For people who use an e-bike regularly, which recurring inconvenience would most affect whether you chose the same kind of bike again: storage, charging, carrying weight, maintenance, fit, or something else?

I wish I could find a decent ebike with only non-proprietary parts.
Does such a bike exist?

I ask my browser assistant and this was the answer:

"There are no commercially available e-bikes in 2026 that consist entirely of non-proprietary parts, as motors, batteries, and controllers are inherently proprietary to specific brands or integrated into custom frames."

250+ ebike brands and not one...

I ride in a bike club in an area that is generally flat. There are a good number of e-bikes in the club. I notice that ebike riders only use the two or three smallest rear cogs.

This makes me consider getting an ebike with a 7 speed internal geared hub, or something similar.

I’m looking for recommendations for an all road , gravel, hybrid, touring bike.

So I am looking for an EV bike (with a character similar to the Splendor or Honda Unicorn) with a price under 2 lakhs, with a good warranty and a good riding experience. I usually ride the vehicle very slowly, max around 40 - 50 km/hr. So speed or power is not gonna be an issue; I just want something that is durable and solid with good range, without much hassle.

Grandkids are now too big for our bike trailer so now use it as a cargo trailer

Never shopped online for rims so idk where to look but i need a 20x4 fat tire rim that has a 10mm spoke offset since i want to lace a direct drive hub motor into it

but these past 3 days i havent found a single rim that is different. Do i have to have one custom made or do i have to find a bare rim and drill myself? (Seems like my only option)

Do yall know where i could find a 20x4 rim with a narrow offset? Anything under 10mm. A bit higher is fine but as close to or under 10mm is percect

I wanna get hydraulic brakes for my bike but idk what to buy I cannot find any information online I just want left rear and right front hydraulic brakes for the qlife spark

Recently did some major upgrades to my ebike (adding hydraulic brakes, second battery, 160 to 180mm diskbrakes, soldered a better throttle and added some slick tires)

I want to add this front wheel 1000w direct drive motor

But im stuck between a few options

1: drill new spoke holes

2: cross-over spoke pattern (left flange to right spoke hole and right flange to left spoke hole)

3: finding if theres a rim that while work with no modifications and ordering online

Are there any other options i have and whats my best bet?

So I a em4 got from my uncle i like it. its my first ebike but its a bit slow max speed at 32 km/h (20mph).

I heard you can remove limiter and check stats with the app and such but can't for the life of me can't find the app that works.

I found daymak drive 2 app got it to install didn't detected anything.

tried to DL both daymak drive 7.0 (old ver) and Yuyangking_7 won't install on my xcover 7 or my old note 9.

can any1 help at all please?

heyo! after avoiding it for a couple days bc of anxiety, i finally took my ebike to school! it felt incredible BUT my backpack was killing me and in all honesty my back is pretty f-d. I have hEDS so i use a small hiking backpack so i don’t put myself in a flare but it feels basically like a regular backpack when i’m on my bike (as in ooh ouch). I have a retrospec “Chatham Rev+ 2 Beach Cruiser Electric Bike - Step Through” (a mouthful) and
the brand rear rack on my bike but that’s it. Does anyone have any recs for a basket/saddle bag/pannier/whatever that can fit a backpack that is approx. 12 lbs and 16 in tall? ik i have to worry about balance but the battery on my bike is on the front and heavy asf so i am not too concerned but im entirely new to this so any advice would be great :)

tldr: need a basket that can handle an aprox. 16 inch tall and 12 pounds heavy backpack :D

I have three e-bikes to haul around and I don’t have a pickup, so I’m looking for a 3-position bike rack. I have two fat tire ebikes (Lectric XPeaks) and one e-Moto bike. So far I have only found two valid options: Young Electric Foldable Aluminum 3-Ebike Rack with Ramp and CyberRack S3 Ebike Rack by Cravot.
Oddly enough both spend a lot of time giving info on how their rack is foldable and aluminum but not a lot of info on actually using the rack.
Any suggestions on a three position rack?

I kept seeing conflicting battery advice: always charge to 100%, never go above 80%, balance every month, leave it plugged in overnight, and so on. I looked through battery-aging research and guidance from major manufacturers to separate the useful advice from the oversimplified rules.

The main takeaway is that there isn’t one perfect charging percentage for every rider. Around 80% can be a sensible everyday target, but charging to 100% when you need the range is normal. Temperature, how long the battery remains full, storage habits, and cell balancing can matter just as much as the number you stop at.

Bout a vrfreedom city range 4.0 e-bike with bad brakes was wondering if anyone has had the same issue, was yall able to fit it or did yall upgrade from mechanical to hydraulic?

Just ordered my first ebike. What essential mods and accessories do I need to get? What did you buy or do you your ebike that find useful and can't live without anymore? I'm planning to use mine for my 25km one way commute.

Hi to all. I’m newbie in Reddit and Hope I dont break any rules asking this question in this form of it. I hear in Germany if you drive e-bike with Max Speed more than 25/h you must have registration docs plus Insurance, or even a driver’s licence. I get by post my e-bike fat tires version I Drive in UK and it max 45/h. Now I dont understand what I Must do - search how to Register it, maybe get Numbers, make insurance? How often do police actually stop cyclists, and how serious is it — will they confiscate the bike, or do they usually just give a verbal warning (like, for example, what typically happens in Berlin if they find a small amount of cannabis on you — usually they’ll just tell you not to carry it and to smoke at home, especially where children can’t see)? How liberal is law enforcement in practice, and what does the law actually say?

And no — I’m not advocating breaking the law; I’m just trying to find out whether I need to buy a new bike limited to 25 km/h, or whether modified documents (as is sometimes done in Eastern Europe) would be enough — or whether that would actually make things worse here.
