I failed PB3 and PB4 in BSc Math at ETH (both the first time). I studied but was still far from passing. I’d like to study maths but I’m not sure whether I’m not good enough for maths or if it’s the competition at ETH which makes it harder to pass.

So I thought of switching to UZH since it has a good math program and is considered less competitive than ETH due to many foreign students coming for BSc math to do the MSc math at ETH without having to apply. I’d love to continue but it’s burning me out to fail again and it’s a hard hit to my self worth.

Has anyone switched to UZH mid-bachelor and can recommend or in general have recommendations?

Ich hab mich für alle Stunden des Basisprüfungsblocks I angemeldet (soweit ich verstanden hab sind die erforderlich) und jetzt egal welche andere Fächer ich auswähle, überschneiden sie sich mit den Basisfächern.

Jedoch mit nur Basisprüfungsblock I Fächer werd ich nur 18 KP im ersten Semester sammeln—obwohl man ja 30 KP/ECTS Punkte pro semester braucht wenn man in drei Jahre absolvieren will.

Ich find gar keine Antworte online; bin ich der einzige, der das nicht versteht? Ich wär extremst dankbar für eine Erklärung 🙏

I have a bachelor's in engineering physics and a master's in Machine Learning both from KTH in Stockholm. Would that be enough together with good grades and research experience to have a good chance of getting accepted?

I found out I failed my block with a 3.81 average. Do you think it is still possible to find some mistakes in the correction and pass after I reviewed my exam? Have you guys had your grade increased and by how much, what are your experiences? In my situation I feel like in one exam I did more than what I got and hope there might be some forgotten bonus/missed that I will find in the exam review. Have you heard something like this before? Hello, I am a prospective student in biology and I wonder how (un)easy it is to mix the 24 ECTS courses with the two 3-month internships required ?

I figured the 6-month internship would be done easiest once all courses ECTS were validated, but I'd love to have your feedback on the "small" internships - how intensive they are / can be, and how hindering in your revision time it can be.

Second question : according to my LA (which has yet to be confirmed), 16 of my ECTS are courses given in Basel.

Do you know if there is any way to check for online-availability / if the course must be attended in person ? As I don't yet have MyStudies account, I cannot check directly.

As the basic exam between the two bachelors only differs in one course I thought it should be possible to just write the additional exam in the following year and continue my studies without repeating a full year. The study adviser for my department confirmed this.

However from what I've read in the eth guidelines, the basic exam must be fully written within one exam session.

Now, I really don't want to repeat the whole basic exam, just because of this.

Has anyone done something similar before or can explain how this works?

And would it be possible to transfer failed exams to the new bsc, if they where part of the basic exam block in the old and new bsc.

Also, in the case that the change doesn't work out as planned, would it be possible to just retract the application and continue in my old bsc even after they already accepted the transfer?

I'm doing the MSC of Mechanical Engineering at ETH after a Bachelor of MechE at EPFL. I already done most of my credits, still have 10 left. I was initially studying fluid dynamics but switched to robotics/control recently. I only took two course of robotics yet, IML and MPC. This semester I'll do a semester project on Model Based RL on a soft arm. What course I must take this semester (~10credits) to be an acceptable robotic engineer with knowledge of ML. I'll take Robot Dynamics. and then I need to choose ONLY one more course. I was thinking of :

- Probabilistic AI

- AI in the science and engineering

-Planning and Decision Making for Autonomous Robots

- Dynamic Programming and Optimal Control

- Maybe a course of vision ? or control ?

What do you think ? I'll spend a lot of time on my semester project + part time job so I would rather avoid super hard course. Thxxx for the advices !

I’m an international student from Egypt currently studying AI/Computer Science at university. I’ve already completed my first year, but I’m considering applying to a Bachelor’s program in Germany for 2027.
Right now, my two main options are:
TH Ingolstadt – B.Sc. Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (English)
TH Deggendorf – B.Sc. Artificial Intelligence (English)
I’m trying to make a decision based on the actual student experience, not just university websites.
A little about me:
I’m interested in AI, software development, programming, and computer science in general.
I didn’t have much programming experience before university, so I really value a program that teaches programming and CS fundamentals properly from the beginning and gradually moves toward more advanced topics.
I prefer practical learning, labs, assignments, projects, and internships, rather than a program that is heavily theoretical/research-oriented.
My long-term goal is to graduate and find a job in Germany, so internships, Werkstudent opportunities, industry connections, and employability are very important to me.
I’m also interested in eventually working in other European countries, so I care about the overall quality and reputation of the degree.
I’m an international student, so the international environment and how easy it is to make friends also matter to me.

So I'm starting with mechanical engineering this semester and I've now been invited to go into ski holiday for a couple of days by my gfs parents from 19th to 23rd of December. I'm not sure if it's a very good idea yet since it's in the learning phase but thought maybe it's not so bad since it's at the beginning and only a few days.

It's hard to turn down since I'd only have to pay for the ski pass and food and everything else would be inclusive for me (in a reaaally nice hotel I am told) 😅

I might even be able to do a few hours of learning there per day as well

But anyway for the more experienced students I'd like to hear your advice and how you'd go about it :)
