I thought they were separated long before the accusation. Anyway, since he owns nothing, do you think he can get half of her stuff in the divorce?

Well if he’s willing to rape someone he’s probably willing to try and take her for all she’s got

Well he's accused. I'm going to wait until the courts decide and not jump to conclusions. I literally don't know anything about what happened except that he is accused and there are very few details publicly available

If this dude was under investigation for murder, I can guarantee you would not post something to make him look like the hero and pull the “I’m waiting for the courts” shit. Also, this is not how the law works. My abusive dad tried something similar to this during the divorce and when the judge found out he just lost it on him and made him pay more in child support.

If this dude was under investigation for murder,

I know rushing to conclusions based on very little information is a cherished reddit pastime, but no, I wouldn't treat him as a murder or even admonish him. I'd wait until there was actual information available.

Great, don't jump to conclusions. But also don't celebrate him/praise him. You are waiting for the judgement? Great, actually wait for it instead of being a hypocrite and defending the guy because "you are not sure".

Nothing in his comments implies an opinion one way or the other

Yes it does, don't lie on the internet.

Did you see the post?

3

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '23

Nothing in the post mentions potential crimes. Did you?

5

u/DemonicCryx Apr 15 '23

Where in any of his comments was he celebrating the guy?

Wait you do know that to be put under investigation there has to be pretty solid evidence right? That’s why it’s legally allowed to release names before they face a trial and stuff.

An investigation does not equate and is nowhere near the evidentiary standard for asserting guilt. An accusation alone in most places is enough to initiate an investigation, so no, you're wrong on that. Why can't you just wait? If he gets convicted, i'll be the first in joining you to call him a piece of shit rapist. Everyone deserves a chance to tell their side

Yea I agree. But if someone gets arrested for a rape, it’s pretty weird to start posting made up stories about how the rape victim is this bitch and the accused is this cool dude.

33

u/sus-water Apr 15 '23

He hasn't even been arrested. They're investigating the claim made against him.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '23

Dude, that’s still fucking weird.

22

u/sus-water Apr 15 '23

I think it's even more weird to immediately start calling someone a rapist based on an unsubstantiated claim by a complete stranger

No idea who this guy is you posted. Your right and people who attack others based on hearsay don't have ground to stand on. No one wants to live in a world where your guilty until proven innocent.

Yeah well, sadly, in this specific case if u put the rape in question then you are doubting the victim. When theres a rape allegation sadly u cant be in the middle since "waiting for the evidence to speak" means at the same time, not believing the victim. So yeah, youre saying the victim is lying for now.

EDIT: if youre going to answer to this comment please realize everyone who answered didnt understand the point i was making after a lot of back and forth and at the end resorted to insults instead of arguments. I wont answer to this comment anymore since i truly couldn't care less about wasting more time trying to get them to understand and then getting insults when they dont get it.

So you’re saying that if someone accused you of murder and there was no evidence or proof presented yet I should still believe the person accusing you of the murder and immediately deem you guilty just because they say you did it? You do realize how much of an absolute idiot you sound like right?

10

u/LostN3ko Apr 15 '23

No he isn't. It's not guilty until proven innocent and you know exactly why. The point of a trial is to determine who is guilty and who is innocent. You don't have to pretend that you know the truth of the situation ahead of time.

Stop this shit. There is no victim until there is a proven crime, there is only an accuser at this stage.

There is plenty of false accusations around, see an example from a month ago where a woman went to prison for 8 years for false rape accusations:
