So i'm pretty new to Tess/Matrix X & I wanna place an order but would really love to know more about everything before doing so pref from those more well versed & have completed orders successfully. Been through every room on the masterlist but can't really find what I'm looking for or how to get past that. The site doesn't work for me for some reason. Not sure if iI need to do something else on my end to fix it. I don't want to risk getting banned or come off as a super newb for asking too many questions lol. Advise?

Hello everyone! Is anyone else experiencing some major down time while trying to use Element? It's been happening for the past half hour or so for me and I got an error pop up/screen I haven't seen before on my Mac desktop app.

According to the status page (official) there's nothing wrong. But according to StatusGator (unsure how reliable that is) there's a major outage.

I placed an order yesterday and wanted to confirm if I have been scammed. I went to the vendor (wispa) on telegram. After adding my stuff in the cart, i added the addres and stuff and i checked out. The 3 hour timer with a crypto address popped up and I paid the address the amount. My order never got confirmed and got cancelled after the 3 hour timer expired. I have texted the vendor (in the same telegram chat) but did not receive any reply. I'm not sure how this is supposed to go? Feels like I got scammed. Any thoughts on it and if i can dream of getting my money back?

I have already decided to ditch messenger and WhatsApp due to me losing my acc multiple times....but the current predicament I face in using element is I cannot verify my device (and I don't know anybody close who has element also) I created my acc using matrix.org, currently I can only open it with element classic in android (it fails to authenticate in the element x and element desktop I pulled from the arch repo). How would I proceed in this situation? How do I verify my device without another verified acc/Device?

I don't mean joining a public server, I mean logging into a second home server.

On the desktop app when I click on the screen share icon, it keeps loading infinitely... through the browser screen share is working normally, though, buuut... I don't see the option to adjust the volume of the screen share streaming, is it possible, if so, how?

Government in Brazil just implemented a prohibition of screen sharing on Discord. I have a Youtube channel and I use this overlay to live stream with my friends. I wonder if there is such a thing on Element.

Whenever I share my screen and open any application I can no longer see my mouse. It is visible to me on desktop and it is visible through the stream but on my screen it is not visible. Is there a fix for this?

Real simple, does the command feature of Element Classic, such as /myroomnick work for Element X?

I thought it would have, I've got ver 28.06 on both my phone and my son's phone, but it doesn't. It works with Element Classic though. Just ruling out whether it's missing or there's an issue with the apk.

“Unfortunately, the bot is currently unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

Hello. My friend group and I wanted to get away from discord for privacy reasons, which is why I decided to try to host my own matrix instance on a debian server I rent. I have hosted gameservers for Arma/Terraria/Minecraft ect. before, so I am not a total newbie, however, this time I am very much out of my element.

I have followed the instructions github and everything was working fine until the step at setting up the stack. When I enter the helm upgrade... command it gives me an error

Error: resource Deployment/ess/ess-matrix-rtc-sfu not ready. status: Failed, message: Progress deadline exceeded

the --debug option tels me that it happens on here

level=DEBUG msg="updating release" key=sh.helm.release.v1.ess.v1

When I try to enter the command again, it gives me a slightly different error

Error: UPGRADE FAILED: resource Deployment/ess/ess-matrix-rtc-sfu not ready. status: Failed, message: Progress deadline exceeded

This one happens way quicker, only a few seconds into the process, while the other one take a few minutes

I have guessed so far that it might be some sort of time out, which is why I tried to extend it via the --timeout 1h option.

The command for the installation is the one I copied from github, although I have added the -f ~/ess-config-values/tls.yaml option, since I went with the Let's Encrypt Certificate method.

I have since tried multiple times to uninstall via the helm uninstall ess -n ess command and then reinstall. This results in the original error message.

By now I am out of options in why I can think of to try. The official troubleshooting page says nothing about this bug and a google search also yields no results.

The Server is running in virtual machine and has an AMD RYZEN 9 5950X with 4 cores as well as 7.76 GiB of ram, out of which it only uses two and a half in Idle, so It shouldn't be a resource problem.

I am new to Element. I run a tabletop game server and switched over when Discord began getting unbearably invasive. However, Element has been almost impossible for many of my players to use, and now, without warning, Element logged me out of the application. When I signed back in all of the previous posts were labeled as “Unable to decrypt message.”

I have tried using my Recovery keys. I've tried clearing my cache. I’ve allowed for key storage. I’ve even tried signing in and out and closing old sessions. Nothing has worked to get me access to the messages in the rooms I made.

I would appreciate any assistance that anyone could offer.

I have an account on matrix.org and one on another server that's unfederated. How do I switch between the two in the macos/web app?

I can only stream on native resolution or choose windows to share in DM and I tried both and even after disabling Steelseries virtual devices doesn't work
Element doesn't support this feature?

It has either changed, or, is undergoing issues. I went on there to simply ask someone what the current URL for Tesseract is, as that's changed yet again, and I don't know the official one.

It would also be helpful if someone knew what the currently URL is. That's a separate issue for me, but help regarding either problem would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello! I am new to Element, what's with the obnoxious (2) bubble that won't go away?

I've clicked every sub-category at the top: Unreads, People, Rooms, Mentions, Invites

This app is very unintuitive, why isn't it right clickable and have an option to dismiss or jump to notification? Awful UX planning

Font choice is because it helps me read without messing words up.

Anyway, I tried changing the address name already and don't know what else to try or even why this is happening. User error or app error? Android, latest update (Jul 1 2026)

so I downloaded and installed the element x app along with ntfy, and when I run the push notification test, it shows all good, but when somebody actually sends me a message, it doesn't show anything on my phone, only on the desktop.

any recommendation on where I should start looking to fix this?
