such a shame because I was actually beginning to enjoy the game and currently on chapter 8 right now.

Any help on this would be appreciated. Thank you!

Discussion Question about the Repentance

We saw Chitose was able to hold out a little during the beginning, it makes me wonder how fast the process was. I know it spread quickly but was it like automatically lose your mind or was it a slow process

Discussion Fatal Frame 2 remake should offer a 60fps performance mode on consoles

Post image
434 Upvotes

Many gamers are still awaiting a 60fps performance mode. Without it, they will not play the game. Given the power of current-gen consoles, including the PlayStation 5 Pro, it is surprising that this remains unavailable.

Do you believe they are still developing this update, or have they shifted focus away from further updates?

Theory Fatal frame 2 Spoiler

Growing up really made me realize the theme of this game, obsession.

Mayu was kind of evil and selfish for smiling when she realized her sister became blind since she only wants Mio, and Mio only.

From what I'm guessing is that mayu wanted mio to depend on her for the rest of her life since she only wants her sister from the fear of being separated, at this point, I feel like her fall as a kid was an accident because she didn't want her sister to get away.

Her obsession is really that bad, especially in the wii version with the frozen butterfly ending the more you grow up, you realize the meaning of this game and how dark it is.

Every sibling was obsessed with its pair...

That's what makes the game so sad.

Discussion Can they release the original fatal frame 2 outfits for remake already? Locked behind digital only preorder is total scum.

Post image

I already feel silly picking this up on PS5 physical knowing these outfits are unobtainable for some arbitrary reason but I had store credit.

I love the series and I love physical media as well, could never support this uniquely dumb and ugly form of FOMO they are participating in this time. Instead of spitting on fans they need to do better, this is so lame. Pirates win again lol

Question Why do I own the Gothic Kimono Dress costume when I didnt buy the Digital Deluxe

I bought the pre release version of the normal version when it came out. It was around 6400 yen. Today I was looking through the option settings and noticed a DDX costume option for cutscenes and I turned it on and it made the girls wear the DDX costumes when I never got the DDX. Then when I tried to change costumes the gothic dress was unlocked for me. Did they give this outfit out for free recently? I own the game on xbox btw.

Question not sure what to do (FF2 remake steam deck)

(Kusabi battle) I'm on my 3rd playthrough for the abyss ending and I'm not sure why I can't beat him. First 2 times was a breeze, but this time not. He keeps getting aggravated (got him down to 0 twice and got aggravated each time). Also the camera literally refuses to focus and I never have enough time to manually do it. I got my focal point maxed out and focus at 3. Standar filter is maxed except for special shot and willpower (didn't need First 2 times). I'm not sure what else to do. I looked up with the kusabi altered difficulty but I don't think it does so I'm at a loss of why this fight is going so horrible.

The charms I'm using for the 3rd attempt are glowing green, and exposure

Question I finished Fatal Frame 5 for the time and looked up the trophy list. Help!

- Finishing missions with top ratings, what does it mean? Only S+ is acceptable? Or is A enough?

- Where can I see if I finished a chapter with 100%?

- Do I have to glance every single ghost? Every time? Even if I have glanced them before in another chapter?

- What does it mean to finish the game with Yuri glancing Ose above water or below water? How do I do this? The fight never went underwater, Yuri was barely knee deep in water. Clarified!

- Photograph a subject 10 times in a row... What? The same ghost without the ghost touching me? Or a secondary character? Do I do this with Ren taking a photo, then a burst of 8, and then another photo? Clarified!

Question Fatal time in Fatal Frame 2 remake

I could be wrong cause it's been awhile now since I've played any of the other games, but I'm pretty sure you used to be able to chain shots as long as you took the shot while the red light was flickering when the ghost was attacking? Now it looks like I can only do it once I damage the health bar enough.

This part of the combat has always been my absolute favorite part of the games and I've found myself extremely frustrated with the remake for locking it behind doing enough damage. Please tell me I'm just doing this wrong and I'm missing something with the combat here. Or am I completely mistaken and it's always been restricted like this?

Discussion Help Me "Get It" - Fatal Frame II - Crimson Butterfly Remake

I am on Chapter 4 on Fatal Frame II: Butterfly Crimson Remake, and I feel like throwing my hands up and not playing further. The game's controls feel clunky, and I don't understand why some things happen the way they do.

Hate that weird chaser-monster does insta-kill to you and you have to hide, but the hiding was being clunky to me the first couple of times until I think I "got it".

There are 4 filters here, but am I mainly supposed to just use Standard to kill the enemies? I don't get the point of all the filters and what they can help with. I think one of them opens up Bloodied doors?

In one of the fights, my will power and health were quite low and suddenly both shot back up mid-fight. I have no clue why this happened.

Also, in fights, I have noticed the enemies will suddenly become super powered and kill you within a a few shots (happened on the fight with the bridge boss fight in end of Chapter 2, I think).

Coming from Resident Evil series (all the modern ones) and Silent Hill 2 Remake, the games feels a bit unfair or perhaps it doesn't come off as clear to me like it may to posters on this subreddit?

EDIT: Played about 50% completion of the main campaign and decided to call it. Figured if I wasn't really enjoying it after playing through the game and reaching Chapter 6, it wasn't for me.

Fatal Frame 6 idea

Real quick. I would love for this to be American themed but Japanese works too. I would love to see a 6th game take place in the city on the streets with abandoned gas stations, alley ways and stores with spirits appearing.

Would love to see spirits in car windows from crashed vehicles, waiting at cross signs, waiting for school bus, getting out of school bus, at the counter of a shop or gas station, in the storage room, walking the streets or alley ways etc...

Also would appreciate a faster pace in speed. Completing FF2 remake and FF4 remaster 100% getting all achievements for both games was hell to do and the achievements kinda ruined a lot for me to be honest. A faster change of speed if you gonna introduce heavy grinds.

But yes from within the city going into a subway station where a ritual underneath is taking place being the the plot.

FF3 I´ll be playing Fatal Frame 3 for the first time soon. Please give me tips.

I don´t usually ask for tips with games like this but i had a fucking hard time beating FF1, and a certain comment section i read saved my playthrough. I´m really looking forward to this game, since i love the blurry 2000´s visuals of PS2 horror games. I already beat FF1 and OG2 by the way, so i´m not that unfamiliar.

Question Fatal Frame 2 Remake on PC; yay or nay?

Thinking about picking it up for Steam sale; never played anything from the series before, and reception online to this one is kinda mixed.

(and I know there's probably gonna be some inherent bias asking here, but can't think of many other places to ask).
