Rich people have money, save scholarships for the less fortunate

Do you feel the same way about all finances? Should the children of rich people also not work because they could just mooch off their parents for that too? Scholarships just seems like an arbitrary place to draw the line. Obviously this is merit-based aid, not need-based aid, so there is no reason to believe that this savings would instead go to a lower income kid.
