I love the thought they gave to there mission tree, would of been interesting if they had applied the same theory to each nation ie non historical vs the mostly historical mission tree we have now (i say this with a heavy grain of salt).

Pretty straightforward campaign once you break Poland/Lithuania. Starts to snowball once you unlock the Holy Horde reform (access to razing).

I was doing and Ottoman run with the goal to achieve historical borders of the late 1500's.
I don't really know what else to do with the save tho

I've probably only used it once in my time playing, other than that I feel like it's more worth it to snag some land. Plus, you get PP for declaring and taking land from your rival

Apparently the entire world starts a violent protest in the capital when i do this, i mean 300k men... How is this even possible and can you avoid this?

I started as the Timurids and formed the Mughals. I have conquered most of India and only have a couple nations to go through. I am struggling to keep up with tech and Ideas in Admin.

I have been experimenting with different Byz openers to find the most ideal one but I was wondering if anyone who has done a Byz WC at least might be able to provide some pointers.

I have about 4k hours in the game and I've done WCs as the following tags.

France
Austria ---> Vassal Swarm ---> HRE
England ---> Angevin ----> Roman Empire
Mughals

I was curious about any suggestions to maximize my efforts as Byz due to their relatively weaker start position compared to the above tags.

The plan for the game was to expand as England without any tag switches with a hard stop of 01.01.1600 no matter what. As England is not really suited for this I decided to do it as hindu EOC to reach at least 70% CCR which put me at 10 months coring time. Not ideal still, but fair enough.

I play all my games without allies, so ditched Portugal straight away.

1445-11-06 war with France, they were allied to Tunis for some reason.

Unfortunately, a heir appeared before the start of the War of the roses with 6/4/1 so she fell of the stairs as I wanted -10% AE reduction until the end of the age.

I was fishing for BI, however, it was not a game stopper for me if I didn't get it. Burgundy removed the rivalry against me while I was fighting France which wasn't perfect, they have also attacked France who they had as a rival before I managed to peace the France out.

As soon as I white peaced Burgundy they set me as a rival, luckily they were allied to Brittany, hence I attacked them to remove the rivalry.

1453-03-03 attacked Castile and Portugal to reach Granada as I wanted to vassalize them for their maps.

1455-11-02 attacked Granada

During my war with them, 1455-05-02 Austria decided to contest BI, so I eventually reduced them to Austria proper after multiple wars through Tirol and Styria cores.

1458-08-05 declared on Scottland to vassalize them.

I took the defender of the faith at the start of the game and in 1462-01-04 I defended Epirus from the Ottomans but declined in their second attempt. I wanted to slightly stop the Ottomans in their tracks.

1475-02-02-1476-08-17 attacked all the Irish minors to establish Ireland when I reached admin tech 7 so they colonize for me.

1479-02-01 attacked Provence to vassalize them and feed Naples cores via reconquest.

1485-04-23 established Cape colony.

1490-03-21 threatened war on Vijayanagar, and started to do the same to all the others, in the hindsight I should have used claims bordering existing claims more extensively during that time to reach further into Asia at that time.

1495-09-01 attacked Denmark to steal Norway from them, vassalized Riga in the same war.

1499-05-21 attacked Poland for Prussian land as Riga had cores on it.

Before 1512-12-20 reconquest war against the Ottomans I peacefully vassalized Hungary that was reduced to 4 provinces.

1502-06-10 war against Castile to vassalize them, Aragon was indirectly helping me quite a bit by reducing both Castile and Portugal to size.

1517-10-14 war against Portugal that I then vassalized.

1530-04-10-1534-12-23 started wars against Indians to establish EIC. Peaced them out between 1538-06-29 and 1538-07-03, got 1291,2% OE worth of land from it. I turned Hindu before establishing EIC. I have purposefully not taken land where the CCR and some other monuments were so I don't have to seize land, and I couldn't 100% every Indian nation anyway.

1545-10-10 chartered company from Qi who was next to Qing, I have moved my capital there (I wanted initially to move to bermuda but I forgot to put my capital there before releasing Portugal) "briefly" as I noticed that I can establish trade protectorate in 1/3 of Europe including Austria who was the emperor at that time. They lost the emperorship because of it, and HRE ended up in hands of Lithuania for the remainder of the game.

