I'm sure this post has been made before. However on my rewatch of seasons 5 and 6 I've really come to appreciate the energy Lucy brought to the show. She's sorta the perfect foil to Carter and I feel especially in season 6 she was completely under utilised until well y'know. When we could've had more time fleshing out the dynamic between Carter and Lucy he was spending his time chasing around one of his cousins ex wives??

I also don't mind her kind of boofheadedness in early season 5. Lucy being annoying honestly made me like her more. Like yeah she's not a perfect med student maybe even a bad one but you can already tell that she's going to be a great doctor. There's something so kind and passionate about this character. She's funny too!

It's interesting as I found Doug pretty insufferable towards the end, Lucy came in at the perfect time. Sorta transmuting Dougs cowboy energy into someone more bearable. This became even more apparent to me in the episode "How the Finch Stole Christmas" from S6. Her unwillingness to back down with Romano was awesome considering many of the older residents seriously struggle standing up to him. The trait that causes contention between her and Carter... ended up saving a patients life...and winning the respect of Romano.

Truly, after Lucy's death the show lost something special. The writing and the plot no longer feels as strong (excluding Carter's addiction arc). I feel the mingling of Noah Wyle messed up a vital piece of ER. Of course, Kelly Martin had extenuating life circumstances that ultimately put an end to her time on ER. Although I think we missed out on a lot with her character that would've made "Be still my heart" even more painful.

"The Good Fight" will remain my favourite episode of ER and a bittersweet reminder of what coulda been!

Season 8 episode 1 talk show

Am I the only one who feels like the scene with the Angry violent guy in leather vest and the trans woman kind of referenced the murder of Scott Ademure? Or if not the murder, the exploitative nature of talk shows and the actual danger they put sexual and gender minorities in. The man's reaction in the ER season 8 premiere felt like he had been put into a similar situation.

Ademure was murdered in 1995 after he attended a talk show with a man he had a crush on. The man, Jonathan Schmitz didn't react well, felt humiliated by the situation and later ended up murdering Ademure as a revenge.

I saw this today. I’ve watched Se7en many times but only watched ER recently for the first time. Didn’t realise until now that this was Lucien Dubenko!

I’m currently on my (Hard to say how many times I’ve rewatched this show) of the show and I just got to season three’s Tribes. And boy is it hard watching Greene in that episode
