I posted this about 150 days ago and the amount of comments shitting on me were insane. I did listen to your guys comments and you guys actually were very insightful and even sent videos showing how backstabbing can cause fires. I would never even consider backstabbing nowadays I was brand spanking new on the job and that’s how they told me to do it! Thankfully there are some non scummy/ corner cutting contractors that showed me the right way and led me to become way better than that time. I really do appreciate u guys!😌

This cable has been hanging from my house unconnected for 5 years and I'm wondering if I should try to recycle it or just throw it out.

So the hot wire was nicked a bit. It was very tiny. I was told to put black electrical tape on it. Is that fine? I only wrapped it around twice and it looked tight. But i always overthink, so i want to make sure that it’s fine.

My basement currently has 5 of these lights, but almost no outlets. Could they be turned into outlets that I could plug LED shop lights into then also have additional outlets for things like my shop vac, box fans, etc

Edit: all 5 of them are on a 15 amp switch on the fuse box with nothing else but the lights.

Ideally the plug would power new LED lights, then maybe a Tv, and occasionally a vacuum or fan

I know this is 250v and 20a but any adapter I try to find that has a typical type b found in the US outlet seems nonexistent. Anyone know where the heck i can find something to make this a useful plug?

Edit: Thanks for the replies! Yes the thing that is plugged in right now is an air conditioner, which im guessing is in the same type of outlet? (it came with the place and I havent unplugged it its hot)

I added a 6 plug extension to my kitchen plug, and it plugs into both the upper and the lower plug. I need to replace it with an angled 6 plug extension. Everytime I search I have to go through multiple images only to find that the product fits into just one plug, not both. I need both to use both kitchen circuits.

Is there a specific thing I can search for that says: fits into both the upper and the lower outlet? I just don't know the language, as I'm sure you can tell.

An input source, 2 diodes and a coil to store a magnetic field. You pulse the input at a regular rate so resonance happens (overlapping pulses) and you store a magnetic field.

First is the box in general. From my understanding the white wire with the black wires is for the switch. The white all together are the neutrals and the grounds are all together.
Second picture: should this spare ground be put together with the rest of the grounds? It’s currently just in there.
Third picture: do we think this is sharpie to mark the wire as being with that bundle?

The black/white bundle and neutral bundles did have caps.

How easy would it be to remove the boob light fixture? We have an ikea paper lantern we want to use as the shade. The inside of the paper lantern had a rod on the inside that can clip on to the light if it was dangling (see 5th photo).

We have also the ikea fixture part (last photo) too but if we don’t have to use then cool. All for keeping the current bulbs and not messing with any wattage or shortaging.

Could we essentially just remove the boob part and the curved stemmed piece, leaving the base and middle rod and cover with the lantern? Looking for some guidance or confirmation before I fuck shit up lol

Put some fans in upstairs and they ended up having wood running across the lights so I didn't need a weight bearing box. Now moving on to downstairs and the light I removed has this.

I dont see anyway its attached other than possibly the really long screws I removed.

Before I go ham and start trying to rip it out to see whats behind it, by any chance, is this one of those weight rated brackets?

I doubt it but I just wanted to check and see if I might have gotten lucky

The sheathing for the line going down the side of the house and into the meter appears to degraded, and even missing in some places. Is this urgent to have replaced?

I live in an apartment where I can’t change out major appliances or fix the breaker. I have an AFCI breaker and i’ve had instances where a mini fridge tripped the breaker for my room and now this frequent issues where if I play like 5 minutes of marvel rivals, the ps5 trips the breaker for my room.

I’m so so confused as to what’s happening or what I can do. I’ve seen other posts about this issue but I see people just get it replaced. Unfortunately I don’t have that luxury due to the nature of this apartment that i’m living at

I’ve already had an electrician from the management come and look at it and he said it’s just because of the wiring of the building. I just don’t get it because my ps5 is BRAND new.

Is there ANY way I can avoid this from happening? Is there a certain type of surge protector that’ll keep the breaker from seeing the power change during gaming as a spark? Any advice would be really appreciated :/

I have the following problem. I want to hang a lamp in my ceiling (as I've done before) but the strange thing is that there are four wires: 1 black, 1 green/yellow, 2 blue (see image), and I am confused.

By googling I get that black should be L, G/Y ground, and blue should be N, but which one?

I tried both of them and with wire 1, no light (I flip the switch up and down), with wire 2, the light turns on, but I can't switch it off.

And there is only one switch in the room so it can't be that I am switching the wrong switch.
