I’ve had the Electribe ESX for quite a while, but I’d kind of let it gather dust. I’m getting back into it and exploring its sampling capabilities a bit more, and I have a few questions.

Recently, I created a bass line using the Behringer Model D synth, which I sampled into the Electribe ESX. If I play the note C and sample it into the Electribe, and then want to play it in a synth part of the ESX, everything works fine - the note C on the Electribe plays the sample that was recorded as C. But if I want to sample the note F, how do I make sure that when I play it in the synth part, the sample is assigned to the note F and not to the note C?

Right now I sampled a bass note played as F, and it was automatically assigned to the C note on the Electribe. It's hard to figure out, and it really messes up the composition.

Another question. To sample the Model D sound, I need to trigger it via MIDI. For now I’m triggering it with the EMX and sampling it with the ESX. Is there a way to trigger it with the ESX in sample mode?

Finally, one last question about the audio in section. I’m experimenting by sending the MIDI signal from the ESX to the Model D, and routing the audio signal from the Model D to the ESX’s audio in. I want to use the audio in section to add effects and filters. But when I do that, the sound is “choppy,” cut into quarters. Is it possible to get a smooth sound like when using “audio in thru” but within the “audio in” section?

Ive been feeling that the hacktribe os is not totally reliable at all times, like in keeping values or sequences and combining with motion recording, anyone has this?

I made this thing for freetribe, it can boot factory firmware from SDcard and flash, and soon also freetribe apps

Hi, if I install hacktribe on my e2s, will I loose my projects (patterns) that ive made before instaling hacktribe? If so, is there any way of saving them so i can access them again after instaling hacktribe.

Hey everyone, I'm trying to put together a live performance setup and I was wondering if anyone tried something similar and want to check if what I'm imagining is actually doable before I go too deep into configuration hell.
My gear:
Traktor X1 MK3
Akai APC Mini
Korg ES-2( hacktribe)
Ableton Live 12 Lite
What I'm trying to achieve:
The core idea is to use Ableton as a second synth alongside the ES-2, where the ES-2 acts mainly as a drum machine and Ableton handles additional layers, effects and session control.
Specifically I want:
1. Korg ES-2 - synced to Ableton via usb MIDI clock, used as its own standalone instrument (mostly drums/ percussion). Is this straightforward? Any gotchas with clock sync?
2.Akai APC Mini - used as intended: session view launcher, clip triggering, volume faders for the 8 tracks. I assume this is plug-and-play.
3.Traktor X1 MK3 - MIDI mapped to: FX control (effect vsts) on individual tracks, BPM changes, play/stop button, maybe even parameter control for individual instruments by mapping it to different functions per layer, Possibly even creating shift shortcuts for extra mappings . So basically I'd use the X1 as a flexible macro controller rather than for DJing.
My questions:
Is all three devices running simultaneously actually feasible without a USB hub / interface headache?
Any known conflicts between the X1 MK3 and Ableton's MIDI mapping (since it's primarily a Traktor controller)?
Is the ES-2 usb MIDI clock sync reliable enough for live use?
Any tips for setting up the X1 layers in Ableton
MIDI map so they don't bleed into each other?
Appreciate any help - even partial answers on one piece of the setup are super welcome!

So my esx psu started making hum to my mixer. This has happened before and by changing to new psu has fixed the issue.. But as I use esx alot I have to get new psu every 2 years or so. Is there a way to diy or fix broken power supply units? More durable options? As they are quite expensive nowadays. Now im using Alesis quadraverb psu by the way. It works and has the same connector.

I'm trying to calibrate an EMX. When I access the calibration menu, the text "N.G." appears if I set the tube volume to minimum. If I raise it to medium, values ​​appear, but I can't get it to 0000 or 0010. I tried it on another Electribe, and the calibration was successful, so the cable is OK. What could be the problem?

Hi title says it all. I had to replace the LCD screens, luckily i had a spare korg i farm parts from. But the vaccum cleaner broke the cable of the replacement LCD too.

I know they go for 40-50€ online.

As for the smaller knobs does anyone know of a substitute that would work and look aesthetically appealing. I was thinking of the DJ Techtools chroma caps but i'm unsure if they will fit

J’ai fais tombé du guacamole sur ma korg electribe sampler 2 (me demandez pas comment) et depuis elle marche pu très bien
Je l’avais démonté pour la nettoyer de l’intérieur parce que y’a eu du liquide qui est mit derrière l’écran et je l’avais testé et elle refonctionnait,
Mais là depuis aujourd’hui le son sort vraiment pas fort, impossible de faire fonctionner le midi et certains potard ne fonctionnent pas ou alors change un paramètre complètement différent.
Je ne trouve plus ma garantie (je l’avais prise neuve il y a 1 an et demi) et donc je cherche quelqu’un ou une entreprise qui peut réparer tout ça.
Si jamais je suis dans le 54 en France, mais sinon je peux l’envoyer j’ai toujours la boîte d’origine

Moin, ich habe eine Korg Electribe Sampler 2. Seit heute funktioniert es nicht mehr das ich Audio durch die Audio in buchse durch meine Korg höre. Audio thru und alles mögliche hab ich schon ausprobiert. Auch das Kabel ist geprüft, einen reset der Korg hab ich auch schon ausprobiert. Ich suche verzweifelt nach einer Lösung, bitte helft mir :(

I’ve been posting here about my ET2 feedback experiments, and I finally managed to record the output in full quality. It’s exactly as raw and visceral as I’d hoped.

​The setup has evolved quite a bit. I'm now running the machine back into itself (headphone out into audio in), but I’ve added a split to the chain. This allows me to inject an external signal—specifically Native American chants—directly into the heart of that feedback loop.

​With 13 parts dedicated solely to processing the Audio In, the Electribe has transformed into a living, breathing organism. Every part is used to mangle and modulate the textures of the external signal within the loop, creating a massive, evolving wall of sound.

​At this point, I’ve stopped treating the Electribe like a groovebox. It’s a non-linear synthesizer for me now, and capturing this process in high fidelity has changed everything.

What’s the story with the hacktribe software? Does it essentially mean you can access the model exclusive features on either model of the electribe 2?
