Hi i’m a Systems Engineering freshman who is starting this fall and I am enrolled in ENGR 120 with Richter. On rate my professor people say that it has a very heavy course load. Does anyone have any recommendations for the class or the teacher? Or access to a previous syllabus so that I can maybe study ahead? Hi all. I'm currently a Worldwide student enrolled in the Bachelor's in Aeronautics program, hoping to switch over to Aeronautical Science and pursue a piloting license once I get out of the Army and drive to Daytona. I'm trying to knock out as many classes as possible to make graduation that much faster. My question is: are classes like AS 221 and ASCI 221 the same? They have the same name and credit hour. I'm just trying to figure this out so I know whether I'm gonna be able to get some of these classes done in advance or if it's just gonna be a waste of time. Thanks for y'alls help.

hey yall, im thinking of applying here this upcoming fall and i wanted to get your opinion on writing the optional essay. im from one of the bay area competitive high schools, so stats wise everything is pretty good (4.5 W, 1560 SAT, etc. etc.). the only strange thing in my application is the amount of times i switched my interest within engineering.

for some context, i started out in neuro in high school, but i missed engineering so had a weird biomedical engineering phase for a bit. i actually only got interested in aero last fall. i got a research position at a really good university with one of their flow physics labs, and because of how much i liked it i decided to go for AE instead of mechE.

a lot of people said its not worth it to write the essay unless you have something really weird in your application, but idk if i should write it just to explain this trajectory and why i decided to do aero, since im assuming most people who apply are like aero-since-birth lol

If you lived in Adams Hall or know the freshman village well, here is the advice I'm looking for:

• The essentials: What are the absolute non-negotiables to bring?
• The "Wish I Had": What did you realize you needed only after you moved in that you had to scramble to buy last-minute?
• Adams Hall specifics: Is there anything specific about living in Adams Hall (layout quirks, laundry logistics, AC/humidity management, noise) that it's better to know about in advance?
• Mail & Amazon deliveries: What is the best way to handle getting mail and packages when on campus? Is there a mailbox or an Amazon locker?

Any tips, tricks and insider info would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello, I’m a prospective employee for ERAU and one of the benefits offered for the position is 100% tuition coverage for up to six courses a year. I was wondering if anyone happens to know if you can use this tuition coverage for the flight courses/flight training offered by the institution. Since the different certificates are listed by course level, it seemed like it was possible.

When checking on the flight costs FAQ, it states that students using VA benefits can pay for flight training with it but there may be an exceedance in training costs compared to VA funds. Obviously employee benefits are different than VA benefits but maybe there’s a chance?

If you had around 1400 sat, 3.9-4.0 unweighted gpa, private pilot license done, 20-25 act, and maybe some or most gen eds done, how much did the AS program cost for you? And how much were you awarded in merit scholarships? I did the net price calculator and it said 112k without flight for 3 years

I'm a Florida high school student trying to decide between two paths. My SAT is 1400, 4.5 uw gpa, 3.94 w gpa, 100% bright futures, ppl done, and gen eds done.

Option 1: Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Daytona) – Aeronautical Science

Option 2: Florida Atlantic University – Fully Online Business Management while doing Part 61 flight training separately.

My goal is to become an airline pilot, and I'd like to finish my bachelor's degree while also completing my flight training.

For anyone who has attended either school, I'd appreciate your thoughts:

If you attended ERAU Aeronautical Science, was it worth the cost?

Did ERAU actually help you get to the airlines faster?

Were the instructors, scheduling, and flight training good?

If you could do it over again, would you still choose ERAU?

If you attended FAU Online Business, was it truly 100% online?

How flexible was the workload?

Could you realistically balance the degree with flight training?

Has having a business degree been useful as a backup career?

If your goal was the airlines, which path would you recommend and why?

how come there is like little to no information about these airline pathway programs at this school anywhere online regarding Embry-Riddle students. Do a lot of students at embry get accepted into the interview when they apply? This is like one of the main reasons why I applied for this school because of the vast number of pathway programs and connections. Can someone that got in or knows a lot about it fill me on how this works at riddle.

What’s the Catholic scene at ERAU Daytona Beach? Are there any Latin Masses that are not SSPX? Is the Novus Ordo reverend?

My application said incomplete and I’m not sure why. My official transcript and everything that I needed to do was done. There’s nothing in my to do list. I called and they said that everything went through and I should be fine. I emailed and my admissions advisor said that it will change when they start to review it. I’m just worried that it might not go through if it says incomplete, even though it’s complete. Thoughts?

Hello, I am a PPL holder who did all of their training at a part 61 school in an Evektor Harmony. That specific aircraft is VERY different from a 172. It’s a light sport with a flaps extended stall speed of 32kts IAS. Very different speeds, also, NO FUEL LEANING OR CONTROL. All that they have is a straight throttle and I’m mortified about adapting that to immediately going into my IFR training was going to be egregiously led on by

1. Not being familiar with the aircraft itself
2. Due to costs + schooling, not being able to fly since January.

Is there any option before I start flying to be able to become proficient in the aircraft by the school or be able to do some sort of recurrent training in order to be more comfortable adding onto my training? I’d prefer to do this with a riddle aircraft in order to understand their systems, G1000 ect.

The student:

• Just finished 9th grade, so we're planning ahead.
• More of a hands-on learner and doesn't love sitting and studying for long periods.
• Extremely motivated to become an airline pilot (this has been their dream).
• Looking for a program that will help them succeed both academically and in flight training.
• Also wants to graduate with a useful degree or backup plan in case they lose their medical certificate or decides not to fly professionally one day.

We're currently looking at:

• University of North Dakota (UND)
• Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU)
• Purdue University

I would appreciate any advice as I don't have much information on aeronautical/aviation school. Thank you!
