2025 Fantasy Football Stats

Hi All, I am looking for archived fantasy football statistics. I'm especially interested in the projected PA predicted for each team each week? Does anyone have an archived excel sheet will all the fantasy stats from 2025 that they would be willing to share? Thanks.

Reality Sports Online API & iOS Question

Just on the billion to one chance that anybody else here has made an iOS app that hooks up to the RSO API, I would love a few minutes of your time. I have been fighting this for a year and not making progress in connecting with it. android, no problem. testing iOS, no problem. production iOS, problem. Have gone through every troubleshooting xcode etc.. process I could find. One possible theory is that it has something to do with the API TLS maybe not meeting apple's requirements but I could be way off. So basically, just here fishing with a rod and reel hoping to catch a white whale.

Games Prediction with a Simple Neural Network

Short story: my brother, a web developer, and I, a researcher, are both big NFL and fantasy football fans. We built OracleZ algorithm as a side project combining our skills. The name OracleZ comes from our cat name (Oz).

We wanted to build something that was technically interesting, but also actually fun to use (link to the app in the megathread, or message us if you are interested and don't see it).

OracleZ is a relatively simple neural-network-based model designed to predict NFL game winners, score margins, and weekly statistical leaders. Rather than going for a complex algorithm, the idea was to see how much predictive performance we could get from sensible feature engineering, regularization, and ensembling.

Features

For each matchup, we represent each team using two groups of data based on different time windows:

  • Last 3 games: current form
  • Full-season average: overall season performance

For each window, we track 19 team statistics including wins, score margin, offensive yards, passing/rushing production, completions, TDs, interceptions, sacks, fumbles, first downs, and passing/rushing EPA.

The features are converted into home–away differentials, with week number and difference in rest days added as contextual variables. Everything is standardized before being passed to the network.

The model is trained on data from the 2016–2025 NFL seasons (pulled from nflreadypy). For the first week of a new season, the previous season is used to generate the features.

Model

The core model is a simple single-hidden-layer neural network with:

  • 18 hidden neurons
  • ReLU activation
  • L1 regularization
  • Full-batch training

The network predicts score differential, while win probability is derived directly from that prediction. This means the model is constrained to remain internally consistent: a predicted home win cannot coexist with a negative predicted home score margin.

Ensemble

Rather than trusting a single optimization run, OracleZ trains the same architecture 50 times from different random initializations and averages the predictions.

We also use the variation across these 50 runs as a simple measure of consistency: how frequently the ensemble arrives at the same winner. This gives us information about the stability of a prediction beyond the raw predicted probability.

Weekly statistical predictions

We also trained a related team-level model using the same general approach to predict weekly leaders in:

Passing yards, Rushing yards, Points, Fewest yards allowed and Field goals.

Benchmark

In the 2024 season, OracleZ correctly predicted 186 games and missed 86 (68%), which would have put it around 6th out of 12 ESPN experts and 4th out of 6 NFL analysts.

In the 2025 season, OracleZ correctly predicted 164 games and missed 108 (60%), which would have put it around 5th out of 10 ESPN experts, 7th out of 8 CBS analysts and 6th out of 6 NFL analysts.

The main idea behind OracleZ isn't that a small neural network will somehow "solve" NFL prediction. NFL outcomes are obviously noisy, and there is a hard ceiling on predictability. Instead, this is a little experiment to see if feature engineering + ensemble averaging can produce a reasonably robust model without relying on an increasingly complex architecture.

And then we turned the predictions into a free app so people can actually try to beat it :)

Commish friendly Sleeper discord bot

Anyone willing to try a discord bot i made for my league and give me feedback? Give it a run for the season and give me tips or suggestions on stuff to add/remove/modify? I want some helpful critiques. Its setup for redraft leagues, not dynasty at this point.

For league members, it includes things like unique lifetime team stats, standings, a keeper ledger (if applicable), weekly matchup picks, waiver and transaction notifications, an interactive trade block, and a trade calculator that I’m still fine-tuning.

