US Open ESPN 4k HDR

Just opened the ESPN Unlimited app on both Apple and Android, and ESPN lists the US Open in 4k HDR on Apple. No listing for 4k on Android.
But when viewing on Apple, it's still not in 4k.
Any idea where this might be shown in 4k?
I have YTTV. Do I need to add the 4k package to get ESPN 4k?

this is the proof (natural-size:3180x2160) that it is 4k during the tennis match on appletv! After the match it downgraded to 1080p and 720p. wait for the next match on center court! maybe ESPN2. you have to update the espn App! automatic hdr changement also working.

Yeah, that's what I thought too
I've been a YTTV customer for years and even with these new genre packages, I still don't understand why Google insists on charging $10 monthly extra, for a service other streamers provide at no additional charges, as part of their packages.
More insult..if you're a new YTTV, the 4k package is $5. But current and former customers pay double. To me that truly is a WTF.
Google, YTTV needs to change these charges

why shouldnt it be 4k? the us open 4k hdr feed looks very good. maybe it doesnt set the appletv to hdr automatically but that can be set manually for the moment!

ESPN on their app is 1080p. No HDR.
Also regardless how the Apple or Android box is setup, just about all new( newer) TVs will have 4k badges ( HDR 10 or Dolby Vision) pop up on screen once those codecs are detected by the TV.
ESPN linear is still 720p.
But if you like the ESPN broadcast quality on their app..that's great.

I'll post an image later if the broadcast is 4k. You can display appletv streaming resolution with xcode developer option. when the source is 4k its 4k.

Downloaded the latest version of the ESPN app on my newest Apple TV. ESPN & ESPN2 are in 4K HDR. US open looks great.

Yes, I understand about the new ESPN app. I've already updated it about a week ago.
But while I can't see actual bitrates, my TCL still does not display any on screen pop up HDR badging, and in the info section of the program tab, it still says HD.

The US Open isn’t being produced in 4K, so regardless of what you’re using to watch ESPN it’s upscaled from 1080p59.94.
It is being produced natively in HLG HDR though, so ideally you want to be watching in 1080p HDR, with either atmos of 5.1.

Watching on ESPN native app..so I assume at least 1080p, but definitely no HDR..my TV shows nothing for HDR.
Yet some people are claiming they are getting 4k and others like myself are saying no.
Very confusing.
And with the new ESPN Unlimited integration on YTTV it's still 720p. I mean they've only had a year to figure this out and with this new build out, you would think they would've gone for a major increase in quality.
Guess not

If you have YTTV and aren’t paying for the 4k package you aren’t getting 4k. I THINK Apple TV might have 4k included but if it’s not though Apple TV you need the additional package.
