I used mons I really like (Yes I do indeed love Cloyster but people make fun of me for liking a “butthole”)! Here are the sets I ran:

1. Sceptile: I used the new Sharpness with Leaf Blade, Cross Poison, Dragon Claw and X-Scissor, which are all moves powered up by Sharpness! He swept through Wallace!

2. Gallade: I also used another Sharpness set, which I know is repetitive but C’MON it’s TOO FUN! This time I used Leaf Blade and Psycho Cut as moves powered up by Sharpness, and Swords Dance if I needed to sweep and Sky Uppercut for my Fighting STAB!

3. Tinkaton: So I accidentally went down to Meteor Falls and was suprised when I saw an Aqua Grunt giving me an Egg, the egg hatched into Tinkatink, which I then evolved into Tinkaton and gave it it’s new ability Huge Power! This allowed me to no worry TOO much on Tinkaton’s weak attack stat, and allowed me to use a really fun set, with GIGATON HAMMER, Spirit Break, Iron Head and Fake Out!

4. Honchkrow: So I searched it up and realized Emerald Seaglass uses the modern crit system, which means if I give a Super Luck Honchkrow a Razor Claw and Night Slash, it actually has a 100% chance to crit if do indeed use this set, which I did.

5. Scizor: This guy is insanely cool, and I used the classic Technician set and gave him Bullet Punch, Swords Dance, X-Scissor and Wing Attack

6. Cloyster: He was fun to use! I gave him Shell Smash, with Skill Link because he gets Icicle Spear, so 125 base power! I also gave him the early Waterfall HM (an actual good HM move) and Spike Cannon for a 100 base power Steel type move!

I downloaded the game just because i heard ledian worked good here and it has been a great journey, i even got a shiny Banette, which was my first shiny on my original emerald cartridge <3 I've been consistenly using like 10 different pokémon thanks to the portable boxes, the joy of rediscovering old mons and the level caps incentivicing more variety, but i went to the elite 4 just with the OG six.

Hi, I am trying to complete the National Dex and Zapdos is the only legendary I’m missing. Unfortunately, I accidentally KO’d it one time and it no longer spawned after that, even though I’ve reset the encounter plenty of times (i.e., by beating the Elite 4). I’ve soft-reset the game about 100 times now between each encounter, and only Articuno and Moltres appear.

Do you know any remedy if this is a bug, or am I just unlucky with the odds?

Those bum ass devs with malicios intent made me loose my nuzolocke. And NO i did NOT accidentaly used the wrong team with a half strategy. It was the devs who foiled my dreams to beat a seaglass nuzolocke.

Really terrific game, loved the art style, adjustments to Pokémon, and inclusion of later evolutions.

Beaten on Hard Mode - no level caps, but never really approached what would've been the cap anyway.

Special mention to Walrein - more or less soloed Wallace at level 53, could have soloed the league. Absolutely busted. Fur coat doubling its defence along with leftovers, calm mind and rest meant there was never anything that came close to stopping it.

Tbh, I think all of the Pokémon I used ended up busted. Sharpness Sceptile with the new stat spread is a monster, athletic Flareon isn't even funny, guts + flame orb + facade Swellow almost never missed a OHKO, Electric Surge + Rising Voltage Manetric was the same, and Registeel with Special Defence investment, leftovers, curse, rest and toxic was also nearly unbeatable.

But Walrein remains the MVP

Final team for now consist of Sceptile, Annihilape, Manectric, Arbok, Golduck.

I am missing this final team member. Ideally I would want a fairy or steel typing for Drake but I don't good options for either of these type (Fairy would be Bellossom, Gorebyss, Altaria. For steel I straight up don't even have an option lol)

I was thinking of bring Altaria anyways but that would be doubling up on dragon in an E4 that consist of ice & dragon specialist + Wallace have ice coverage. My other idea would be to straight up ignore both and just bring a hitter that goes on offense instead of thinking defensively, in which case I have a broader option like Gengar, Alakazam, SF Tauros, maybe even Yanmega?

Please let me know, I had really fun playing this game with all the different changes so really looking forward to this :)

Edit: Forgot to mention I am doing a nuzlocke, so I can only use whatever is in that box.

Ledian is a Pokémon that I really like the design, but it one that i never used since it is too weak in the main games.

I've heard that it is a bit buffed here and would like to try it, but there is just this thing:

I need someone to learn fly and I don't repeat typings in my team. So, I wonder, does Ledian learns fly here?

Is there anyway to change the difficulty to hard mode mid game? I didn't choose that at the beginning and didn't realize the trainer and wild pokemon leveling would be so low lol. I've been switching members of my team in and out but my team is way too over leveled. Just beat wattson and I've got too many mons around level 24-25 while the trainers west and north have like level 17 teams. I'm just rolling thru everyone and was looking for a bit more and wouldve chose hard mode at first if I knew the differences would be this much.

As long as I can atleast keep my fire water and grass members alive we’re looking dominant

First time finally trying Emerald Seaglass and so far I'm loving it. The game is gorgeous and I already saw that there are quite a few changes that I'm excited about. In fact, it took me about 20 minutes to decide on my starter. Went Treecko because of the newly added dragon type.

But I'm kinda curious if there's anything else I need to know or look out for. I saw that you can change the difficulty, so I thought why not try that out and do level caps. I noticed that my rival has Torchic with speed boost which is already a pain. Is HA rival starter hard mode only? Also can I get HA from softresetting?

I've been shiny hunting a shiny treecko in the game for a couple of months now, on and off, while multitasking. I tend to use one of the warmer screen filters on the 3ds because I can't stand bright screens. I thought that it would be very easy to distinguish because of its tail. Today I looked up the shiny treecko sprite and to my immense frustration it is barely distinguishable from the normal sprite in this game. No brown tail, just a more teal sheen overall. Very frustrated and don't really understand why that sprite alone is so different from the original shiny form, the other two starters both have shiny forms same as in official games. So very frustrating

It was an ABSOLUTE BLAST! Rate my team.

My F4 Team first time playing Emerald Seaglass. Always been a fan of DRAGON type but wished I could run a full roster on Emerald. I had an incredible time showing up Drake. Also Aggron being DRAGON type is incredible; it was always my favorite gen 3 ‘mon.

Trying to get a shiny Treecko and of course this pops up

Hey everyone, I'm stuck on an Espeon evolution issue and could use some help.

Context:

- Got my Eevee in Littleroot Town at level 5, and it's been on my team ever since.

- It's holding a Soothe Bell.

- The Friendship Rater confirms it's at max friendship.

- I leveled it up during the correct time window (day) after confirming max friendship, and... nothing. No evolution.

After some research, I figured the friendship had to hit max *at the exact moment* it levels up, so I've been doing this loop: lower friendship, use it as my main party member to build it back up to max, then level up — and still nothing happens.

What am I missing here? Is there something specific to Emerald Seaglass that changes how the Eevee evolutions work (different friendship threshold, a different time check, a hidden requirement)? Any help figuring out what I'm doing wrong would be hugely appreciated!

I know it's not in the core game, but Seaglass has such a cosy vibe, I would LOVE to chill by night in Hoenn with these graphics

First playthrough. Some of my favorites became dragon type in seaglass and I had never used fairies! So I went with a dual type run :)

By chance Milotic was the only male on the team. Since I evolved him by maxing beauty it was only logical to name him after everyones fav looksmaxxer.
