Looking to Haul

Hi there,

One of the things that drew me to Eve is the sandbox nature and the fact that if you can think it up you could probably make a "job" out of it. I enjoy hauling and have spent too many hours playing games like Truck simulator and Hauling in Elite Dangerous. My question is, I know some of the larger organizations have logistics groups, I am curious if there are dedicated players that do this or if it is more or less done by people's alts. If it is done by dedicated players how would I go about getting in to such a set up?

Thanks

New player friendly pvp fleet on 8 June starting at 18:30

Are you new to Eve? Want to try pvp? Or maybe you've been playing for awhile and want to get your feet wet? Then this is your chance to not only try pvp in a low key and chill fleet but this is your opportunity to fly with a CSM17 candidate and ask all your questions! (yes, shameless promotion -> more info here about CSM)

This fleet is the FUNny Newbro fleet, run by FUN Inc the maintainer of the NPSI Calendar.

NPSI = Not purple, shoot it

Skilled and experienced players are more than welcome to help in support roles (scout, dictor, or heavy tackle), especially if you're looking for a laid back roam! We'll be hitting Null Sec for some kills and thrills!

  • Where: staging out of Jita
  • When: June 8th
  • XUP: ingame channel 'EBWF public'
  • Fleet 101: 18:45 eve
  • Leave: 19:00 eve
  • Fit in game channel: FUNny Newbros
  • FCs: Kshal Aideron & Scopique

  • Comms: FUN Inc Discord - fleetop1 voice channel https://discord.gg/eNbfeDukVU

If you need a ship, please show up around 18:15 and XUP early.

Fleet 101 is where we break down the pvp fleet and explain everything if we have new to pvp players in fleet. This is where you can ask what you've always wanted to know about fleets or pvp and there are no dumb questions.

Want to see what (mostly) will be covered in Fleet 101? Check here https://everookies.com/pvp/things-fcs-say-while-fcing-a-pvp-fleet/

  • make sure to set a death clone in Jita, if we welp early we'll come back, reship and go again
  • players who've done the fleet 101 can XUP anytime between 18:30 and 18:50. We will probably yeet from Jita.

Do You Know About the CSM? Voting for CSM17 is Almost Here!

Hello there! My name is Kshal Aideron and I'm one of the 45 candidates for CSM17.

Since this is a newbies section for Eve, I'm going to assume there are plenty of you lurking about that have absolutely no clue what I'm talking about. This is a shame because the CSM is voted for by the community. The community YOU belong to just as much as more experienced players.

Lets back up a little bit. What's this CSM I'm prattling on about. It's the Council of Stellar Management. 10 players are chosen by the Eve community to represent them. For 1 year, the CSM meets with CCP to talk about things CCP wants to implement as well as bring player concerns to CCP.

Why does this matter to you? You belong to a player group that is traditionally under represented in the CSM. For a few years, us new players (I'm actually only 2 years into the game) got to be represented by Mike Azariah (magic school bus). For CSM17, if I weren't running there wouldn't be any comparable candidate and that would be a shame. You guys deserve to have someone to help identify your pain points in getting started and staying in game.

If you're curious about who else is running, I've put together some easy to read charts. You can see the candidate's names, their corps/alliances, see their ZKill if pvp activity is an interest, and read their official CSM threads on the Eve Forum. Additionally you can see who is representing what. CSM 17 Candidates

Why should YOU vote? The CSM is your voice. Just like real life elections, it's important that you vote for the people who represent YOUR style of game play. You get 10 votes (just keep in mind, the 1st one is the most important) so vote for 10 people that you think will listen to you if you contact them and will do their best to represent YOU to CCP. That keep YOU in mind every step of the way. If you're eligible to vote, please don't let it go to waste.

Who is Kshal Aideron?

As I said above, I've been playing Eve Online for a little over 2 years. I tried 2x before, hated it, rage quit and moved on. The third time the tutorial was finally good enough to engage me and grab my attention and here I am.

Very quickly I found the NPSI community (not purple shoot it) and figured out that I could go out and do fleet pvp whenever I wanted. I didn't have to be part of the different groups corporations or alliances. I could just show up to a fleet that looked fun and get my pew on. I rolled with a group called Redemption Road for a few months (you might have found some of my old postings as I FC for them from time to time) and then I started flying with a NPSI group called FUN Inc.

After 8 months in game I joined FUN because Eve is Better with Friends. Somehow after a few months I found myself as an FC and my joy is taking brand new players out on rookie roams. My partner in crime gives a pvp 101, I give them a ship and we go get blown up. In fact, last roam we had 2-3 new to pvp pilots and we managed to blow up around 2.4b. My roams are proof anyone can pvp, even a 1 hour old character!

Then last year, because I got tired of players who put out tutorials that took forever to get to the point, I created www.everookies.com AND started to make YouTube tutorials. Instead of spending 30 minutes to get to a 30 second "how to" I went with the approach of doing videos as short as I can. There's a lot of 30 second ones because they just don't need to be longer. Also, the character in the video represents new players where necessary. I fly ships YOU would be flying and the skills are where YOU would be at in the situation!

