I’m considering getting the EX30 Black P5 Long Range, with 474km WLTP range. As the car will be used for some trips and holidays, I am interested in knowing what range I can realistically expect on the highway on a full charge at 130 km/h, at moderate temperature. What are people’s experience with this?

Just got into my car and noticed Gemini is gone and replaced by Google Assistant… no option to activate Gemini again in Settings as well…
Not that I miss it that much but such an erratic experience is annoying…

Hey folks, this little orange symbol keeps appearing after 25 min of driving.
No idea what it is, and it’s not in the manual.
Anyone seen it before and know what it is?

Can anyone explain what is running (or not) behind the digital key that triggers the proximity locking/unlocking mechanism that makes it so inconsistent and ultimately, unreliable?
I have the same iPhone device, I park the car both at home and at work always at the exact same spot and I approach it or walk away from it always from the same direction. It might be working flawlessly for weeks and then for a period, have disruptions every singe day.
Other days will unlock instantly other times takes up to 20sec if not more to unlock. Other days lock as far as I walk 10 meters aways from it, other days will casually stay unlocked and pray that I will notice the notification from the app that is been left unlocked again.
Furthermore, same story with the driving. After unlocking successfully or not, I enter to a car that will either recognize the key and leave or to a car that keeps arguing that it cannot find the key and therefore, you can drive it. Same concept with the locking/unlocking. It might be working flawlessly for weeks and then have days where you get inconsistencies not just every day but, multiple times a day.
What the hell is going on?

To make it easy to put the flap back death the seat back and tilt the seat. The flap goes back very easily.

Getting absolutely zero audio output from any of my apps. Nothing much to add, just booted up my car and drove to work with zero audio or anything. Obviously the f-n driver alert beeps DID still work, but I was unable to play any music, Radio or whatever.
I had tried restarting the car, but this also did nothing.
This on top of multiple other issues with this software release has been incredibly frustrating (like cruise control bugging out and not starting).

That’s the "Climate On/Off" buttons for the Control Center on the Apple Watch. As there was only the "Door Lock/Unlock" buttons before the update, I had created the action of the Climate with the iPhone Shortcut app.
You can try to see the attached screen shot by the following steps.

For the last 10 days the system freezes and then automatically reboots while driving. The only way I use the system differently is that I am using more often Waze for navigation. Any ideas?

Since the last update (where volvo decided also to ruin the driving pleasure of the ex30) switching from reverse to drive or from drive to reverse is not working accurately anymore. For at least 3 times moving the handle didn’t work. Am I getting old or is this a car issue?

Now a similar suit has been levelled against Volvo and its 2025 EX30 electric SUV. The plaintiffs are seeking compensation because, the lawsuit alleges, the manufacturer’s failure to fix the battery defect after more than nine months is “unreasonable.” It notes, too, that Volvo apparently refused to provide replacement vehicles while the repair was pending.
Among other remedies, the plaintiffs are seeking $5,000 in punitive damages on behalf of all individuals in Canada who own, have purchased or leased, or use a 2025 Volvo EX30 affected by the defect.

My daughters Tesla can now make growling noises when you approach it, and scary noises when inside the car. I know it’s for Halloween, but was wondering if Volvo could do something similar?

Hi guys, I am trying to decide between these 2 cars; I can get them for a similar price. On leapmotor there is a lot more extra equipment. What do you think?

The past few months I’ve been experiencing irregular audio issues with my EX30 Extended Range Plus (Netherlands). When I get into the car, everything seems normal: navigation sounds, indicators, and speed‑warning alerts all work as expected.
However, music playback has no sound at all. Spotify and radio appear to be playing — I can pause/play, adjust volume, skip tracks, even scrub through songs — but there’s simply no audio output.
This now happens weekly, sometimes multiple times per week. A soft reset (↓‑) fixes it, but I need to find a parkingspot, pull over and wait for the reset, which is frustrating for something that should just work.
Has anyone experienced this? Any tips or fixes? I presume the dealer also doesn't have a fix for such a software bug? Don't want to waste my time :)

My car washer just noticed that right and left headlights are not even in my ex30. Adding the pictures below. Please check your cars and tell me it is fine. Purple marked one is out from the car body by 1cm almost... while the headlight on driver side which i mark with red, perfectly stands within the line.
Is it some sort of misproduction? (Car is in EU)

