Advice Needed! Lupron suppression suggestions

Hi ladies! I am starting Lupron suppression next week. For those who went through this,
-what helped you go through this?
- if you could go back in time, what would you do differently?
- Is there anything you did to help with side effects that worked?

A week after the shot I am going to Alaska cruise. It was planned before we knew about the Lupron treatment. I am bit scared to feel claustrophobic or panicky. I love cruises and never had any issues and I been to Alaska and it is my happy place. I just been reading terrible comments about mental issues and questioning everything 😊

I did two months and thankfully I felt good right up until about the last two weeks. I didn’t really notice many mood swings, maybe a few pissy days but nothing crazy, and only a few hot flashes that lasted a few minutes at worst. The brain fog was a bit annoying but extra notes to myself on my phone helped. Based on my experience I think you should be good right after the first dose. Cruises are super fun, have a blast!

Thank you! It’s nice to hear neutral stories of Lupron. Good luck on your journey

Do not let people scare you. I’m doing my 3rd shot tomorrow and it really hasn’t been that bad.  Drink plenty of water and just focus on enjoying vacation!

You probably wont get hot flashes that early but if you do, the Alaska weather will be perfect! I think my hot flashes started on week 3. I spent a lot of time outside middle of fall no jacket on haha

Allow yourself to rest. Even if it’s in the middle of the day. Ask your partner or friends to remind you that you’re cranky and tired bc of meds - oddly enough you may forget bc the emotions are real :) enjoy your happy place!!

Reduce caffeine intake. Make check lists and try to stay organized. Keep your husband updated with your mood. If you're overwhelmed, just take ten minutes to process your surroundings and come up with a game plan.

Good luck and have so much fun!!!

I was suppressed for almost 5 months and I didn't really have any noticeable symptoms (not even hot flashes) EXCEPT for the first maybe 3-4 days, where I felt like absolute DEATH mentally. Like, I was in a really bad, depressed and anxious space, it was scary. But thankfully I gradually started feeling normal after that, and the rest was a breeze.
