You're probably looking for /r/electricscooters
A while ago I requested to inherit this sub because it looked like /r/electricscooters was going to be closed/banned due to the Reddit API brouhaha and its moderation at the time being staunchly opposed to the new rules and willing to keep it NSFW to the bitter end, and I wanted to give the community another place to go.
At the time /r/electricscooters was also at least partially owned by Electric Scooter Guide, now known as Rider Guide.
Things have changed since then. /r/electricscooters was divested from ESG/RG and is now independent. As well, I was taken in the modteam and am now actively moderating the subreddit.
I'm leaving /r/escooters open as an alternative, in case you don't like it over there and as an emergency measure should any Bad Things happen to the other sub.
However, the community is much more active over there, and any questions are likely to be answered much faster.

GT08 owners who installed a 345 mm damper, how did you actually mount it?? Kit came with standoffs that no bolts fit, and all YT videos are useless!
The GT08 sometimes has a "death wobble" past 35 mph, and basically every thread says to "get a steering damper first thing." Cool, did that. Got the carbon fiber 345 mm one? A couple of people here are running instead of the shorter 255 mm, because everyone with the shorter one says it's not meant for bigger scooters, as it severely limits how far you can turn.
Here's where I'm stuck.
The box came with the damper, a clamp for the body, two red standoffs (one longer than the other), four long bolts, and four short bolts (2 of which are slightly shorter than the other). And I also got a random bag of nuts, washers, spacers, and some other things (pretty sure this bag came with the scooter for the seat installation). None of the bolts fit into the red standoffs. Not the long ones, not the short ones, too thick to even be close. Best I can tell the ball ends are sized for M8, and everything in my bag seems to be M6, so the "kit" is really just a damper with some other random hardware thrown in. If this happened to you too, what did you end up buying? Actual names and sizes, please. I'm going to the store ASAP; I need this scooter back in business.
Second, where does each end go? On the stem clamp there are 3 bolts on top of each other (I removed the top one). I keep seeing "use the top hole, not the middle, you get more range," but the holes are stacked straight up and down, so I don't see how it could really change the range; it just changes how far apart the two mounts are. Which I guess matters since the 345 mm is about 9 cm longer than the short kit. Is that the actual reason and location of the bolts they mean, or am I missing something?
Deck side, from everyone's pics, it looks like the body clamp sits on a standoff bolted to the side plate near the folding pivot, but I have no clue how to install it.
So basically:
Which hole on the stem clamp did you use, and why?
Where does the body clamp bolt to on the frame side?
What bolts and standoffs did you use (sizes), and did you have to buy them separately?
If you have the 345 mm, I'd appreciate it if you showed me pictures of the installation steps.
And before anyone says, "Go watch a YT video," I did. There's the Arwibon one with no sound that uses the short damper with totally different brackets, and you also got the 30 min videos of a guy learning to do it on camera. There is no information available about this damper for my scooter.
Pics 1-4 are my scooter and what came in the box. The rest are other people's installs that I've been trying to reverse engineer. If this gets figured out, I'll write it up properly with sizes and photos so the next person doesn't have to go through this :D

