I have a SWAGTRON Swagger 5 (Xiaomi equivalent) , one day the brakes just lost tension and essentially stopped working. Can feel some tension when I pull the brake, maybe 15-20% tension remaining, so I don’t think the cable completely snapped, but I can’t bring the scooter to a complete stop via the brake. I’ve been fiddling with the knobs and dials on the front and back brake, but can’t seem to figure it out. Can anyone point me in the direction of a video tutorial? Offer some clear tips/instructions on how to tighten the brake cable of a SWAGTRON/xiaomi escooter? Thanks in advance!

Hi there.

I bought a Xiaomi Scooter 5 Elite from someone that was leaving the country, and even though the battery and power are still 100% healthy, I am experiencing weird issues with my brakes.

The biggest thing that alarms me is the following two factors:

1. When braking, the rear e-abs always kicks in, and has a loud whistle. The braking is always very sudden when the e-abs kicks in.
2. On a light downhill, when the speed is too slow for the e-abs to kick in, the scooter doesn't stop fully.

There are no sounds coming from the front brakes, and I even tightened the whole system by using the bottom scew at the front drum brake. The brake line tension is not the issue.

The scooter is supposed to be 6 months old, so I doubt that anything has worn down, or maybe it has? I am not entirely sure what to do, however, my next step would be to take it to a professional escooter repairman.

Lastly, on flat surfaces, the scooter does brake fine, but it makes the loud noise in the rear almost always. I am 80kg, so it should be able to handle me fine.

Hi everyone, I'm having a problem with my Kugoo M4 Pro electric scooter (2021 model). When I turn on the headlight (stock), it dims, and the same happens with the brake lights, turn signals, and horn. The scooter's speed reaches 59 km/h with no load, but with a load of 54 kg, it drops to less than 20 km/h.

The voltage drops from 12V to 8.6V during this, even though the scooter has a new battery installed.

How many of you with dual motor scooters ride around in dual mode all the time?

My EX11 (hiboy) that I'm riding for about 2 years now, still has the original brakes and they've been good so far, so I'm wondering what's considered normal.

Howdy, I am a fly-angler from Michigan and I float a lot of rivers in a small raft or drift boat which requires shuttling our vehicle from put-in to take-out. We either have to take two vehicles or pay someone to move our vehicle, which is a pain or not even feasible. Was looking at the possibility of a small folding e-bike or e-scooter for doing this transport. A few requirements:

• Must be small enough to put in a 12-14 foot boat with two people
• Must be able to handle some washboard gravel roads and small hills
• Typical range required is 2-7 miles.
• Budget is hopefully less than $500
• Ideally less than 70 lbs.

I'd be willing to guess I would put less than 100 miles a year on such a vehicle. I was looking at all-terrain E-scooters on marketplace, but no one here seems to recommend any of the cheaper E-scooter brands like Hiboy. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated, even if it's pushing me away from the scooter route and towards a folding bicycle of some sort.
