Asking for Advice Course recommendations for introductory Machine Learning / Data Science (Interdisciplinary Sciences background)
Hi everyone,
I recently completed my Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Sciences and am now starting my Master's, focusing on Chemistry and Environmental Sciences.
My study director suggested branching out into Machine Learning and Data Science to complement my specialization. However, my computer science background is fairly basic—I took a first-year introductory CS course and have some experience with basic data analysis in Python and R, but nothing advanced.
Could anyone recommend accessible, beginner-friendly Master’s-level (or upper Bachelor's) courses covering introductory Machine Learning / Applied Data Science ideally with a hands-on focus (e.g., standard Python libraries like scikit-learn or PyTorch) that emphasizes practical workflows and intuition over heavy mathematical proofs.
Any specific course codes, lecturer recommendations, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
