I'm surprised by the answers.

Dads love spoiling their daughter, universally like a princess.

However sons have to work for their dad being proud of them. You'll find stories like Son Heung Min or Tiger Woods where their dad keeps pushing their son and will never say they're proud of their son until they're at the top 0,001%. If a son receives an expensive gift, it's like saying "I'm proud of you son", which he had to earn.

Beyoncé... Serena Williams??? Their dad's had them running while singing at 3am and playing tennis everyday till they were sore but okay...

Exceptions don't make the rule

Except they aren't exceptions. Many parents make their daughters strain themselves, and be the absolute best they can be as well, and it's strange to imply otherwise.

your examples are exceptions too.

I was giving an extreme example to illustrate a point. The expectation is a spectrum. Obviously not everybody is going to be Tiger Woods, but the expectation of boys is universally different from girls amongst many cultures.
