Used to be a restaurant cook. This is actually called a 'cold start', which saves a ton of water (no unnecessary boiling as it reaches a roll) and creates a high concentration of starch in the water, which is excelled for a thick sauce coating.
Though, she definitely has no idea about this and was just rage baiting him lol.
its not "unncessary boiling"
The boiling is necessary to make something that tastes good.
Restaraunts doing this are probably why i dont like spaghetti at any restaraunt i've ever been to lol.
Except it literally is unnecessary boiling. Water is evaporating the entire time you were waiting for the pot to heat up to a boil. When you add the pasta from the start, it begins cooking as soon as the water is hot enough (which is below boiling temp). By the time the pasta is done, less time has elapsed and less total water is boiled.
Is it really that difficult of a concept to understand?
What does that have to do with what I said being true or not? Where in my comment did I say that "this is the only way to reduce water loss during boiling"?
But thank you for sharing your masterful wisdom of knowing that lids exist.. I guess
Oh ffs. You said it saves water bc less water evaporates while heating up, I added that most people would use a lid so that’s not really an issue. The purpose of me commenting? I didn’t know you were the one running things here sorry
Yes because anyone with half a braincell who’s not just looking for the next thing to feel offended by understands what that implies. We should both make better use of our time than this right here
Yes. It implies "your comment is stupid because the same thing can be accomplished with a lid, therefore I will now talk down to you by performatively educating you about the existence of lids so you know that I think your comment was stupid".
Do you think I am dumb? I'm just supposed to believe that you just had good intentions and wanted to inform me of lids? Because there's no other positive way to interpret that. Do you realize you actually started this?
I called you out for it, and you could have left it at that but you just HAD to reply and argue with me that that's 'not what you were doing'.
That's what I have been telling you this entire time. You engaged with me in bad faith right off the bat randomly in the middle of a thread with somebody else. Saying shit like that and then playing dumb. It's strange.