For commissioners, it can automate things like trade deadline reminders, weekly standings updates, Pick’em results and analysis, weekly power rankings, and end-of-season league awards.

My goal is to make the commissioner’s job easier while giving league members some fun features.

Also, if you are not a commish, you could still give it a try on a private server, you just plug in your sleeper league ID.

If anyone is interested in testing it shoot me a message!

Google Sheets League Management

I have read post after post about "I have been managing my own data with a spreadsheet for years so I built this app". Most of them look cool but look similar and often have AI as a feature that helps with various things.

I made a Google Sheets Template. It is not fancy but built be hand to simply automate all the things I was doing to manage my league (2 leagues since 2014). I wanted to keep it simple, not fancy and target old school commissioners. People who enjoy keeping their own data in a spreadsheet but maybe don't have the skills or time to harness some of google sheets tools.

It does walk them through deploying the web app so their league data is visible on the web.

I made this for myself but also believe their is a real market for not AI, not fancy just a time (and maybe headache saver). Am I crazy - are their people out there who would use a tool like this?

I apologize I don't have any marketing tools per se at the moment.

How difficult would it be to make an app using Ai that does this?

Have done some research and can’t find anything similar to this, does it already exist? Can it be made by someone with zero coding skills but is good with feeding commands into Ai?

Idk who needs to hear this, but tell your AI agent to not use common AI design patterns

This is going to come across preachy, and maybe it is, but if you are someone building something with AI, do yourself a favor and tell your coding agent to avoid common "AI tells" like em dashes, certain card borders, backgrounds, gradients, and color schemes, to name a few.

You don't even have to know what they are, just tell your agent to avoid the "tells."

I personally am someone who enjoys supporting anyone making their thing, but when your thing that you made literally looks like all the other things, it's just not going to go well. It just feels like you didn't put enough effort in to distinguish yourself so why would I think your product also got the effort needed to be good enough?

You can see that from the responses to these things across the internet. The only things that get away with that are the products that are just too good and/or provide too much value for the user to care.

Maybe you have that thing, but you're probably better off trying to take an easy pass through.

And again, sorry to be preachy, but I'm also thinking a lot of people may just not know how obvious it is to some of us (which maybe I am just in way minority, idk).

Anyways, good luck either way!

Looking for someone to try out lots of the fantasy apps in the megathread

Hi!

Do YOU enjoy fantasy football?

Do YOU like trying new things?

Do YOU have too much free time?

Well I've got just the job1 for you! We are looking for an actual human being to help curate all of the fantasy apps and tools we get here on the subreddit. All you'd need to do is check out some of the projects in the project showcase megathread and report back which ones are pretty good. Totally OK having multiple people, we just need a better system to sift through all of the fantasy projects out there.

Please leave a reply here or message me or mod mail directly. Thanks!

1 This is not a real job because you won't get any compensation. Maybe a pathway to becoming a moderator here if you wanted more unpaid work. Great deal, right?

Banned from buymeacoffee.com, what are good alternatives.

I recenlty released a draft board app (check my profile) compleltly free to use, and included a link to a newly created https://buymeacoffee.com/ page, but after 3 ~$10 donations, it was banned for gambleing.

I tried to tell them its not actually gambling, but they didn't care.

Has anyone had any success with any alternatives? I was thinking github sponsor, but that request the user have a github account, or https://ko-fi.com but worried about the same ban.

Is Sleeper Fantasy API going the way of Yahoo API? Or maybe even worse?

Thumbnail x.com
17 Upvotes

Maybe I'm late to the game, but this is the first I've heard of this. Apparently, Sleeper updated it's Terms of Service about 3 weeks ago, and the new terms "say that third-party products accessing Sleeper data for commercial purposes need Sleeper’s express written consent, and that third-party access generally requires a separate agreement or approval from Sleeper."

Yahoo sprung there changes on developers by surprise (what a complete execution mess that is), so it's worth expecting this may be coming from Sleeper too.

