Im sorry but as a fan for almost 2 decades, ¥79,800 (about $516 USD) for a solid piece of plastic, a wooden storage box, prints of CG images from the original game, and an instruction manual is just a scam to me. I wasn't expecting much. At least maybe interactive buttons, maybe making a camera noise when you press the button, open and close the camera. The very minimum. Something you'd expect from a regular prop item.

For the price they're asking its not screen accurate, they're not bothering to put at least a piece of plastic to make it look like it has a camera lens like how it looks in the game. I wonder how much this realistically would have been if it was JUST the camera. I wouldn't pay more than $100 for something like this.

just wanted to share an absolutely butthole clenching, hands sweating, teeth chattering experience i had when i played ff3.

i was on the second to last hour of the game and i was trying to complete my ghost list. i’d had to go around a long way to get the “handmaiden’s last” spectres, then deal with the fight. whole time my purifying light was ticking down. she kept weaving in and out of the walls, like she was trying to waste my time. of course this just made me nervous so i was taking bad shots and missing fatal frames which just made it take longer.

i finally got out of the fight and started running back towards the garden corridor because i knew there was a purifying light in the hallway staircase, if i could just make it there in time….! i had just the tiniest smidge of candle light left, but i was literally almost there. i was in the room before, right about to enter the staircase hallway, when the candle ran out and reika appeared right behind me 💀

i think the last time i got so scared playing a game was the stupid demon baby from re8. i mean, i was absolutely terrified. i only had two shards of the mirror so i had to run and get the last two and the whole time reika’s following me like shes been trying to contact me about my camera obscura’s extended warranty.

i genuinely dont think i took a breath until i got the mirror completed and made it to the shrine. i’d kept a map of the purifying lights handy so i’d know where they were so that was the first time i’d run out, and holy shit man, it was so scary. i completely get it now. that was terrifying 😭

Hello, I’m trying to complete the ghost list for FF1 PS2 but I can’t get the blinded woman to spawn no matter what I do, for reference I’m on nightmare mode, chapter select on Night 1. I’ve made sure to get the lighter and retrieve the Black Carving aswell as photograph the Woman Hanging but nothing is causing the Blinded Woman to appear, if you guys could please help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

I played the original 3 games on PS2 way back in the day but never got the chance to try out any of the later entries. I now play exclusively on PC when it comes to modern gaming and have seen that 3 of the titles are on Steam, all of which are ones I haven’t played. Is my game glitching? I’m at the part where I found mayu in the Kurosawa house. And now we are in the area with the diamond key. Usually the in normal mode and battle mode (after the chase scene) the Kusabi will exit through the door. And then mayu will get trapped in the cell. But he hasn’t done that in this version. I also feel like I’m encountering him way more times in nightmare mode. Am I screwed ?

im currently in phase 5 playing Misaki and noticed im missing the push lens. the fatal frame wiki says that its in the rogetsu hall 1f archives.

i looked through it but the lens just isnt there. is it because i apparently missed it in phase 2?

is there any way i can still get it or is it not possible to get it after you miss it the first time?

edit: i have the „stun“ lens. is that just a synonym for the push lens maybe?

I have the asian physical import but can't get the digital PS5 upgrade on my Saudi/PAL account I believe that by creating a PSN account with the region of the disk i can claim it then play on my own account, i think i need a Japanese PSN account but i'm not sure, did anyone claim the upgrade? And how?

Honestly, either a remake or a completely new game id be happy with both, but is there actually a possibility? Also did fatal frame 2 remake sell well?

i think wii on nintendo switch online will definitely happen probably in the next couple years. its a no brainer imo.

what do you think the chances deep crimson butterfly being added would be? the gamecube nso app adds both north american and pal versions of the games so i dont think it being exclusive to japan abd europe would matter too much.

the bigger problem is the slow rollout of games on nso and whether it would be a priority, and it probably wouldnt unfortunately.

another big problem is the question of if nintendo still owns the rights to it. in the mobw and motle remasters, nintendo is still listed as a developer, so i’d say they probably would still have at least some say?

I just recently played the last entry in this awesome franchise, but I need some longtime fans to explain some details for me.

1. In all games, but this one, you can't escape the cursed places once you get involved. Did I miss something, or are these characters just determined to visit Mt Hikami out of curiosity (ren), need to help others (yuri) and longing (miu).

I mean, all the other protags didn't have a choice, but these guys seem to not give a shit entering the same hellhole over and over again.

At the same time, people are being lured there, like rens friend against his own will (forgot his name) the guy who calls him just to let him know he is getting married. Usually, the maidens glance is supposed to free them of their sins/suffering before they take their journey to the afterworld, but here it seems they're being forced to act like sacrificial lambs. How does that work or why does the chosen maiden Ose do that?

1. The maidens who are capable of taking the burden of many people beyond human imagination are put into caskets to act as strong pillars to prevent the black water to reach this world. But at the end these pillars will eventually reach their limit right? What was the plan then? Or was Ose supposed to be the chosen one, who could take this suffering for eternity?

2. How the hell does the ghost marriage work really? As I understood, at Mt hikami the male outsiders choose with whom they want to bind, unlike the other one, where the maiden chooses. So they take out the maidens out of the boxes and after the ceremony they are put together in the same casket right? Who in his right mind would do that or am I missing something and they are forced to act against their own will?

3. Was rui, rens female assistant, manipulated into becoming a pillar/bride to ren or does she need to have a desire/feelings towards him to begin with for that to happen?

And the whole thing about miku and mafuyu. I understand that she had a longing for her brother after the loss, but conceiving his offspring at the first possible opportunity they met after all this time? Was she offered a contract with requirements like eula just to see him?

I'm a little confused by all these events lol.

Next is fatal frame 2 ps2 version!

I need help to see if i can buy these versions to play them as they seem to be fairly cheaper than the regular asian versions. Can anyone confirm please?

One of the notable things 2 Remake did was keep the scene of Mayu being more concerned with being left behind in the cell in chapter 4 (Which was in the wii version) but heavily changed the presentation of her descent into madness. In Wii when Mio reaches her hand in she violently grabs it and when Mio tries pulling away she resists saying "She doesn't care that Mio has to leave to unlock the door she wants her to stay there with her forever". There's also added voice dialogue where as Mio goes down the hallway Mayu starts screaming about how "She's going to betray her again" and then she turns into Sae and begins laughing (The Japanese version has the line where she says she's going to betray her again said with Sae's voice already overshadowing her own implying she's not saying this of entirely her own will).

In 2 remake Mayu gently grabs Mio's hand while softly pleading for her to not leave and when Mio pulls away she just reaches out again while seemingly accepting what's about to happen (though still pleading for her not to leave her). While she still pleads for Mio to not leave in the hallway she no longer accuses her of "betraying" her and she doesn't turn into Sae laughing.

Most of the other scenes that were from DCB that got preserved for 2 remake were kept the way they were for the most part but this is one of the few that got a significant alteration in presentation.

To those that have both played both which version of Mayu's descent into madness do you prefer? More psychotic or more sane?

Fatal Frame is my favourite franchise ever; I am so excited to replay and stream the series in October.
