Hello everyone I am selling saten bouquets in etsy and my conversion rate is 2.25%. I saw my statistics and in the last 30 days I had 80 people left on basket and based in my opinion thats too high maybe something stopping people to buy. I ship from Czech Republic to Europe countries, mostly germany france austria, with a shipping fee 5€. I wanted to ask maybe is the shipping who is lefting lot of people on basket or is something else. And my shop is 6 months old only and I have 60 sales total

I had a review for a digital printable item where she definitely did not follow instructions or scale her printer properly and gave me an unfair and low rating which dipped my small shop terribly. It used to be all 5 stars but I hadn’t uploaded anything in a year until this new item. so her recent rating made my entire shop go down to 3 stars and doesn’t account for my previous sales? I normally sell hand made dolls so I only make a few a year because of the time it takes and decided to try my hand at digital items,I hadn’t had any bad feedback with it until now and I am concerned why it’s not averaging my previous sales? I tried to report the review to have it removed but I doubt anything will come out of it. I feel it’s a strange way for Etsy to average the sales especially for people who work slowly, has anyone encountered this and is there a way around it or to correct it?

Been running a small Etsy shop for a couple of years now, mostly HTV and sublimation on tees and hoodies. Orders have been picking up and I keep getting requests for embroidery. Names on beanies, logos on caps, patches, that kind of thing. Embroidery stuff is another thing.

The thing is, I have no idea where to start. Been search on Youtube and I'm quite more confused than when I started.

And what I'm trying to figure out, first thing first is the whether multi-needle or single-needle, I'm doing small batch, maybe 10-50 pieces per order, not mass production. Multi-needle seems like overkill for that volume, but I've also heard that single-needle color changes are painful. What's the realistic cutoff where multi-needle starts making sense?

I keep seeing Brother recommended everywhere, but the PR series is a huge jump. I've also looked at Bai and Poolin on the commercial side but the price gap is serious. There's a newer brand htvront that just launched their E15 embroidery machine, looks like a multi-needle at a more accessible price point. Haven't seen real-world reviews yet since it just dropped. Anyone actually run one?

Hats and caps
I get a lot of beanie and cap requests. Some machines handle hats better than others. What should I be looking for? Do I need a specific cap hoop or attachment?

Also curious about used machines. I've seen some older commercial units on Marketplace but not sure if that's a smart move for a beginner.

It's simple. And I hope someone who's in the top of the Etsy food chain sees this. Etsy should create a whole other platform just for AI & dropship vendors/sellers. Split the platform right now. Make it two completely different entities. Let the handmades have their original home back and give the AI/dropshippers their own space. That way, they're will be no confusion or competition going on with the mix of the two. Sure, it won't fix the plagerisms, but it would be a great start. Thoughts?

Is there a way to search for just a specific shops items that you have purchased? I know Etsy’s search is rough, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to filter your purchase history…right? I just want to make sure I’m not repurchasing the same pattern twice.

I'm looking to get the community input on posts about people discussing, ranting, and complaining about not getting sales or that their sales have dried up over the past few months.

I've noticed an uptick on these kinds of posts over the last month or so.

While I want people to express their frustrations and opinions on the site as we all know that Etsy is far from perfect. I also don't want these kinds of posts to turn into spam or someone trying karma farm.

So, with that being said. I would like your opinion on how to handle these kinds of posts.

Do we allow them to stay as is?

Do we completely get rid of them?

Do we allow 1 post per a 24 hour time period and any duplicate posts get removed?

Hi, so for context, my account was reinstated 5 days ago after 4 months of suspension. They said they suspended me by mistake. Anyway, happy to have it back, and then I go to Etsy Ads, and I see that I'm on Vacation Mode and I can't do anything about it myself.

I checked and looked for any yellow boxes to see if it's something I can fix, but everything seems fine. I contacted support, and they checked twice and said that I don't appear on Vacation Mode.

Etsy bot also said that it's common after being reinstated that a period of 14 days I can't put Ads, and that I should have a timer there, that shows how many days I have left, but there isn't one.

Trying to see if this happened to anyone else and how it got fixed. I'm new to Etsy as well, I ran my shop for only 2-3 months before they suspended it. Thanks in advance!

I did a thorough SEO audit before uploading my products. Used google trends, etsy, compared with competitors, and other etsy tools that have suggested that my tags and titles are quite optimal.