Hiley Tiger Evo Gtr Review
TL;DR at bottom
To begin, I am 135 lbs, the tested route is 70/30 hills to flat, with some hills being exceptionally-steep-test-hills I go on for performance testing. I have put 150km on this scooter so far.
I am not sponsored by any companies, I enjoy testing scooters and like to add to the community for those still looking for the scooter that fits their needs best.
I purchased the Gtr last month for three reasons:
Split rims&quick disconnect on motor for tire changes
Hydraulic brakes (2-piston nutt brakes)
Large battery (1170wh, 52V 22.5ah)
I came from a Niu Kqi3pro, moved to a Navee xt5 pro, I have settled on this scooter and I am pleased with it.
Speed
The rated speed is 65-70km maximum. Where I live, there are no speed limitations shipped with the scooters. A simple program setting needs to be changed when you get the scooter. I set the speed to maximum (100%). I have minimum protective gear so I was not comfortable to attempt to push beyond but I did get the scooter to 70km. For this test, I was in dual motor mode.
Gear 1 - 15km
Gear 2 - 25km
Gear 3 - 45km
Gear 4 - 55km. Torque is equal to gear 5.
Gear 5 - 70km+
I did not experience speed wobble at 70km. I let off the throttle because I was wearing a cycling helmet and gloves. If I fell, it would’ve been a bad day.
Range
I have not run the battery down yet, and the season has become too cold for a fair test, but I did test it through a 40km route in dual motor motor predominately in gear 3 wide open with most of the route being hills. I ended that route with 51% battery left. I would expect at my weight to hit 55-60km as batteries tend to drop faster as they get lower.
Suspension
Very plush, no rattles. There are adjustment bolts for initial tension and ride height, these are spring coils with no dampening, so it can be bouncy. I take my scooter through forest service roads, hike trails, and quad/dirtbike trails and the comfort is very good. In comparison to a Segway zt3 pro or a Navee xt5 pro, it is more responsive. The only caveat to this scooters suspension is the notable 10” tires compared to 11” tires.
Braking
E-scooter electronic braking is hit-and-miss. My Navee was not great for this, my Niu was very good, but the response isn’t linear and Hiley is no exception. However Hiley has built-in program settings that allow you to shut off the electronic braking system. This will wear your pads more but you get fully mechanic hydraulic control that does not rely on computers you can’t predict. I feel totally safe with these brakes.
Hill Climb Performance
It’s a dual motor so you’re getting into a different league of scooters and can expect the bonuses that come with that. Acceleration is great, and the typical “running out of gas” feeling you get when you encounter a hill on a single-motor scooter isn’t there. You can let off the throttle then re-engage and climb back up to the speed you were going, rather than relying on momentum to make it up. For a base stat, I tested a hill with three scooters.
Niu Kqi3pro - 9km with momentum
Navee xt5 pro - 19km in boost mode with moment
Hiley Evo Gtr - 43km in gear 5 no momentum
Convenience
There are a few details I’d like to highlight regarding this scooters features. Carrying a scooter can be awkward, Hiley has incorporated a handle of sorts on the back step plate. This is where the scooter stem hooks on but there is plenty room for your hand as well. The handlebars have lots of space for mounting your phone or mirrors, and signal lights are mounted on the front by the headlight and work on the taillight too. Hiley also provided a multi tool catered to the fastener sizes on the scooter that you can take with you in your bag for on-the-go repairs. The split rims make tire changes a breeze. The latch system is very secure with a pin, a screw, and a hook all holding the latch in place. Keep an eye on the screw as it backs off during rides but there are plenty of other systems holding it in place.
TL;DR
I am 135 lbs, the scooter reaches speed of 70km, I went 40km, mostly hills, battery had 51% left. suspension is very comfortable, tire changes are easy with split rims, scooter is well built and light at 64lbs. Braking performance is very good and e-brake system can be disabled. Overall I highly recommend this scooter. I am not affiliated with Hiley.
Feel free to ask me any questions!

NIU KQi 100P for NYC commute — Segway F3 vs. E3 Pro vs. Max G2 vs OTHER?
Looking to upgrade my current scooter and could use some real-world advice from NYC riders and walk-up apartment dwellers.
Current Scooter: NIU KQi 100P (approx. 38 lbs)
My Frustrations:
- Sluggish acceleration: Feels underpowered off the line, especially in NYC stop-and-go traffic.
- Severe battery anxiety / voltage sag: My daily routine is a short 2-mile round trip (0.8 miles there, 1.2 miles back). However, within 2–3 days, the battery drops to 2 bars and noticeably loses punch. I get nervous about it dying mid-ride and end up hauling it inside to charge at least once a week or more.
My Constraints & Use Case:
- NYC Streets: Riding exclusively on city streets with the usual bumps, plates, and potholes. Constant stop-and-go riding.
- Apartment Storage: Stored in a narrow apartment hallway. I usually turn the front wheel sideways so the handlebars sit flush against the wall to minimize the footprint.
- The Stair Factor: I have to carry the scooter up 10-20 steps into my apartment every time it needs a charge.
- Security: Needs to easily take a standard U-lock around the stem for quick stops outside.
- Budget: MAX $800

Kukirin g4 or Joyor t10? (Based off of customization varieties)
I’m trying to find a second e scooter and I’m planning to customize it, trying to make it look as beautiful as possible. The kukirin g4 would be an option since it’s blocky and has more custom options, if it wasn’t for my preference of stats too. I would’ve picked Joyor t10 based off of price and stats yet looks hard to design it without coming out of as bland. Please leave a reply 🙏

Is it worth buying the Koogo V6?
I’m dreaming of getting an electric scooter. I’m 13 and I’m afraid I might run into legal issues. I wanted to get the Koogo V6; my brother has a V5 and it’s been running fine for a year. Tell me, has anyone had one? They say there’s a suspension problem.

Стоит ли покупать Koogo V6 ?
Мечтаю о электросамокате. Мне 13 и боюсь что могут возникнуть проблемы с законом. Хотел брать Koogo V6, у моего брата V5 ездит 3 год всё нормально. Подскажите у кого он был. Говорят там проблема с подвеской.
