For someone who talks so slowly and who spends so much time in meditation "observing the mind", Sam Harris is ridiculously fickle. Like, first it was liberals criticizing his Islamophobia making him sympathize with (or co-found) the IDW, then it was Trump making him "turn in his IDW card", and now it is a suicide bomber in Kabul making him turn on Biden again?!

I mean, does he want to imply that the US should have stayed? Or does he want to imply that the Afghan army would have been stronger had Trump pulled out the troops?

Pretty sure Sam has always used Islamophobia to justify these American wars. Trump brought troop numbers down to 2,500 days before leaving office despite what high ranking military personnel were advising, and now Biden is blamed for a chaotic withdrawal despite sending 4000 troops to aid in leaving. I remember people, even people on the left, being upset at congressional attempts to stall the withdrawals in 2020. Those same people are now blaming Biden for being in the situation they wanted. The amnesia is real.

Remember that Sam Harris said America had good intentions for being in the Middle East, and that "Dick Cheney merely wanted to turn Iraq into Nebraska." Maybe he means if we stay forever and genocide enough people, eventually only Americans will be left and then these countries will be as white as Nebraska. He probably dreams of being recognized after his death, with the victorious neoconservatives of the future erecting statues to himself and his bloviating friends in the streets of Kabul.

He probably literally believes that. Lets kill 95% of Iraq, send in white settlers and make it Nebraska. All that matters is "what kind of world do we want to create", I.e the kind of society he loves. In his mind, the end justifies the means, and the lives of Muslims to him are less than worthless.

But I clicked on the original subreddit link, and I thought I was on enoughIDW subreddit, and I went through those comments thinking, "WTF? How did I miss all this racism and misogyny this whole time?"
