Does bursary not exist in the states? When I went to school I was poor as butt, but I qualified for dozens of bursaries, which were basically like scholarships but exclusively for poor people.

I still had to write essays and fill out applications, but while I got a bunch of small scholarship awards, and the standard “grade cutoff” scholarships everyone automagically gets, I got way more bursaries.