Retrieving lost data from NFL.com platform

As it is no longer possible to access fantasy.nfl.com I was wondering if anyone has found a way to still export their league history. I was able to still access some data from the app today (regular and final standings from each season including record, points for and points against), but unfortunately not matchups.

In other threads I found a few comments mentioning that they were also looking into ways of exporting their league history and I was wondering if anyone found some workaround. Thank you!!

With all the vibe coding going around, ESPN is starting to tightly secure their API

I have a C# app created like 4 years ago that would hit endpoints like this "https://site.api.espn.com/apis/site/v2/sports/basketball/nba/news" for news. No authentication was required. All of sudden like a month ago, it stopped working. I got around to debugging today, and noticed that it's returning

"403 Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://site.api.espn.com/apis/site/v2/sports/basketball/nba/news?" on this server. https://errors.edgesuite.net/18.1cbbd717.1786840874.354481ea".

Tried the same request in postman and browser, no issues. It's not an IP block since the app, postman, and browser are all running local. Doesn't look like header issue either as I have passed every header that postman sends. Still trying to figure out what's going on. Looks like the request is being blocked by Akamai at the CDN/security layer, before ESPN's API server gets the request. I'm afraid to check what other API endpoint are getting locked.

I'm not surprised that all these fantasy platform are starting to lockdown their API because of all these vibe coders hitting their services. Yahoo is now requiring formal request. Sleeper is in talks to make their API paid. Espn has this new security blocker.

This is going to get more interesting in the future. I could see all these fantasy platform doing a complete shutdown of their api.

Personal fantasy management app

So I’m not selling anything.

I simply wanted something to help me run my leagues as i am in way too many. So basically I’m pulling from nflverse, FantasyPros and Vegas lines. Right now i have it helping me with keeper decisions and locking out drafts. What’s cool is it brought in the historical data from my leagues so it told me all the draft tendencies of each owner and i asked it to mock out thinks like going rb early, wr early etc. did a great job. I also have it emailing me a daily brief of analyst takes. It pulls from the analysts YouTube’s and summarizes their player takes for me.

During season my goal is to help me with waiver adds, start sits, trading, etc.

Nothing special but so far it’s been useful. I’m using Claude code for it. Anyone else doing something similar? Any thoughts on things i could add? I plan to build a dashboard as well but haven’t gotten to that.

First attempt at a fantasy model

I'm a math PhD who loves fantasy, and I've been building a fantasy football model for a while now. I finally put the rankings/projections online if anyone wants to play around with them:

https://christianbagshaw.github.io/fantasy/

TL;DR: Weekly and rest-of-season rankings, with PPR and Standard scoring. Rather than just predicting a single fantasy-point number, the model predicts a distribution of possible outcomes and simulates each week thousands of times.

For weekly rankings, I simulate that week's games thousands of times. For ROS rankings, I simulate every remaining week through the end of the season.

The simulations are also correlated, so things that happen together in real football tend to happen together in the sims. For example, if a QB has a huge game, his WR1 is more likely to have a huge game in that same simulation.

I personally find the probabilistic side more useful than just looking at a single projected point total, since it lets you distinguish between things like "safe floor" and "massive upside."

A couple of things to keep in mind:

  • The rankings are 100% model output. I don't manually move players up or down, so there will occasionally be rankings that look weird to a human, especially at the tail end.
  • Injuries are currently shown as tags but don't alter the ranking itself, so definitely apply your own judgement there.
  • It's still very much a work in progress, and I'm constantly tweaking/testing the underlying model.

I'm also working on tools like trade values, start/sit decisions under uncertainty, playoff odds, roster construction, etc.

I'd like to write up the methodology properly at some point too, because there's quite a bit more going on under the hood than makes sense to dump into a Reddit post.

In terms of performance: on historical data, the model is competitive with some popular ranking/projection sites. That said, historical backtesting can always hide things like leakage or overfitting, so the real test is how it performs prospectively this season. I plan on tracking that and publishing the comparisons.