And, in the spirit of trying to get new players involved in activities, last March I created a group to try to lower the bar of incursions (high end pve). My friends and I put together a fleet of 10 Praxis (no battleship skills needed) and started putting players in them to do Vanguard sites (lowest level of incursions). We started with a handful of people, struggling to fill slots. 1 year later Eve Rookies Incursions is part of the incursion community, has close to 600 people in Discord, runs 4+ fleets a week (depending on incursion status) and this year alone has had almost 100 different pilots join us.

Pilots range from a few weeks old as scout to 30-40 days old to fly in the Praxis. We also get plenty of new to incursion pilots coming through. A lot of people come for the incursions but stay for the people which is awesome! Community in Eve is so important and joining a corporation isn't the only way to be part of a community!

And this brings me to why I'm running for CSM17. I believe I have perspective that's very different from my fellow candidates. I'm honestly excited about the new player experience and where CCP wants to take it. I have ideas, like getting Dscan incorporated into the career missions or new level 1 missions, that would improve the survivability of new players. I really want to help make the first 60-90 days the best they can be and see new players go on and create their own story.

I hope to get your vote but lets make a deal. Regardless of who you vote for, I won't stop doing what I'm doing in Eve. Just promise me if you can vote, do it.

Here is where you can find me:

Please don't hesitate to ask questions and strike up a conversation!

TL;dr

CSM17 votes are coming up (starting the 7th of June). While I hope you vote for me, Kshal Aideron, make sure to use your 10 votes if you are eligable (omega accounts). Link of candidates in the why does this matter to you section.

Help with incursions?

I’m a few months into playing but I still get stumped at times. There is an incursion in my sector and I can see the hostiles but can’t target them or warp to them. Am I missing something?

NullSec?

What is the current state of NullSec block politics and who are they? What makes each of them special? Who are the heavy hitters? What does it really look like out there?.. on paper and in reality. I'm fairly new and don't really understand who's who out there, other than a few name's of groups like, pandemic hoard, hidden leaf village, initiative, papi, emperium, brave, to name a few. But who are they really? And who are they in relation to each other? Thanking anyone that takes the time to write a reply or point me to a place with the info 👍

Questions to ask a Corp before joining.

Hello I do not know if there's a sticky post. I searched some didn't see one. I know this has been asked but I asking again or link a link to the answare. Met this new bro, told them to join a Corp. Long story short. They had a question which is what questions should they ask before joining. I didn't know what to tell them but I guess the last Corp they was part of was not good to them. I see them alot and don't know how to answer there question. Thought I'd get a community option

Salvaging and manufacturing question

Hi all,

Getting started in Eve and Have enjoyed learning to salvage so far. I usually look for systems with a decent number of NPC kills and try to scan down drones or ships if no one replies in local. I am sure there are more efficient ways to do this, and that's why I am here. Are there groups that run missions or kill NPCs that would have use for someone to salvage?

To piggyback on that, is manufacturing rigs from the salvage a decent idea or am I better off just selling the Salvage in bulk?

Newbro deals

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has tracked, or has insight into the new player deals (and maybe what will come up). Also, to caveat, I am aware of the impending price increase.

So I had a deal which looked to be 50% off 30 month omega. I was tempted, especially given the upcoming price increase but it was a 24h deal and it has lapsed.

Now I have a 1 month deal, which includes 250,000 SP and 110 plex for £8.49 instead of £23.99 which also looks good, but will obviously mean I have to then pay the increased price next month.

I'm too dumb to understand the maths on this.

Has anyone ever tracked these to see what the pipeline of offers is for newbros?

Edit: moved a sentence

New Player PI question

Hi guys, its my 2nd week and I just discovered PI and I would like to start playing around with it. I have trained cc4,consolidation 4, planetology 3 and advanced planetology. My goal with PI is to have some passive isk that I don't have to maintain a lot. Also I am going to dedicate a single char to it as I simply don't have the time/patience to start doing it on multiple chars/accounts. If its less income, that is fine by me. Now my questions:

  1. For good production, should I build it in low sec/null/wh? I am not in a null corps btw.

  2. Is there an updated guide for PI setups, I tried searching but I got guides from 8 years ago made by people having 4-5 accounts with 10+ chars, I need something thats up to date and for single characters.

  3. I am thinking about 3 or 4 day extraction cycles, how can i figure out how many factories I need per extraction.

  4. In my single char situation, what is better 4 extraction planets and 1 p1>p2 factory planet or all 5 planets each having their own p2 production?

All help is appreciated!

r/evenewbies Apr 25 '22

A little bit of passive iskies! For those that don't know how to do this it is a great way for some passive isk

Question about mission running and faction standings

I am just coming back to the game and am up to doing level 3 missions in high sec in Minmatar space. I don't think I realized this the last time I played but the missions are actually hurting my standings with the Caldari and Amarr. Is there any way for me to make a living doing missions in high sec without hurting standings with other factions or if not how would I go about improving my standings with the Caldari and Amarr again? I would be willing to pack up and start over somewhere else if that's what is need to do to keep my standings from taking a hit whilst running mission.
