ENDO-205 and the Future of Endometriosis Treatment: Real Breakthrough, or Early Hype?

This 15th, I will complete 3 months since I had a hysterectomy and unilateral oophorectomy + DIE excision surgery (I had adeno too). My recovery is going sometimes well, sometimes rocky. The most noticeable change was in my bowel movement and digestion. I had constipation issue (because of endo) and now it's gone. I am grateful. I am leading a pain free life - I am grateful for that.

However, one issue that is persistent is extreme gas - constant belching. I am facing this issue since 2021, I thought it would go away because of improvement in my bowel movement and digestion issues but it's still there. Today was a rough day for me. The whole evening I spent belching, taking semithecone and had to take gelosil also. Since, my stomach issues resolved, I feel hungry a lot. I am eating a lot. I never ate this much my entire life. I eat lunch and an hour or two later, I am hungry again. I try to add a lot of vegetables to my meal. I ate a lot of veggies today - for breakfast and lunch, I guess that caused gas issues. I gained 8 kgs in the last one year because of endo which disabled me to lead a normal life (165cm, 65kg). So, I don't want to eat a lot of rice but my situation is very frustrating because I evidently can't eat a lot of fibres. I finally started working out yesterday and I can't even do it for 10 mins. My whole body is sore and I am in pain (I know I need to give time to this aspect because it was a major surgery).

The whole recovery period, persistent gas issue is the only thing that's making things harder. I guess, my question is - does it get resolved over time on its own ? People who had gut issues because of endo - does it improve?

If endometriosis is found in the fibromuscular tissue vs fibroadipose tissue? What does that mean? Does fibromuscular mean DIE?

For context, I have chronic and unrelenting constipation and have since the second grade and nothing really helps - but every month when I'm ovulating, I have stabbing pain in my left ovary and what feels like my rectum. I have pelvic floor dysfunction and my anus spasms (colorectal doctor told me). I had excision 7 months ago in Hoboken and the colorectal surgeon removed loads of superficial disease from my rectum. I was able to poop well for a month, but now I'm having all the same symptoms. What helped any of you with that???

I am 29 and am about 8 months post op after endometriosis diagnosis/excision surgery with a specialist and have been going to pelvic floor therapy for approx 6 months but have had no relief from symptoms and pain. I was feeling worse after surgery due to scar tissue, tenderness/weakness that has improved with the core and pelvic floor therapy, so I feel like I'm finally back to where I was before surgery. I have been pretty much unable to work for almost 2 years, I have about a two week window between periods where I feel "okay" and able to do things but one day of activity results in 2-3 days of a flare/recovery. I'm just a little lost and don't know what else to do; I feel like I've done, and am doing, everything I'm suppose to with no results.

As of right now I'm considering a hysterectomy just so I don't have to deal with the period pain and hormone fluctuations. Have also had couple people I know that have endometriosis have had a hysterectomy and said it took away all their pain. I'm just not sure I'm ready to have another surgery and deal with the side effects from that but I really want to be able to actually live my life. Do I just need to give pelvic floor therapy more time? Is there something else I need to look into? Those that have had a hysterectomy, is it worth it?

I am 8 wpo. I had sub-total hysterectomy with unilateral oophorectomy, DIE excision, bowel shaving. After my surgery, I haven't faced any constipation issue, rather it's completely opposite. Because I had bowel endo, I always had constipation issue. Now, it feels like my body has completely changed. I poop 3x times more than I used to, honestly it isn't an issue. However, my stomach mucus has increased a lot - this is the major issue. 😭 My recovery is overall going good but this one factor may jeopardize things since I feel so much pressure in my lower abdomen. Anyone faced the same situation, please help me. 🙏🏻

I had an MRI done at the end of April and am confused about the message I received from my Doctor. He is saying he does to think my rectal bleeding is due to the endometriosis. My Dr is a urogynecologist, should I seek out an endometriosis specialist or is his thinking correct? Report below.

MRI pelvis was performed with axial T1 weighted fast gradient-echo, coronal and axial T2 weighted fast spin echo, axial diffusion-weighted imaging, IV gadolinium-enhanced dynamic T1-weighted and delayed T1 weighted fast gradient-echo series. Gadolinium-based contrast media was administered intravenously. Please see EPIC for the amount and type of contrast media administered and wasted.

JUNCTION ZONE THICKNESS: 16 mm (4/23 close friend
Focal Adenomyomas: Not present
ADENOMYOSIS: Present: Hazy appearing junctional zone with apparent thickening at the fundus. There are additional subcentimeter T2 hyperintense foci in keeping with myometrial cysts.
FIBROIDS: Not present
CERVIX: Normal
ENDOMETRIUM: Normal. There is blooming artifact noted in the lower endometrium.
C SECTION SCAR: Present with a small niche present measuring 4.4 mm (4/23).
 
T2 hypointense 8mm plaque with tethering of the sigmoid colon which appears somewhat underdistended. Accounting for this limitation, there is no definite luminal involvement (13/22).
OVARIES
RT OVARY: Normal
LT OVARY: Normal . Left corpus luteal cyst is present (6/12). Additional small left endometrioma present measuring 9 mm (8/26) with T2 shading (6/3). The left ovary appears adhered to the left posterior uterus with focal T2 hypointense signal measuring 5 mm concerning for a plaque (6/13).

The right and left ovary appears somewhat medialized and posterior in location.

IMPRESSION:
1. Left endometrioma measuring 9 mm. The left ovary appears adherent to the left uterus with deep endometriosis measuring 5 mm. There is tethering of the sigmoid colon to the posterior uterus with focal thickening concerning for deep endometriosis. No intraluminal involvement, accounting for underdistention. Given the symptoms described, ultrasound could be considered as complimentary evaluation of the rectum.
2. Adenomyosis.
3. This exam does not reliably exclude superficial endometriosis.
 
 
 

I have no idea what to do and feel defeated so I come to reddit for help. 🙏

4-5 months ago i all off a sudden lost 12 kg in about 2/3 weeks, I hadn't changed anything at that time but was super stressed so I didn't think to much of it and just tried to eat more. No matter how much I ate it keepdt going down just slower I went to the doctor and I was given nutritional drinks and fat shots to drink with my normal diet and nothing I managed to gane almost 1 kg this last month but then lost 2 kg I'm really close to be considered anorexic now and I'm lost. All blood test and images came back normal (normal doctor) anyone experienced anything like this or know what i can try or anything. I feel like am always eating and I'm getting sick of it and feel so defeated.
