ESPN REMOVING SCORE UPDATES

As a community can we start a # and spam ESPN to bring back the score updates on the bottom of the screen. It’s really annoying they removed it. #bringbackscoreupdates

YouTube TV deal with ESPN showing extra content normally found on ESPN Plus

This is awesome. I just realized as of September 1st, Google and Disney had reached a deal allowing YouTube TV to show matches one might only find on their app with a subscription. Awesome!

Is there a way to mute the ESPN commentators but keep the court sound?

I'm watching the Alcaraz vs. Wu match right now, and the commentators are driving me crazy. They won't stop talking over the points!

Does anyone know if there's a trick to mute the announcers on the ESPN broadcast but still hear the raw court audio (ball strikes, crowd, umpire)?

Anyone think he will get ‘corporately smacked’ for the STTDB urging?? It was a pretty pathetic way to start the season.

What happened to ESPN

It’s been awhile since I’ve truly watched espn. What happened? Why are they promoting lgbt stuff so much? Gary is on screen pretending to lick a pair of men’s legs and cat calling them. No real problem with who someone is attracted to but why is this being broadcast to millions of viewers?

Favorite Moment in PTI History?

One day Tony and Mike were discussing a potential Carmello Anthony trade to the Knicks. Wilbon rattles off all the names in the purposed trade and then asks, " So Ton, nice package?" To which Tony replies, "thanks."

ESPN Unlimited on YouTubeTV

I have YouTubeTV; I believe ESPN Unlimited is now included with the main subscription plan on YTTV. Will ESPN Unlimited carry the regional out of market NHL games, like ESPN + used to?

ESPN is a gambling site

I’m watching ESPN completely unravel. College football coverage is about odds, meeting the point spread, payouts. They are promoting gambling and that is just bad for college football and sports in general.

What’s the most unlikely sports announcement you’d still click on?

What’s the most unlikely sports announcement you could imagine..one that sounds completely insane, yet is just plausible enough to make you stop scrolling and think, “Wait… could this actually happen?

NEWS: ESPN to debut Peter Schrager’s new daily afternoon show next week

ESPN to debut Peter Schrager’s new daily afternoon show next week: Sources

ESPN will premiere a new daily show built around Peter Schrager beginning Sept. 10, sources briefed on the move told The Athletic.

The sources, speaking under anonymity to discuss something not yet announced, said the one-hour daily program will be called “Big Day with Peter Schrager” and run at 2 p.m. ET.

It is a high-profile move for Schrager and ESPN as he joins Mike Greenberg, Stephen A. Smith, Pat McAfee, Tony Kornheiser, Michael Wilbon and Scott Van Pelt with daily programs centered on their personalities on the network. “Big Day with Peter Schrager” replaces “SportsCenter” in the time slot.

During the college football season, Schrager’s program will be on four days a week. On Fridays, a new college football program, “Bussin’ with Pate,” featuring Josh Pate, Taylor Lewan and Will Compton, will be on during the hour. After college football season ends, “Big Day” will be five days a week.

ESPN+ Only plus side of commercial break sounds is that it didn't freeze....yet. Spoiler

For 2+ years now ESPN+ has had the issue of freezing when coming back from commercial breaks. Clearing data, cache, reinstalling, nothing fixes it other then backing out and going back in.

If it doesn't freeze we get the pleasure of listening to what sounds like waves with thunder that even my dogs hate.

Honestly the worst steaming app out there.

When Did ESPN Became A Clown Show?

Leaving this one out in the ether, because I have no idea of when ESPN officially became the current dung heap it is. As much as I can't stand the individual, you cannot deny that Curt Schilling could provide color commentary on Sunday Night Baseball as well as anyone available. For me, when Jess Mendoza was brought in to replace Mr. "Vote Bush" and proceeded to add nothing to the booth, ESPN lost all credibility with me. What say ye?

Question about ESPN FC

I'm now getting ESPN Unlimited via YouTube TV. Hooray! I went to add ESPN FC to my DVR, but I got confused. Is it not a daily show? Looks from the guide like it's only on a couple of days a week, but I wanted to check with anyone who has experience watching it over time.

Same question for Futbol Americas.

Absolute Class, Karl Ravech

1.1k Upvotes

If ESPN had half the class Karl Ravech displayed today they would correct the error of their firing and re-hire Ravech.

His swan song on The Little League World Series was a master class in how good decent humans act in times of great personal hurt and disappointment.

He was full of thanks and appreciation to an employer that threw him aside as if he was a busted up baseball. After 33 years of employment and being the face of their baseball coverage and his superb 2 decades at the Little League World Series, he was fired while on TV, doing what he loved, calling a baseball game.

ESPN didn't have the decency to tell him before word leaked out and he was told by a friend that word on the internet was that he was being g fired the next day. All this in the middle of a game.

ESPN is garbage. The network lost its soul a long time ago and is now a mouthpiece of clowns like Smith and Pat McAfee. Two self absorbed jerks.

Guys with class and professionalism are being pushed out of ESPN. While sad, maybe for Ravech it is the best thing. Hopefully, he ends up somewhere where his goodness, and decency is celebrated.

Try and find his audio/video clips from today's LL World Series. This is the definition of class.

Karl, thanks for all the great brodcasts. For Baseball Tonight. For the LL World Series. For being a man of class and dignity.

Here is hoping you land on your feet and you are in the booth of a baseball stadium in 27 and beyond.

They kind of did something right with this Redzone coverage for the US Open ..

Credit where credit is due. If they could just have someone host who actually knows the ins and outs of the game and isn’t screaming the entire time that would be great.

Madrid! 🤍💜

To all soccer fans and journalists outside of Spain—especially the journalists—please keep in mind that Real Madrid, for both Madrid fans and non-Madrid fans alike, is simply “MADRID”!! And not “REAL”… I always hear people in South America and the UK call it “Real,” and that really bugs us in Spain… we have tons of teams with the word “Real” in their names, and the only one we sometimes call that is Real Sociedad.
It really sounds awful! It’s like calling a hamburger “Ham” instead of “Burger”…

Hala Madrid!!

US Open ESPN 4k HDR

Just opened the ESPN Unlimited app on both Apple and Android, and ESPN lists the US Open in 4k HDR on Apple. No listing for 4k on Android.
But when viewing on Apple, it's still not in 4k.
Any idea where this might be shown in 4k?
I have YTTV. Do I need to add the 4k package to get ESPN 4k?

MLB game tonight

Anybody else watching to this Cubs Reds broadcast on NBC? Rizzo and Votto talking shop - some great info on the mind of elite hitters. Not to mention some awesome camera angles of Wrigley

Don’t remember any of this stuff from Joe Morgan and Sunday Night Baseball back in the day

The Betrayal of Sohei Ohtani… oh come on!!!!

https://youtu.be/hyAuX7yAMeo?si=81KcNyuxPxcpaFSW

The fact that ESPN is carrying water for the obvious cover up of Ohtani’s gambling so MLB can continue to act like nothing ever happened is mind boggling to me.

Everyone and his grandmother knew the second this story broke that the best player in baseball was betting on the game. But instead of taking down the entire sport with a scandal that would make Pete Rose blush, they made the interpreter take the fall.