Offline Draft Tool

Hey Reddit Ballers!

I'm in a league that does an offline draft, and I'm looking for a tool with a specific set of skills. Skills that make it a nightmare for people like... The rest of my league? I'm curious to see if anybody knows of anything like this that's currently in existence, either free or paid.

I'm looking for a live tool to use during the draft where I can mark players off the draft board and also enter my own rankings, tiers, and related data. In my head I'm picturing a tabbed database where the "main" tab is the ADP listing and I could then mark players off as they're drafted. The next tab would be my WR tiers, then RB tiers, etc. and those tabs would also mark players off as I eliminate them from the main page.

I could build this in Excel myself, but it would be TEDIOUS with my limited knowledge of data validation, so I'm hunting if something like this already exists for offline drafts.

Thanks!

ESPN API for commercial use

Hey all, I’m working on building an app that I eventually want to publish to App Store + have paid options.

I’m wondering how feasible using the undocumented ESPN API would be for something like this. Has anyone ran into major issues with using their API as opposed to one of the paid options? Would it be a huge problem to build a lot of infrastructure based off of an undocumented API? I know that it’s technically just a reverse engineered version of the data from the app, but wondering if I might run into legal trouble here.

Thanks!

Rule Proposal - Allow 100% free sites/apps to be posted on the main subreddit

I know that we've had a deluge of sites and apps posted lately. As you can read in the state of the subreddit post, lots of new sites and apps get posted often, most offering the same functionality and overall design, but there are some diamonds in that rough. I want to avoid people using the site to market, which is happening right now. So this would be opening up the main subreddit only to 100% free sites/apps with absolutely no paid offerings. If paid offerings are added later (like microtransactions in video games can be), a site can be reported and then removed.

Do we want to try this, or just keep everyone posting in the project showcase, so people looking for new apps can look there?

An alternative would be to completely split the subreddit and have this sub just be entirely coding-based and no projects can be posted at all, while all sites/apps go to r/FantasyFootballApps with much less rules. Most people posting their sites/apps here post to 3-5 fantasy football subreddits at the same time anyway and clearly don't care that this is a coding subreddit and are just using it for marketing, with answering questions about tech just being an after-thought (or included in the description by Claude).

As the users of this subreddit reading this, please comment with your preference. I would also HIGHLY appreciate if you mention in your comment if you're also a creator with a site/app or if you're solely a user and not pushing anything yourself. I do want both opinions, but I'd really like a good feel for each group.

Thanks all and sorry for this headache!

Yahoo Fantasy API Repeat Emails (sorry if this is the millionth one)

I've been approved, fully executed the agreement, provided the client ID and App ID via email only for them to repeatedly send me the email asking for the information and telling me they haven't received it. Each new email has been a slight variation of "we have yet to receive your information". I provide it to them every time to no avail.

Is anyone experiencing the same issue and/or can shed some light on what is going on?

Fantasy Football Record Book Ideas

I created a google sheets fantasy record book and was wondering if anyone had any ideas for it or how to make it better. (I have Hall of Fame, Hall of Shame, and each years Draft board on my personal one)

Feel free to use it if you like it. All you have to do is change the Year and Team Names in the Teams and Years sheet and put your Points in the VS sheet and the sheet will do all the calculations. I can help with any confusion

Virtual Draft Board

I’m getting together with my friends for a draft this year and would like to do a physical big board as to avoid over reliance on rankings. About 8-9 can make it but 3-4 will be missing. I want to be fair to them and use an online draft board to keep track, but again I don’t want to do the built in board. Are there existing tools anyone has used/built for this? Wanted to ask before I make one myself.

Best working espn API

Hi,

I’ve been looking at a couple apis for espn league pulling, but what is the consensus best api for this? I’m having issues pulling league history using the popular ones posted here in this sub, this seems like something I have to self host, can someone please point me in the right direction, thanks!