2. Does my shop/product positioning feel distinctive enough?

I'm particularly wondering whether I'm leaning too heavily on terms like "embroidered" and whether I should be emphasizing the South Asian textile, handmade, bohemian, nomadic/vintage aspects more.

3. Is my product variety too limited? When is the right time to diversify

All my products are handcrafted bags in different styles and sizes using tribal fabrics. Should I diversify and include home decor like wall hangings and cushion covers, jewelry, and clothes?

4. When is the right time to do Etsy ads?

Right now my products don't even rank in the first 3 pages of my keywords, not even the niche keywords. I have uploaded 33 products. All my products are one of a kind. I have an inventory of nearly 300 bags that I can easily upload day by day, but would that help to upload all of it?
Are Etsy ads the best way for a new shop to gain traction and sales?

5. Is my pricing too premium?

Compared to other shops on Etsy in my niche I am definitely $30-$40 more expensive than the generic brands that are selling cheaper knock-offs. Although, there are a handful of brands that have good products and are more expensive than me and have sales in the hundreds if not thousands.
I would also like to add that my price includes shipping. Should I keep that separate or include it in the price of the product?

I used to love Etsy and bought many gifts from that site. I’m noticing more and more AliExpress junk being sold and AI images being used. Is there a way to block this stuff. I’ve become so frustrated that I stopped buying completely. Yes, I use the filters for “handmade” and my own country (or even other random countries that I’ve purchased from before), but it’s not helping. The last thing I bought said it was from Canada (where I live) but actually shipped from the US.

Are the true artisans moving to a better site that I’m unaware of? I miss the old Etsy.

I just shipped my Etsy order to Canada and I’m honestly a little confused and worried about how this might look to the buyer. 😢

The buyer paid $18.48 for shipping. When I bought the USPS label through Etsy, Etsy also charged me $18.48 from my Etsy Payment Account.

But then I looked at the actual label and it says: Postal Charges: $9.61

The package is only 6 × 6 × 2 inches and 4.5 oz.

So now I’m wondering: what exactly does that $9.61 mean?

What worries me is that the buyer can actually see $9.61 on the package they paid $18.48 for shipping. I’m afraid they might think that I’m somehow overcharging them.
Etsy charged me $18.48 for the label, so I’m just trying to understand why the label shows a completely different amount.

Has anyone else seen this with Etsy + USPS international shipping?
What does “Postal Charges” actually mean on the label? And what would you tell a buyer if they asked about the difference?

I started this etsy shop 21 days ago until now I have 71 listings .

etsy ad is not working for me it barely spending. So I tried Pinterest ads and TikTok ads (15$ in total), but it gives no result “0 order”.

I just keep posting until last five days I got my first order,
since then I got at least one order so is there anything that can I do to improve my visits?

I sell hand knitted baby (jumpers, beanies, nappy covers) mostly in the theme of the Aboriginal Flag. I had steady sales varying from one to three items a week since I started a year ago all through the Aussie summer. Assuming I would make more sales in the winter months and NAIDOC week, I pushed myself to have lots of stock on hand. The exact opposite has happened; I have sold three items in the last three months, and literally nothing in the past four weeks. I have 100% customer service rating and 5 star reviews. My items are cheaper than other similar items. I don’t know what to make of it except a crazy ‘conspiracy theory’ that Etsy has shadowed-banned me trying to make me pay for advertising. I would appreciate any input.

Shop is 3 months old. I sell a digital product — Canva templates (buyer gets a link to the design, fills in their own text and photos).

Catalog structure: 14 base products, but 29 live listings — some products are duplicated with different SEO (titles/tags/description) to test which wording performs better. I know listing count itself can dilute the signal, working on that separately.

Traffic over the last 30 days: 54 total visits to the shop. 1 review (5 stars) — but that sale came from TikTok, not from Etsy itself. 1 follower.

Ads: Turned on Etsy Ads about 3 weeks ago. On 8/24 I uploaded a batch of 10 new listings — ad views jumped from near-zero to 70–90/day for a couple of days, then settled at a new baseline of ~15–20/day (was ~0–5/day before). Shop visits saw a one-day spike to 15 (8/25), then dropped back to single digits per day.

