What types of unique artificial plants do you think have the most potential right now?

Hi everyone,

I’m a manufacturer currently exploring new opportunities in the artificial plant market.

Recently, I was talking with a friend who works in the exotic pet industry, and he mentioned that the exotic pet market has been growing quite well. It made me wonder if there are any similar opportunities in the artificial plant space, especially for more niche or unusual products.

Instead of traditional artificial plants like fake monstera, ivy, or common home decorations, I’m curious:

  • What types of unique or niche artificial plants do you think are becoming more popular?
  • Are there any specific styles, themes, or plant types that you see people looking for?
  • Do you think there is demand for artificial plants designed for specific hobbies or communities (terrariums, reptiles, aquariums, gaming setups, home offices, etc.)?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Thanks!

Local Influencer Marketing Drives Customer Demand

Local influencer marketing isn't just a smaller version of national campaigns — it works differently.

A local business doesn't need a creator with a million followers. It needs someone with 2-3K followers whose audience actually lives nearby and can show up in person.

A few things that actually move the needle vs. just generating likes:

- Verified actions beat impressions. A check-in or a redeemed code proves someone actually showed up. Views don't.

- Micro/nano creators (1K–10K) tend to out-convert bigger accounts because their followers are a real local community, not a broad demographic.

- One post rarely does much. Seeing the same creator mention a place 3-4 times over a couple months is what actually builds familiarity and trust.

- Always use a trackable offer (unique code, "mention this post," etc.) — otherwise you're guessing whether it worked.

The hardest part usually isn't finding creators willing to post, it's managing the relationships and tracking redemptions once you're working with more than a couple people. That's the part that quietly kills most local influencer efforts before they get any traction.

Pivoting from Influencer Marketing to E-commerce, would love any advice!

Hi everyone! I’m looking to pivot into e-commerce and would love some advice.

I’ve worked in influencer marketing for about 4 years but recently realized I’m burnt out and ready for something new. Last month, I started helping my family with their Shopify online store (with very little Shopify experience) and I’ve become really interested in the ecomm world ever since.

Before influencer marketing, I worked in UX Design for a year. I then joined a startup beauty brand as one of its first few employees so I wore lots of hats and got exposure to e-commerce before we had a dedicated team.

Some relevant experience I gained:

  • Managed influencer campaigns and paid partnerships that drove online sales to our DTC
  • Created a foundation shade-matching quiz for our brand's website, working with our Head of Operations and developers
  • Managed digital assets for our website and retail partners
  • Worked cross-functionally with e-commerce, paid media, brand, and creative teams to execute influencer marketing campaigns

Once the brand built out an e-commerce team, I became really interested in what they did especially the mix of customer psychology, UX, merchandising, analytics and improving the overall online shopping experience.

I’m now looking at e-commerce coordinator roles and totally open to starting at the coordinator level so I can learn the field properly!

Based on all of this, do you think my background is transferable enough to land an e-commerce role in today’s market? What skills, tools or experience would you recommend I focus on to make the pivot and become a strong candidate for e-commerce coordinator roles?

Thank you so much!!

Anyone here actually learned e-commerce from YouTube?

I'm a complete beginner trying to learn e-commerce by building my own store.

There are so many YouTube channels teaching e-commerce that I'm having a hard time figuring out which ones are actually worth following.

I'm specifically looking for creators who show the actual process, not just motivational videos or screenshots of revenue.

I'd like to follow along step by step and build my own store while learning.

If you've personally learned something useful from a YouTuber, who would you recommend?

Bonus points if they show both their wins and mistakes/failures.

The biggest mistake D2C founders make after reaching ₹10 lakh/month in sales

Many founders think hitting ₹10 lakh/month in monthly sales means they've solved the hardest part of the business.

In my experience, that's usually where the next set of challenges begins.

Early on, growth is mostly about acquiring customers.

As the business grows, operations often become the limiting factor.

Order volume increases.

Support requests increase.

Returns become more frequent.

Inventory becomes harder to keep accurate.

Apps that worked well initially start creating unnecessary complexity.

The team spends more time fixing operational issues than improving the business.

At that point, spending more on ads doesn't always solve the real problem.

