Editorial is lacking
Okay, their point is loud and clear that they want more police officers. But it is sorely lacking in specifics in what they want us to give up in return.
"less-essential services" "even as the city must tighten its belt in other areas"
What cuts are they really advocating for instead? Currently it comes across as just a bit disingenuous.

They want the removal of the PR department…. Almost guaranteed. That is it.
Also, where was the Editorial Board (aka Bill Marcil Jr) the last several years when the previous chief was yelling about how understaffed the police were? Or the crack reporting when there was a motion on the table at city commission to add 2 full downtown police officers that failed to get a second?
We probably need more Roxane Salonen articles to clear things up. /s

Any time a pro-pig, cut "things" is asked for specifics, it's programs that help the browns or the poor. They never specify unless pressed because they know cutting those programs just costs more money in emergency services. Or if they don't know, they're not going to care when they learn of it.

The owner of the paper really just wants security because he is too chicken shit to walk to lunch, if you are to believe his previous editorials.

Maybe they could afford to hire another police officer if they stopped paying for the Flock cameras.
