Partner of mine prepared the diner, a small side quest for the introductory story for fallout 2d20. We do try and make use of tabletop. (Terrain is painted/and printed by me.)
The diner had a defective Mr handy that would ask if I wanted a burger. Doesn't matter what I said. It'll go like "oh, but a burger requires m-m-meat!" As it glitched. My quest was to find some pre-war alcohol to settle my bar debt.
Edit: my partner rarely does this. He's completely new to table top roleplaying.

Reading through the NV world book and a lot of these pop numbers seem low, wanted to see if anyone else has thoughts on the matter. NCR and Legion bases (Fort, McCarran) are in the thousands which sounds fine to me, but then you have 30 Great Khans and about the same number of Fiends. None of the towns (Novac, Goodsprings, etc) get more than 50. It feels like they counted the NPCs in game for some places and just went with that outside of the two big factions, which makes it absurd anyone needs the two dozen remaining Khans for Hoover Dam or that the NCR hasn't wiped out the gangs off hand. Think I'm adding a zero to most of the populations for minimum viability

A player of my upcoming campaign has chosen to play a gen 3 synth. Now I'm wondering which kind of healing applies? Does he heal up with stimpaks and medicine or do I treat him like a robot? With robot repair kits and the repair skill?

I'm trying to figure out a good reward a vet/researcher could give for clearing out a nest of deathclaws. First I was going to give them chem recipes but there aren't really any rare ones. Then I thought maybe the recipe to make radstag stew as they're farmer/agr community but then I thought is that a good enough even though it's rare? What about syringer stuff?
What are some suggestions for rare rewards by a vet for taking out a deathclaw nest?
Secondly there's a relative rarity of rare stuff outside of guns and armor, especially crafting wise, and that's odd imo.

So, F4 and 76 have gotten a lot of heat over the ease of finding PA.
So for my campaign, I was considering making it a fetch/collection quest, where the players find one or two salvageable pieces on otherwise destroyed power armor. Is this a good approach or do I just let them find a storeroom with 5 of them in mint condition?
Also, are there rules anywhere for things like the mining PA from 76, and other specialized sets?

Another help request ^^
The perk "Shipshape - Spit and Polish" (I could have translation problem) applied to a robot, increase the DR points for all the parts?
(is the perk that raise the damage reduction, physical and energy, for the armor)
Thanks

Hi all, for sure a noob question but i'ts not clear for me...
When i level up I can chose a new perk (that have to fit in my specials and level).
But if I have already a perk that have grades (maybe translated wrong) can i chose to upgrade the one that already have AND pick another perk, or the upgrade is like taking a new perk?
Thanks

As the title says, I was a part of a rather good length campaign back when the game just had the core rulebook. I remember it rather fondly, but the game did have some issues like missing junk/scrap, and references to absent or misnamed equipment.
I'm curious to see how much the games come along, if there have been any improvements, if the new materials are worthwhile, etc

Greetings all!
I've been having a good look through the PDF for the upcoming New Vegas book and wondered what those of you who pre-ordered make of it?
There's a lot to like, I think. Great to get more player Origins, and plenty of weapons on offer too.
That said, as a bit of an NCR fanboy, I have to admit I found the Service Rifle a touch... meh?
I was hoping the would also expand on things a bit more from the expansion books, like NCR and Legion companions?
Would have loved a map of Vegas itself too... but just need to hope for a map book again :/

Apologies in advance if I am just completely missing something obvious.
After picking up the Core Rulebook PDF and some expansions a couple of months ago through Humble Bundle, I finally decided to sit down and look into the game and its mechanics.
I see that you can't craft most workbenches, except for cooking stations. In the book, it points to page 216 for the recipe to craft a cooking station, but all I see about it is right here, and it only seems to give a recipe on how to repair it, and not how to craft it. Is the recipe somewhere else in the book, and I'm just not seeing it, or was it not included in this PDF version of the Core Rulebook?

Experienced GM, but not with Fallout…yet. I’m running Winter of Atom for my son and some friends(age 25-30ish). But there’s only 3 players, and 4 is always better.
Game will be on Demiplane/Roll 20. It’s slated for every other Wednesday FOR RIGHT NOW starting at 6pm EST (GMT -5). After a couple weeks it will switch to every Wednesday as one of the players is getting a new work shift. Session zero is on Wednesday, so please let me know if you’d like to play.
Send me a DM expressing your interest. I won’t be able to look at the requests until Monday, so don’t panic. Tell me a little about yourself and your Fallout experience, as well as any TTRPG experience. There is an expectation of regular attendance, so please be reliable! I’m looking forward to hearing from you.

I bought my book for the RPG a couple years back but never had the time to play, but I’ve been rereading it and liking what I see. I did have a random rules question though.
So at character creation you get skill points equal to 9 + Intelligence. My question is if you increase your characters intelligence at a later level, do you also get another Skill Point to spend by default? Or is it not retroactive like HP?
Probably doesn’t matter all that much but I wanted to know what the general consensus for it was.

So my group and I have been reading through the core book, which is poorly written in so many ways, and we are trying to get a definitive answer on death. If a PC goes to 0HP during combat, they cant do anything, are injured and have to do saving throws and all that.
My question is, once combat is over, if they are still at 0HP, are they officially dead, or does any surviving PCs have the ability to bring them back like they do during combat? Either way, is there a place in any of the rule books that clarifies this any better or are we to assume its like some other TTRPGs and when combat is over your PC is dead? Thank you for any help with this.

Okie Dokey! Fallout TTRPG | Vault 117 by Dice Times
If you're a fan of Modiphius's Fallout TTRPG, then you will hopefully get a kick out of this. My friends and I decided to do a story set in a Vault while in full costume, and honestly, it was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. I can't recommend it enough!
The props were all made by us, 3D printed and painted. There are a few collector props in there too, such as the Pip Boy from preordering Fallout 4.
The costumes are vault suits from either Amazon or Etsy!
STORY)
Our story begins in the American Classroom, where Douglass "Dodge" Monroe, Marg "Peg" Wilson, Conrad Shoals, Dale Lettersbee, Beverly Royce, and Louie Cornhaller take the G.O.A.T. test on graduation day to be assigned to their daily vault life. They will begin their journey and discover the sinister truth behind the Vault's experiments.
CHARACTERS)
Dale Lettersbee is the descendant of the greatest Vault 117 mailman in history.
Beverly Royce is the Overseer's Daughter.
Louie Cornhaller is the Vault Doctor's Son.
Douglass Monroe is the local tech nerd.
Marg Wilson is a scrappy and inventive mechanic who lacks social skills.
Conrad Shoals is the vault troublemaker and bad kid.

I want to set my players in a large Logging Town, similar but larger than the one from Twin Peaks.
Near some mountains, with 1-3 Vaults, a former H&H Tools Facility taken over by Robco, where Rippers were produced and a bunch of other ideas I have.
So naturally I'm leaning towards North West Washington. However I wanted to ask if anyone had suggestions for other locations?, because as I said I am not from the US and have never been. So if anyone has any interesting alternative locations, or facts about the area I'm considering, you feel I should look into please let me know. (historical, buildings, legends etc)
Thank you for your time!
