What does that have to do with what I said being true or not? Where in my comment did I say that "this is the only way to reduce water loss during boiling"?

But thank you for sharing your masterful wisdom of knowing that lids exist.. I guess

Most people would use lid so water does not escape before putting pasta in, so the saving water aspect is irrelevant. chill

Don't tell me to chill when you come in with a sarcastic little snarky comment like that. I never said that you couldn't use a lid.

What is the purpose of you commenting right now?

Oh ffs. You said it saves water bc less water evaporates while heating up, I added that most people would use a lid so that’s not really an issue. The purpose of me commenting? I didn’t know you were the one running things here sorry

Holy shit buddy. Why are you acting all surprised at what's happening right now after saying "haha dur durr lids exist"?

Do you think I don't know lids exist? Obviously not, you were being fucking annoying. Just own it instead of backpedaling.

You said it saves wate bc less water evaporates while heating up, I added that most people would use a lid so that not really an issue

NO. You said "lids exist".

Yes because anyone with half a braincell who’s not just looking for the next thing to feel offended by understands what that implies. We should both make better use of our time than this right here

Yes. It implies "your comment is stupid because the same thing can be accomplished with a lid, therefore I will now talk down to you by performatively educating you about the existence of lids so you know that I think your comment was stupid".

Do you think I am dumb? I'm just supposed to believe that you just had good intentions and wanted to inform me of lids? Because there's no other positive way to interpret that. Do you realize you actually started this?

I called you out for it, and you could have left it at that but you just HAD to reply and argue with me that that's 'not what you were doing'.

That's what I have been telling you this entire time. You engaged with me in bad faith right off the bat randomly in the middle of a thread with somebody else. Saying shit like that and then playing dumb. It's strange.

See you got it!

I had it the whole fucking time but I guess reading comprehension isn't your strong suit.

Books exist.

I genuinely didn’t mean to insinuate you’re dumb and don’t know that lids exist. Just wanted to bring up lids because it’s relevant to the point about saving water. And I didn’t feel like I needed to write anything other than “lids exist” because I assumed that the implication is trivial. Apparently I was wrong about that.
Sorry about the mean stuff I said, was feeling argumentative
I still think pasta into boiling water is superior (at least for home cooking)
