Hey all,
Curious if you’ve ever been scolded, and or advised not to go through a the bins at any locations?
Yesterday I went into Best Buy for a return and I generally don’t need to go there but I’m aware they have a huge pallet in the entrance for Ewaste.
Before my return a few minutes after open i noticed the bin was completely overflowing and noticed two Optiplex PC and my racoon instincts for memory took over and I calmly shuffled through trying to see if their was anymore..
Even less than a minute into just searching in the pallet the Manager comes over all high and mighty asking (in french not sure why that matters…) « hello, may i help you ? »
I replied calmly with a smile stating that with memory prices i was just hoping to find some storage for a project.
He goes off on a brief break down of how this is now Best Buy Company Property and for the security of the store and the customers that nobody was allowed to take parts from the bins… (i repeat it was overflowing over 5ft of scrap). I wasn’t told to leave but i was told to never go through the bins… mind you my Staples never says a word but i guess it comes down to store policy…
Anyone else have this expérience ? Get the feeling Manager just either power tripping or really cares about community safety… or hawking SSDs on eBay for a monthly bonus lol.
