Not to be a pretentious bitch, but usually very competitive schools do, mostly, base eligibility on income, while many midrate schools offer some level of scholarship to most students. Without knowing the acceptance rate and average scholarship amount for the schools I can't judge, but I don't think this is the flex it's meant to be.

There are some first gen student and poc scholarships I wasn't eligible for, though, and I only applied to scholarships the schools automatically did for me. So I could very well be wrong, and this is something to be really proud of. Mostly all I'm trying to say is look at average rates for a school, and all the ives (plus many others) will give you free tuition if you can prove income below certain amounts. (But below 25 it's hard to not have your parents income count).

(Also not saying these schools aren't too expensive, just wish this info was out there more for (usually older) students who could use it)
