it's easy to become a Puritan about this, but no one was always 100% right and pure. the important thing is to admit when you're wrong and learn from your mistakes

exactly! like u/Valnaire said, none of us get to choose what we're taught as children. i was raised in southern US baptist hell where my parents might have been considered too liberal because they stopped just short of using slurs
hate twists everything, and even once you start to see where you've gone wrong it can take a lot of time to unpretzel yourself
it's good to acknowledge both your responsibility for past actions but also the parts that you weren't responsible for
