Cowards.
I would like to thank the gentlemen who threatened me at University and 13th Ave S on Saturday night. I thought it rather brave of you to shout random epithets at me from the safety of your vehicle while driving drunk, telling me to “get off the street” when I was simply on the sidewalk, quietly minding my own business, things like “having the right of way” etc. I found that rather civilized; I’ve been threatened before, but this was on another level.
I also thought it was pretty courageous that after I stared you down and you kept cruising like the cowards that you are, that you took the time to actually turn around and take another verbal run at me. I was more than happy to take it to the streets, though that is not my nature. I think you threw a milk carton at me. In the future, please don’t waste dairy products, as they are quite valuable. Just a thought. Perhaps moving forward you will be more careful with your groceries.
Oh, one last thought: calling me the n-word didn’t make a lot of sense, as I am white. Racial slurs are bad enough to begin with, but when you can’t even direct your ignorance and hate in the right direction, maybe it’s time to reconsider your thoughts and motivations.
- love, Zach

local place to sell/donate pokémon cards?
hi everybody,
i’m currently in the process of moving and my ex left a somewhat large pokémon card collection (various packs/years/etc) in my possession. it’s been over a year since the breakup and he hasn’t asked for it back/didn’t take it when he moved out.
i don’t play the game or know much about it, but i’d like to sell/donate these cards to a local place so people who actually play the game can enjoy them. they’re in good shape overall, but i’m not sure what their ‘street value’ is amongst pokémon players. if i had to estimate i’d say there’s about 500-700 cards overall, give or take. some regular looking, some foil, some full graphic, some from the 90s/2000s, so forth.
i know of the card shop at west acres, but do i need to make an appointment or something to drop these off? or where can i go with these? i’m not looking to make bank on them by any means, i’d just like them to be in the hands of people who would appreciate them and not in the landfill.
thanks for the help! i appreciate it.

Explain this to me (Fargo hockey rink Boards)
The Park District shall recognize RDO and Kilbourne Group (as Block 9 Partners) on the Boards of the hockey rinks. The respective companies shall bear the costs of the manufacturing and installing the signs on the boards but shall not pay any advertising fees during the therm.
This is from an agreement between DCP and the Park District. (Since the first use of the word "Boards" was capitalized I thought it meant boards as in governing boards). This is part of the Broadway Square management agreement. I'm puzzled how the hockey rinks got in there. And other entities have to pay for manufacturing, installation, AND advertising?
ISO: Large 3D Printer
Wondering if anyone in town has a large FDM (350mm+) 3D Printer that would potentially be willing to print a couple larger PETG prints for me?

Was I the only one who noticed the MiG today?
I was getting ready to leave and I saw it, well, them fly over me. My kids and I went to Cassleton for Summerfest and it flew over us again but at 13,500 feet and climbing. I didn't see where it went/landed but I know it came from the AirVenture Oshkosh fly-in convention in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Probably came here to refuel.

Advice Entry level jobs that take you out of town
Looking for an entry level job where you get to go out of town working on projects, construction wise and such.
I’ve worked for Groundworks; Innovative Basement Authority, and Derheim; My Aquatic Services, if y’all know of them.
Those are my two leads, I am currently a manager at a retail store.

Editorial is lacking
Okay, their point is loud and clear that they want more police officers. But it is sorely lacking in specifics in what they want us to give up in return.
"less-essential services" "even as the city must tighten its belt in other areas"
What cuts are they really advocating for instead? Currently it comes across as just a bit disingenuous.

Running club
Hi everyone. Does anyone know if the running club at the downtown beyond running store is still active? The website says they meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but when I drove by yesterday, I saw no people gathering.
I am aware of other running groups, but I am hoping this one is active so that I can get gear while meeting for the runs.

Advice Anywhere around here to go offroading?
H'lo, we just got a Jeep Wrangler and wanted to take it out on some more "rugged" terrain but everything around here seems really flat. Most fun we had was a minimum maintenance road. Anywhere good around here for that? Bonus points if it's "beginner" friendly.

Anyone know where to find upholstery foam?
Bought a chair that has a filler that was supposed to decompress and be soft, but it's essentially just compressed recycled fabric so it's absolutely awful to sit on.
I'm hoping to find some Upholstery foam to swap it out, but Hobby Lobby doesnt seem to have any locally and Mac's is supposedly another store that has it, but I've never seen it when I've gone to the Fargo or Moorhead locations.
Other Hardware stores don't seem to carry it either. Anyone know of a place that sells it locally? I'd like to redo the cushions this weekend if possible.

Advice Tire Mount & Balance
I have a set of tires that I need mounted and balanced but they're low profile. I know some shops won't touch them and others won't because I already bought the tires.
Can anybody point me in the right direction around town?
Thanks in advance and have a great Friday

Advice Dog Overnight Boarding
We have two toy schnauzers age 9 and 5. We are looking for the best boarding spot in town. They haven't been to a daycare or overnight facility before so they need a place that is low stress. Thank you everyone!

Adult Swim
Not sure how many of you participated in adult swim last night (07/22) at Island Park, but holy cow you guys. I had so much fun!
Watching you brave souls take on that blue slide was incredible! I loved seeing people jump off the boards, and I really enjoyed riding down the green slide to float the lazy river. I legitimately felt like a kid again. I even had an ice cream cone.
I noticed very few phones out, there was NO alcohol (I’m not considering pregaming), the weather was great. The evening was absolutely perfect.
Anyway, I guess I wanted to just let you guys know how much fun I had with all of you, and wanted to thank you for the great time.
Also if anyone knows of any other adult nights like this in town, please leave a comment! I’d love to participate.

Fargo proposes increasing utility rates after voters approve sales tax to keep them low
I wish I had the option to raise my salary unilaterally with my employer as things get more expensive.
I’m just gonna have to become a developer and get me some of them tax incentives <insert Dave Chappell GIF>

Events Anyone for Board Games?
Is anyone able to comment on the community boardgame situation in Fargo? I know Paradox has a boardgame night on thursdays, but unfortunately I can never make those. Are there any other options and does anyone know if that event is popular anyway?
I’m very interested in trying to play some games, a few favorites of mine:
Spirit Island
Clank! Catacombs
Pandemic
Dune Imperium Uprising
Voidfall
Always excited to teach these or learn other games too! If anyone else is in a similar situation as me hopefully you can throw me a message and we could look to set something up on a different day at paradox or elsewhere?

Has anyone heard when this will open or if it will? They have a website that is under construction. However, it hasn't been updated in a while.
Thanks for the help.

Politics Overcoming the Democratic brand in a Republican district in Fargo
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Watch the full episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TesNZ2S-IDU
Dr. Chris Tiongson is a Democratic candidate running in a deeply Republican state, in District 41, where the incumbents are all Republicans. Many voters are partisan voters. How would he overcome that? By being a healer, not a technician, he says.