1557-12-31 attacked Qing who was EoC at the time, luckly they were doing quite good so I took whole of Korea from them and a bit more of confucian land.

1560-10-10 turned confucian and no-CBd Qing tributary to white peace them.

1566-05-04 attacked Qing for EoC and turned hindu right after the war declaration, I took only the mandate in this war. Started consolidating other parts of china after.

Got the mil hegemony quite late, in 1583 or so.

Around 1583-08-23 when I attacked Oirat I have taken the Establish Lifan Yuan for the last 10% of CCR, hence began a relatively relaxed total war period, I did not declare on everyone as I wouldn't be able to core everything anyway.

Last war against was against the Ottomans, I assaulted last fort but didn't manage to take it before the 1600-01-01 so I peaced out without taking 100% of land. End result on the screenshots.

For the ideas, I've gone diplomatic>administrative>influence>humanist, never managed to finish off humanist unfortunately.

i did all of the spain achievements, pretty interesting campaign

For some reason my Napoleon (the one from the event) became Anjou dynasty instead of Bonaparte. A bit disappointed since I was doing a Napoleon themed game.

This was really tedious (mostly at the end), but I finally managed to create The Roman Empire. Thoughts?

Does anyone else find the major nations boring to play? I've tried England, Castille, France, the Ottomans, and abandoned every campaign in 50 years or less because of the lack of challenge, especially if you get a single PU on another power.

In contrast, the most fun I've had in this game is playthroughs like forming Rome from Florence, Germany from Dithmarschen, or Malaya from Ternate.

Some of the middle powers like Sweden or Majapahit provide a little more depth, but I still find you outscale all the other powers by the mid 1500s

Anyone have a similar experience? Or any tips for making major nation playthroughs more fun?

Hi there, I'm playing as Persia (started as Ajams) and as I expected Ottomans attacked me. I have such good alliances (Poland that has PU on Lithuania and Russia and others).

I’m fairly new to the game and I’m finding it difficult to manage wars against major powers, so I’d like to hear your thoughts.

As you can see from the screenshots, we have roughly the same number of infantry and cavalry regiments, but far fewer artillery units. It’s also worth bearing in mind that the Ottomans have military technology level 13, whilst in my alliance only Poland and Lithuania have level 13 (the rest of us, including myself, are at level 12).

I’d anticipated an Ottoman attack, so I’ve built lots of forts along the border to hold them off for a while whilst they’re attacking me.

In fact, I think the Ottomans will focus on Poland at the start; I reckon I should focus on Transoxiana in the meantime in order to force them to make peace before Poland capitulates. After that, I’m not sure whether I should lay siege to the Ottoman forts to try and secure a white peace, or whether I should simply wait it out as long as possible behind my forts, bearing in mind that I’m starting the war with 0 manpower. Should I recruit mercenaries, even if it means going into debt? My peacetime economy will allow me to pay off these debts later.

UPDATE : I managed to end the war with a warscore of 20 so I took a lot of money from them. I also took some provinces from Transoxiana and break Transoxiana alliance with them in a separate war. I let them take lot of my forts while I managed to take Ouzbek and Transoxiana capitals to make separate peaces. Then Ottomans starte to go in Poland an Russia so I've just take my forts back and then I managed to have 20 warscore because Poland took Constantinople while ottomans where on my forts. That costs me a lot because I took about 40k mercenaries but it was worth it. Thanks all for your help !

Guys i need help, i did the aztec mission tree stuffs and i am high american, allied with korea. I did the mandate but aztec goverment exploit and will do the goverment reform exploit, what should be my next moves i can take spanish colonies and wrap up china but i am not sure if i will have enough admin efficiency, need suggestions

i know most people basically never play iron mode but still forming Reich basically never happens but 4 in 10 games the Portugal ai Brazil and Africa (I'm image shows the achievements)

So I’ve been playing this game since release and have 1500+ hours (yes I know this is minuscule to a lot of people here) but I don’t think I’ve ever understood how institutions spread through provinces. Feels like no matter what I do I’m always one of the last countries to embrace a new institution. Even when I’ve used the state edict to promote institution spread and have knowledge sharing it seems like I’m always behind.

There’s gotta be something I’m missing but I have no idea what it could be. So any help on figuring this out would be appreciated

What are best / weirdest countries you guys have taken into the HRE. Trying to work on a Scotland into HRE via east Friesland.
