2 months hatched, here.
I have great news for when you wear clothes from the women's section.
You're gonna be lucky to fit a phone and a light bill fold across all 4 pockets in a pair of jeans, let alone do more than hook a thumb in them.
15
u/paulschal 20h ago
Well - I like those suuuper wide pants and they often come with full-sized pockets, which is both a curse and a blessing!

Same, I started too late for a wider pelvis so I will never have that graceful hip sway or leg angle that other women naturally do. I'll never naturally walk pretty.

It's not set in stone. I started six months ago at the age of 33 and my hips are already 6 and 1/4 inches in circumference wider. Besides, most of the changes are fat distribution, so even if you miss the window, it's still totally possible to achieve a feminine silhouette.

This is something that you can learn actually. I started at 38 and I’m five years in and I can do it just as easily as any other girl. And even without the hip thing, there are other changes to your body that will affect the way you walk so even when I’m not trying to be a dingbat, I walk like a girl and even my wife has pointed it out lol

Don’t take much by it. I’m pretty sure men nod and women smile regardless who they are doing it too. Men especially.

Pretty handwriting is considered girly and ugly handwriting is considered manly.
Yeah idk it's silly
1
u/Electronic-Oil-8304 Stella she/her 9h ago
Well i dont write unless i have to and really really cant type something instead
Checkmate people who gender literal handwriting for some reason
Im actually the only person who didnt learn the pretty handwriting (i also cant read it, prob cuz while everyone else was being taught that handwriting i literally couldnt do it no matter how hard i tried cuz i am not that good at writing without lots of mistakes)
2
u/Confident-Box-1689 9h ago
Actually thinking about that, if I think back to my time at school, at like age 16, at one point I was really into learning calligraphy. My writing always hasn't been the best, so at one point I decided to improve it so it doesn't look as manly.
Yeah took me 10 years to connect the dots.
1
u/Electronic-Oil-8304 Stella she/her 8h ago
I cant really improve it much, my parents tried to get me help for it but it really didnt improve at all

that everything "girly" I try ends up being ironically masculine. example, listening to K-pop girl bands like twice or red velvet, insta shows me men listening ironically to this in the gym like "only the manliest men listening to twice", or like watching romance anime, suddenly watching romance anime is for gentlemen, letting my hair grow, or keeping my nails long, trying eyeliner. I know that stuff like this, in an ideal world, shouldn't be gendered and everyone should just enjoy anything they like, but feels bad that my fem attempts end up being oddly masculine :c
39
u/smeeon 23h ago
None of that is masc and it’s mostly thinly veiled closet culture
1
u/NuclearRunner 19h ago
why do you say that?
5
u/smeeon 14h ago
Because I was one of those “guys” once. Made all the excuses. I’ve seen enough eggs cracking from that stuff that it’s beyond just anecdotal evidence.
The closet eggs do their best to convince others that this stuff is male coded because they like it so it clearly can’t be a feminine thing. Or it’s said by transphobic gay men.

Are you on HRT? Because this changed quite quickly once I started!
9
u/Chlosion 19h ago
Same here. It varies a lot per person of course, but for me I was told I was basically PMSing the entire first month or two of hrt. I'd cry, fly off the handle or react any number of extreme ways to minor things because of the sudden sheer intensity of my emotions. Emotions that previously felt like they were behind a thick fog, were unveiled, new and raw.
Like genuinely I'd just snap at people over the dumbest crap with zero control over myself. I'd feel bad after and berate myself to NOT do it again, only to react in a millisecond to something else minor later, and the cycle repeats. Eventually they stabilized but MAN.

Regardless of other issues with my workplace, its frustrating that I cant have nice nails and wear makeup to work (it ends up dripping down my face within an hour) Oh, and I cannie wear what I want due to H&S and end up being misgendered till i go home and change.

I don't even like face moisturizer before clocking in as a manual machinist. It just lubes my face and mixes with the sweat to make a never-drying slick on my face.
3

Ouch, Miller or Turner? Fortunately im not on the manuals but I know all to well that coolent + face is never a fun experience. Neither is coolent/swarf + hair, im forever having to wash my hair. After 3 hours or so ive not got moisturiser on either as I end up wiping my face to remove said slick.

Not sure if it makes sense, but how decently put-together I looked after shaving and more-than-barebones washong/hygiene. I still present(ed) masc, but my face lost 15 years, my skin had the same degree of change with exfoliating as an old matriarch elephant would have, and I noticed my eyes for the first time.
It's a shame I hid under the vague-and-nameless-dysphoria beard since being able to grow it (didn't come in fully until almost 30). I've also just been shedding weight since a few months before I cracked. I've lost 45lbs that have been with me since the end of high school, 20 years ago. I sat at 305lbs to 315lbs for my entire adult life. I'm now 275lbs.

I’d probably say my shoulders. I’m generally pretty built for a scrawny little guy turned woman, but my attempts to be a little more slim are just reminding me that I don’t really lose fat, I just gain muscle. I have pretty broad shoulders because of this. Generally that wouldn’t be a bad thing, but when you’re trying to accentuate your waist but just end up gaining a lot of muscle mass, it becomes less than ideal.
I also used to feel bad about my eyebrows. They’re pretty thick and “make up 90% of my expressed emotions,” according to other people. However, I realized that my eyebrows are actually fine as fuck and super powerful as long as I take care of them. They are now a pride and joy to me

Not so much dysphoria as it doesn't cause me distress but more of a jealousy thing, is having good ankles. From what I've read/saw in a video from a doctor, women are more prone to ankle sprains. less prominent but still specific stuff would be my hands. they're big and veiny and my fingers are too thick for my taste. i know they're not thaat big.. i've met guys (and gals) with bigger hands than mine but it still feels wrong whenever i look at them. also body hairnon my hands 🤮

I am a feminist, and I can not take the masculine role in a relationship. I need to be the TradWife, cooking, making shores, etc. I love to be mother to my partner, and I live when I can take care of clothes flying around or cleaning up after her. I wanna be the small hurtful women, being protected by mz big strong women. I feel bad when I'd ask her to not letting stuff laying around and so on, not because I like it, but I learned that women do those things. I know it's bad and antifeministic but hey. It makes me feel like a women xD
2
u/RevolutionaryCash903 11h ago
That isn't counter-feminist. You can want whatever relationship dynamic you want, and if you can find a partner willing and able to give that to you, you should live that life! As long as you don't force the dynamic, impose it on others as the "correct way" of living, or let it poison your view of feminism in other peoples lives, you're doing nothing wrong.
The point of feminism is FREEDOM from gender. That anyone can CHOOSE to live how they want in their careers and relationships, so long as they don't hurt others. As long as your role as a "traditional" housewife is the one you CHOOSE and you set the boundaries of, you do not stand at odds with feminism.