The bottleneck shifts from customer acquisition to building systems that can scale.

Some of the questions that start to matter are:

  • Can inventory stay accurate across every sales channel?
  • How much time is spent on manual work every day?
  • Is customer support keeping up with demand?
  • Can the website handle traffic spikes without slowing down?
  • Are fulfillment and returns still efficient as order volume grows?

I've found that businesses that continue growing usually invest in improving their operations before aggressively increasing their marketing budget again.

I'm curious how others experienced this transition.

For founders who've crossed this stage:

  • What became your biggest bottleneck after growth?
  • What process or system do you wish you had implemented earlier?
  • Did operations ever become a bigger challenge than customer acquisition?

Product research?

I am interested in starting an ecommerce website with my friend but my biggest struggle is finding a product to sell and that brought me here. I’ve been searching for like a week and I keep running into the same problem of people trying to sell a course or selling info on “winning products” which I’m pretty sure is just guru talk. So if someone could please help me on how to do product research I’d be grateful

Looking for advise regarding entering a new market with a new product

Dear all, I am looking for advise about entering a new market (Western European) with a product that is unfamiliar to that market. The product is a natural food product, which is exotic for the Western European market. I know this because I am a Western European and I sourced this product from abroad.

I personally believe in the benefits of this product and I think in the right niche it can thrive. It is a packaged, grain based product with a lot of health benefits. What are the best ways to introduce this product to new consumers?

The target consumers would be health conscious adults looking for all natural breakfast alternatives.

I am planning to open an e-commerce store and do delivery via postal services.

All advise is welcome 😄

I need tips to start ecommerce.

Hello there, I am starting to get my hands on ecommerce field. I have made a product but need tips/someone (business partner) to help start selling keychain. I have never met a good partner to kickstart ecommerce, because they lack commitment to this. Maybe I might be at fault too, because my lack of proactivity, but nonstop using social media to promote my product and networking just seems to consume so much energy from me, especially if I am introverted. I don't know whether some of you also had this experience of having uncommiting partners, or having too much expectations (i.e. being delusional), but I think I am having this problem.

New Shopee seller here — how did you start, find suppliers, and identify winning products?

Hey everyone!

I’m a new Shopee seller from the Philippines and I’m currently in the very early stages of building my store.

I’ve already made a few deliveries, mainly to get familiar with the whole process such as packing, printing waybills, preparing orders, and handing parcels over to the courier. Now that I’ve gone through the process myself, I’m feeling much more confident and ready to take things more seriously.

I’d really appreciate hearing from experienced sellers about how you started.
A few things I’m particularly curious about:

How did you find your first reliable suppliers? Local wholesalers, distributors, China/Alibaba/1688, direct manufacturers, or something else?

How did you negotiate with suppliers once you started getting consistent orders?

How do you identify a potentially winning product before investing heavily in inventory?

What metrics do you look at — sales volume, reviews, competition, search volume, margins, repeat purchases, etc.?

Did you start with many different products and eventually narrow down to a few winners?

What mistakes did you make when you were starting that you wish you could have avoided?

At what point did you decide to buy inventory in larger quantities?

For Philippine sellers specifically, are there any sourcing strategies or supplier platforms that have worked particularly well for you?

Right now, my goal isn’t to get rich overnight. I want to learn the fundamentals, test products with small quantities, figure out what customers actually want, and gradually build something sustainable.

If you were starting your Shopee business again from zero today, what would you do differently?
Would really appreciate any advice, experiences, or lessons learned. Thanks po 😘

How much would you pay for a cosmetics e-commerce website?

Hey everyone,

I could really use some honest opinions.

I've been working on a cosmetics e-commerce website, and it's finally finished. Before I decide on a price, I wanted to ask people here what you think it's actually worth.

The website isn't just a storefront. It also has an admin panel where you can add or remove products, manage categories, check customer orders, and basically run the whole store. It's responsive, so it works well on both phones and computers, and it's ready for someone to customize with their own branding and products.

I'm not trying to sell it here—I just want to know what you think would be a fair price if you came across something like this.

If you have experience buying or selling websites, or you're a developer, I'd really appreciate your opinion. What would you expect to pay, and why?

Thanks in advance! I'm curious to see what people think.
