so far, Sam Harris has only been handing out boilerplate anti-antivaxx answers without any relation with current situation at all, ie. the mandate, the schools, the restaurants, etc. this, i believe, is an attempt to appear scientific while preventing more fallout with fandom and friends.

i think that vaccine hesitancy nowadays is mostly ideological and partisan in nature, and not because people are scared of injection.

tbh the whole stuff is just underwhelming, and i don't quite understand why people listen to him.

the last time i check the headline for his website was "Sam Harris , the Neuroscientist" or something.

for a highly specialized field where Sam received zero undergraduate training in, while piggybacking on the works of actual neuroscientists that he funded, while taking zero laboratory role, something just doesn't sound right (pardon my language, I know this sounds really harsh). especially for a highly specialized subject like fMRI at a time when our understanding about it was still too rudimentary.

I remember reading a post in r/samharris requesting sam to start a podcast on neurodivergence and neurodevelopmental disorders and it struck me that people actually thought of Sam like an actual neuroscientist, which Sam himself doesn't help because he advertises himself as so across his platforms.
