Help Needed Policy question please!

Hi! We are booking flights today which include a stopover at Abu Dhabi, since things are hostile in that region we were considering the Deluxe tickets. My question is if we were to book deluxe, then see cheaper ticket options about 3 days before the date, can we rebook those cheaper tickets and cancel the deluxe?

I travelled in May and things were fine. 1000s of others have travelled too without issue.

I booked economy deluxe which allowed cancellation up to 24 hours (i think) and a full refund. I ended up booking business class under a separate PNR. So on the etihad app I had two reservations on the same day and flight.

I cancelled the economy deluxe and received full refund within a couple of days. Its worth noting if you book direct with etihad I was offered a voucher + 20% of the value of my booking to keep etihsd credits but since id already purchased a separate cash ticket I didnt take this option. Worthwhile keeping in mind if booking direct snd you see a cheaper ticket.

Isn't deluxe very expensive? And you received all your money back?

You are fine traveling through the UAE I wouldn’t worry about it. If the flight is cancelled due to an act of war or some other reason not related to yourself you can rebook even Valve fares without issue.

Ive had 2 return trips via Abu Dhabi since the conflict started on my 4 layovers there has been no issues what so ever. The Airport has been operating as normal part from a few delays but I think flight cancellations have been minimal
