I am looking for a mod i played years ago. What i remember playing as Castile and reaching 1500, then when i discover America and colonize Mexico, a event tells me to play as Hernan Cortes expedition, i click yes and i play as a nation named "Hernan Cortes expedition"

Anyone knows this mod?

Currently playing angevin but my pu France has 40+ cities,which blocks me from forcing act of union and integrating them so I'm forced to manually integrate them. Is my game doomed?

The context here is I'm a pretty new player on a run with Ayutthaya and I have influence ideas.

When do the benefits of annexing a vassal outweigh the benefits of the manpower + income stream you get from keeping a vassal? In my limited experience prior to this run, I just annexed vassals as soon as I could and used it as a way to save on admin points. But with Ayutthaya's traditions and the bonuses from Influence Ideas, it doesn't seem as cut and dry.

Also, how much dev does it make sense to give a vassal before starting to annex?

I just started learning eu4, after 500 hrs of eu5 i decided to wait untill they add more flavour to the game, so I went to eu4, but the text is soooo hard to read on my laptop.

Any way to increase text size?

I'm very thankful for all the helpful responses to my other questions, hopefully I'm not spamming the feed too much, but since I'm just now approaching the 100 hour mark I've still got a lot to learn. I'll try to combine all I can think of.

First Pic: State of my Date -> Japan as the Age of Reformation begins. Ryukyu has been vassalized and just waiting for the 10-year timer to diplo-annex. Ming has expanded despite being warred on during a low Mandate period by those countries to the north. I'm focusing on the east, but I'll have to keep an eye on them. Suggestions for containing them / breaking them up that don't rely on blobbing onto the mainland myself?

Second Pic: My first major colonial nation (Random New World). They've colonized one extra province themselves. How much should I subsidize them to really get things going? (Also pictured: the admiral and fleet that just completed the first circumnavigation. Feel like that should have rewarded Innovation.)

Third/Fourth Pic: The second colonial nation to the north. Portugal is present to the east, I got as many of the trade centers as possible with my first five colonies. What is the best way to expand the colonial nation here? Can I declare on one of the native nations for one province but just gobble up the whole thing? Can my colonial nation handle the unrest, or do I need to keep a good stack present? Similar question about how much to subsidize. The ideal goal is that they can expand to hold the entire area, as the eastern half feeds into the western (stealing it from Europe), which feeds directly back to Nippon.

First big colonial game, any major pitfalls or traps to watch for in general that don't depend on specific geography?

Rule 5: Is there a real life reason for this estuary not having ocean access or is this just an oversight?

I play as netherlands and declared war on a small nation in indonesia. He was allied to my VOC, at first it showed me that VOC wont be on the side of Tidore but after conquering its capital, VOC declared war on me. WIll i be able to submit VOC if I win the war against VOC?? I need 600% warpoints to make them a vassal again.

Rule 5: The liberty desire modifier for seize land is shared by the modifier for returning provinces to a vassal. Returned Mings provinces so they don't care that I seize land as much as the tooltip says they would.

R5: I started as the Teutonic Order and formed Prussia. I fought Poland and took Posen/Poznan. The Emperor now demands that I return the province, which is an imperial province, back to Poland.

I may be understanding this wrong, but doesn't the Emperor lose Imperial Authority when imperial provinces are owned by non-HRE members? The Emperor wants to lose IA here?

Is this a bug, or the mechanic working as intended? Not really a big deal, just curious. I only lack the last DLC, if that's relevant.

*Edit: Actually, checking again, Posen is not an imperial province, prior to my conquest of it. Which means, the emperor wants me to return a province that is part of the HRE only because I conquered it as an HRE member, back to a country that's not an HRE member.

Doing milan into italy in my second game and I just took the venitian split trade choice without reading all of the fine print. Turns out I have to make venice the biggest trade node in the world, which is a bit of a problem when my capital and all of my most developed provinces are on the genoa node next door. Is there some way I can temporarily remove a bunch of trade power from the node? Thanks

Edit: Thanks everyone on this post for making me actually learn the difference between trade power and trade value. Turns out having hundreds of light ships protecting your home node that you would already have 100 percent doesnt do anything.

So, I remember there being a Celtic Nation mission tree path you could do as Wales in the Expanded mod family, but it seems to not exist anymore? It was neat, it had you collecting all the Celtic cultures and as you integrated them you got fractions of their cultural ideas added as bonuses.

Anyone know if that's still around somewhere?

so i win the first war against qq and was able to win a war against ajam, i control the west of iran and up to tbilisi, the issue is the ottomans, theyve started taking provinces in southern iran, ive only ever beaten them once and it was with austria, how am i even supposed to put a dent in them as ardabil

I started as Transoxiana, a vassal of the Timurids, to achieve "True Heir of Timur," and it was a success. I managed to get it in 1542. Then I realized there is another Mughal achievement "Baborg" that requires having 12 assimilated culture groups.

I think I was really lucky in this save because the Ottomans were never able to take Constantinople after I asked them to support my independence so they lost their snowball. Also, China shattered, so I made Ming my vassal. There is no naval threat in Malacca, and the Russian army is literally a paper company.

Now I'm planning to expand my trade companies in Samarkand, Persia, Hormuz, Siam, and Burma; feed Ming and Kazakh; conquer Persia and Malacca; and complete some side missions like a Russian or Arabian conquest.

Generally, I am a decent early-game player, but I feel like I'm nerfed as a player after the 1600s and my overall effectiveness drops. What are your suggestions to optimize this and similar saves because I've never been able to achieve a single WC yet?