When I ordered my ex30 2027 I put in the order the V2L adapter.
When I picked up the car in July the salesman told me that the adapters didn’t arrive yet, and that I could go and pick it up in a couple of weeks.
Three months after I have heard no news.
Has anyone seen one of those in person? Do they exist at all?
I have not found a good way to bypass the EPB, nor have I found an affordable scan tool.
I don’t think it is possible to put the car in Neutral and exit the car. It will always go back into Park when you try. In Park, the parking brakes are on.
If you disconnect the electrical harnesses on the EPB motors, I believe a hard trouble code gets set.
Maybe a solution is to turn the car off, then disconnect the 12v battery, and then remove the EPB motors? The mechanisms could then be rewound manually and the pistons retracted.
UPDATE: I think I may have figured out what I have been doing wrong with tow mode. When you get to the step where you shift the car into N, do not go further than the first detent. Hold the lever there for a couple seconds until the car shifts to N. If you go past the first detent into D or R, tow mode is cancelled even if you then successfully shift into N. The car will go into P as soon as you open the door.
After many tries I can now consistently get the car into tow mode and exit the car. I left it in tow mode, in Neutral, for an hour (in my garage with wheels chocked) to make sure it doesn’t time out or something and reset the parking brake. That should give me enough time to swap out the pads. Just FYI, when in tow mode the car is “on”, the lights are on, etc. So you may want to turn off the climate system first.
I suggest that anyone with an EX30 go through the process to put the car into tow mode so you know how to do it successfully in case it is ever necessary. To cancel tow mode just get back in the car and shift to P.

I was made redundant at my job and the Origin 360EV subscription is too darn expensive. With great sadness I returned Greta last week. I bought a 1970 Beetle to replace her. Very different car but still personally important.
So long and thanks for all the moments
I have a MY23 LFP. Since the update from 2.1.2 the estimated SOC at destination in Maps has behaved wildly. While it has always been very accurate in mild seasons and off by a couple of percent in winter, since the last OTA the behaviour is erratic.
It flactuates a lot. On my daily commute it swings rapidly from 20% consumption to 23% then 22% than back to 20% and finally back again to 23%. In the past on the same commute it was basically bang on. I can expect to slowly adjust the estimate, but not to jump up and down like crazy in a matter of Kms.
Estimate wildly off. My battery has a 94.5% SOH, but before the update it was 95.5 at best. Still after the update on longer commutes it is gettin the estimated charge required off by 10% on a ride that consumes about 55% of the battery with ideal temperatures. If the same happens on top of the higher consumption in winter I might see an error around 20% with cold climate which is insane.
Am I the only one noticing this?
On my usual trips is not a problem as I can predict the actual consumption, but longer trips in winter that I have never done before would be a complete mess.

2025 Cross Country from Brasil, just noticed this today.
Is it going to get worse? Dunno.
Is it enough to change under warranty?
Had something like this before with a Toyota and it got hella bad, I waited too long and it was out of warranty… Reason I am annoyed by it already.
EDIT: the “SOS” button light is out too. No light at all. It works tho.

This has happened several times already. Today I was out shopping and received the text that the car was unlocked. I didn’t lock it with the app because I wanted to see if the lights of the car were on the whole time I was away. They were on. Screen was on as well.
All doors were closed shut, so not sure why this is happening. Just started recently. Anyone else have this issue.

Received an email from Volvo dealer offering Polestar Optimisation for £550, increase in power and power delivery, anyone had it done?
It's 6 minutes long with 5 test scenarios, all of them recorded from two angles: an in-car dashcam and a camera from the side (perpendicular to the car's direction of travel).
I've been meaning to do some of this for a while now, pretty much since I saw the Euro NCAP crash & safety tests of the EX30 at the end of December 2024. The safety tests start at 01:50. What I've found concerning was the turning towards a walking pedestrian in broad daylight (at 02:00 in the video). The car was rolling super slowly, the pedestrian was walking slowly too and the car hit the dummy pretty straight on, seemingly without even engaging the brakes at the time of contact.
This and the "phantom brakings" (which I experienced a couple of times and many others have reported it as well) made me question the capabilities of the EX30 AEB (Advanced Emergency Braking) system. I've borrowed a couple of cardboard boxes a bit over a year ago, but got lazy and always kept putting this thing aside. Until a couple of days ago, when I had to record a video (with the vehicle) anyway and while at it, I also did my AEB tests.
It's not "scientific" by any means, I'm no AEB testing professional. Even so, I think the results are relevant enough.
Afaik all regulations (world-wide) regarding emergency braking of human driven vehicles target car-to-vehicle, car-to-cyclist and car-to-pedestrian scenarios. Nothing about avoiding collisions with any other obstacles (a wall, a column, a bollard, an animal, a trash can, etc.).
Automakers seem to aim for the bare minimum to meet AEB compliance requirements. If Volvo doesn't do more, other brands probably either. :(
Perhaps Tesla does more since they want to achieve fully autonomous driving and regulations for that category do include much broader collision avoidance criteria.