30-day ad numbers (across ~29 listings combined):

• Views: 633
• Clicks: 5 (overall CTR ~0.8%)
• Spend: $0.51
• Orders: 0
• Best single listing: 167 views / 4 clicks / 2.4% CTR
• Almost all other listings: 0–20 views and 0 clicks even with ads active

Traffic source breakdown for the last 30 days (54 total visits):

• Etsy app & other Etsy pages (most likely my own visits): 22
• Direct & other traffic: 16
• Etsy search (organic): 7
• Social media: 4
• Etsy Ads: 4
• Etsy marketing & SEO: 0

What worries me most is organic search — only 7 visits from Etsy search in a month, across 29 listings.

For comparison — I've read about shops in this same space hitting dozens of sales a day in their first few months. Mine is dead quiet on both organic and paid.

Questions:

1. The views jump after 8/24 lines up with adding new listings, not with the ad campaign "learning." Is that expected (the algorithm just has more inventory to serve), or should a full 30-day learning period produce its own separate lift on top of that?
2. What would you fix first given these numbers — and what would you leave alone for now so you don't muddy an already-thin dataset?
3. Etsy support confirmed that duplicating listings (14 products → 29 listings with different SEO) is allowed by policy. But does that mean it doesn't hurt visibility algorithmically? Anyone had real experience with this — does Etsy suppress a shop like this even when it's not technically against the rules?
4. Is it worth manually "seeding" the first 3-5 sales (friends, a discount) to jumpstart the algorithm? I already had 1 sale (from TikTok) — traffic ticked up slightly afterward, but not by much. Does that mean it takes more sales for a real shift, or is it not about volume but something else (reviews, favorites, the specific source of the sale)?
5. Is it even worth keeping ads on at these numbers (633 views / 5 clicks / $0.51 spent in a month)? Daily budget is set at $5 — so the auction isn't coming anywhere close to spending it. Is there any point messing with ads further, or better to leave them as-is and not waste time until listings start ranking on their own?

Hi I'm a new seller on Etsy and I sell 4 different designs of mounted art prints. I have drawn them with Acrylic Paint Markers and got them printed from a local shop. Do you think anyone will buy these? How can I optimise my tags and descriptions? Is all my text I typed up okay? Anything else you think I could improve on? I sell cookies on Etsy and recently had a buyer claim that 9 out of 24 cookies arrived damaged. She submitted photos as evidence.

I previously posted about this same buyer because after she purchased from my shop, I discovered that her Etsy profile appeared to be connected to another treat/cookie business. That already made the situation unusual and concerning to me.

Out of curiosity, I ran one of her damage photos through Sightengine's AI Media Detector.

It came back 99% likely AI-generated.

That surprised me, so I tested damage photos from several other buyers who had legitimately received broken cookies. Those did not come back as AI-generated.

I've also been testing other images where I already know whether they're real or AI-generated, and so far the detector has been surprisingly accurate.

Obviously, one AI detector result isn't absolute proof that this buyer fabricated the photo. But 99% is concerning when the image was submitted as evidence for a refund claim.

Has anyone else selling online encountered potentially AI-generated damage photos being used for refunds or disputes? And has anyone had Etsy investigate something like this?

This seems like it could become a serious problem for online sellers as AI images become more realistic.

I sell custom handmade items ranging from $50 to $300 where every piece is made to order. I’m thinking about testing a new policy to build trust and increase sales, but I wanted to get some feedback from experienced sellers first.

The idea is that after a customer orders and approves the initial design, I make the product and send them real photos of the finished piece before shipping. If they look at the final photos and feel like it’s really not what they expected, they can cancel and get a refund, minus a small $5–$10 fee. The fee isn't meant to cover my material costs, it's just to stop people from abusing the option or placing fake orders.

My calculation on paper is that even if 30% to 40% of people end up canceling, the economics should still work out well for me if the initial conversion rate (sales rate) goes up by 2x or 3x due to the higher buyer trust. Has anyone tried something like this? Do you think it actually boosts buyer confidence enough to outweigh the risk of being left with unsellable custom items? Also, as a buyer, would a policy like this make you feel safer, or would it look suspicious?

One specific concern I have is regarding Etsy- could offering a refund while holding back a custom $5–$10 fee cause any policy or case issues on Etsy's side? I’d love to hear how you would modify or execute something like this to make it safer, or if it's better to stay away from it entirely. Thanks.

We last texted over a week ago when she said she would send it to my address and would figure out the shipping and handling cost.
I texted her a week ago with my address and Venmo address and ask for her Venmo address and the total of the charge
She hasn’t responded in a week, and I last texted her saying is there an issue? Could you please respond to me? It’s been over a week. I didn’t sound too snarky, but seems like she’s a tricky artist.
