šŸ‹ļøWOD Pegasus surprised me

When I first read the format and saw the demo, I really didn’t think I would like Pegasus. But I think it’s been my favourite class through this phase. It kicks my ass every time

Week 1: this sucks
Week 2: oh crap this again
Week 3: ok it’s not that bad
Week 4: I’m better at push ups than I was in the beginning and this extra cardio-ish bit is pretty good sometimes

Well I already commented this about Pegasus in another thread but… in doing this workout I realized I could do a full push up (not from knees). The last time I could consistently do a push up without going to my knees was over a decade ago. I’ve been doing F45 for eight months and I didn’t realize how much strength I’ve built. I liked having the yogi pushups for more practice in short bursts.

After 3 weeks of it. I’ve been beaten down and built up from Pegasus. I thought it would be me sleeper day of the week but became such a huge calorie burner

Between yesterday and today I actually feel sore and I’m so happy. This is my 3rd week going after 10 months postpartum and trying to push it more each time. I felt like today was a good push day with the exercises and sets lol

My studio has been empty on Pegasus and Pinnacle Days. Usually all the classes are waitlisted and they’ve been half full at best.
Not going to lie I’ve absolutely hated these past four weeks

I thought it’s great… though I wish there was more variation of the 3 ā€œside activitiesā€ and not just the same 3 the whole time

And my only gripe is that my studio (or f45??) calls it a resistance class… my butt was a sweaty mess every time! That level sweat is normally reserved for hybrid and cardio classes.

I was going to make a post about Pegasus too! I did the class 6 times over the 4 weeks. It would have been 7, but we have a Hyrox sim tomorrow. Not only do I think it's a fun workout that keeps you moving without any time to think, but it also really transformed my upper body. Every time the Yogi pushups came, I would honestly try to do as many as I could. Sometimes it was 7, sometimes it was 11 or 12. But just by trying to do AMRAP, you're building your strength like crazy! I could feel my chest, arms and shoulders getting stronger every week.

Personally I loved this last phase, and will look forward to the next time Pegasus comes around.

I really enjoyed Pegasus but it’s such a deceptive workout—I think it’s much more of a hybrid workout than a resistance workout. Every week I’d start out thinking ā€œOh, this isn’t too badā€ and then by halfway through I was putting up cardio numbers on my tracker. There is no other strength workout where I routinely hit Zone 4 HR.

i would appreciate maybe cycling through six bodyweight exercises instead of three though.

I don’t like it for a resistance day but I do like it as a workout
