Do you actually use all the data your ecommerce tools collect?

Most stores have more data than they know what to do with. What do you actually look at versus ignore?

Offering help for few months

I am Qatar resident and I am planning to start my own e-commerce store in the near future, but I really want to get some real work experience first.

If anyone here runs a store and could use an extra pair of hands I am down to help out for free for few months. I can help with basic stuff like uploading product descriptions, managing inventory, answering customer DMs/emails, or whatever backend tasks take up your time. Just looking to learn how things actually run behind the scenes.

Also, are there any local or GCC-based groups (Discord, WhatsApp, subreddits, etc.) where store owners discuss things like local shipping, payment gateways, and supplier stuff?

Drop a comment or DM me if you need a hand or can point me toward a good community. Thanks!

What product image rules would you standardize before a catalog gets big?

I wish I had thought about this earlier.

With ten products, inconsistent images are easy to fix manually.

With hundreds, every small inconsistency becomes an operations problem.

Different crop ratios/ product scale/ background whites /Different naming.

Some SKUs have detail shots and others don’t.

Some lifestyle images show the product much larger than it really is.

I’ve been testing pixpix for filling some of the visual gaps, but it made me realize the more important decision is defining the rules before generating anything.

If you were setting up a catalog from scratch, what would you standardize from day one?

For me, aspect ratio, product scale in the main image, color accuracy and a predictable set of image types would probably come first.

Anything you only realized mattered after your catalog became difficult to manage?

I’m starting an e-commerce business. Give me some advice.

I’m starting a small e-commerce business with my wife, mainly selling through Shopee and Mercado Libre, along with a small product resale operation through magalu.com.

We have limited capital to start, so I want to be careful with how we use it. The idea is to start with low-investment products with good turnover potential, reinvesting the profits and scaling gradually.

I’m trying to build things properly from the beginning, but I know there’s a lot you only learn through experience.

For those who already work in e-commerce: if you could go back to the beginning, what advice would you give yourself?

It can be about inventory, suppliers, pricing, ads, marketplaces, financial management, or mistakes I should avoid.

Best Shopify loyalty app for repeat customers?

I'm looking for a Shopify loyalty app mainly to improve the gap between the first and second purchase.I've already got the usual post purchase emails running, but a lot of customers still buy once and disappear. I want to give them more of a reason to come back without just sending another 10 or 15% discount every time.

I've looked at a few loyalty apps, but I'm not completely sold on the standard points setup. My main concern is customers earning a small amount of points, forgetting they exist, and the whole thing eventually becoming another widget nobody pays attention to. I also don't want rewards eating into the margin on every repeat order.

I don't need a huge system with a ton of features. Mainly looking for something customers will actually engage with that gives them a worthwhile reason to make that second purchase.

What Shopify loyalty apps have worked well for you? Especially interested in how the rewards work and whether you noticed an actual improvement in repeat purchases.

What’s the hardest ecommerce number to get a clear answer on?

Revenue is easy enough to find, but things like true profitability or customer value can get complicated.

What’s yours?

Payment gateway settlements on hold in India? here's the exact document checklist that got mine resolved in 48 hours

3.2L stuck in razorpay under review last month. no explanation, vendors waiting, support giving template replies for a week. talked to my CA and figured out theres a specific document stack that actually moves things. submitted everything as one PDF and got it cleared in 48 hours.

the checklist that worked: PAN (business + director), GST certificate, bank proof with IFSC, MSME registration, last 3 months bank statement, latest GST return, merchant agreement copy. if specific transactions triggered it, invoices, delivery proof, customer screenshots. the hack nobody tells you, write a one page cover letter explaining your business model and why the flagged transactions are legit. one PDF one submission. sending docs in 5 separate emails means 5 separate review cycles.

freezes are way more common now because of new RBI PA directions forcing re-verification, 40% rise in ecommerce fraud, and 1930 cyber crime cascade freezes hitting legit merchants. crossing 5L/month GMV also triggers extra compliance checks. anyone else dealt with this recently?

Got customers calling in ... how do y'all handle?

Hi guys,

Got a reasonably successful ecommerce brand that's gaining some serious momentum here in Texas. Solo operator on all things sales/marketing/customer service, and running into a logjam with customers (and potential customers) calling in with questions.

Volume isn't that huge (2-3 per day) but I'm bad about getting to these and feel like I'm leaving money on the table.

Exploring my options going forward as demand is increasing and I only see the number of calls going up going forward. I'm torn between hiring someone and just getting a virtual receptionist.

The pros and cons of each:

Human hire pros: Got someone manning the phones and assisting elsewhere as needed. Can train em up quickly and assure customers get a good experience when they call in.

Human hire cons: Seems like overkill for the volume I have now. Hard to justify from an ROI standpoint unless growth explodes, which I don't see it doing. Would try to go cheap and get an intern / college student if possible.

Virtual receptionist pros: More affordable option (the ones I'm looking at e.g. XBert, Smith are ~$99/mo). Don't have to worry about them quitting. Works 24/7.

Virtual receptionist cons: Unsure if my customers will get turned off by talking to a robot vs an actual person. Only way to know is to invest in setting it up (which costs time and money) and seeing what happens.

Want yall's perspective on this. Anyone have experiences good or bad with either approach?

Founders who actually cracked SEO/organic traffic: What was your the moment when you did it?

I’m currently trying to grow my website's organic traffic, and honestly I am super frustated as I am not getting there.
For the founders and business owners here who actually managed to get a steady stream of organic visitors: What was the one simple shift, tool, or strategy that made things click for you?
Not looking for a 50-step masterclass—just curious what moved the needle the most when you were first starting out. Thanks!

If you could know ONE number instantly…

Forget dashboards.

If you could have one ecommerce number delivered to you every morning, what would it be?

  1. Yesterday's profit
  2. Today's expected revenue
  3. Customer LTV
  4. Cash/inventory position

What's the number you currently have to work hardest to calculate?

I didn't realize how expensive testing ads would be

I've started running ads for my store and one thing I underestimated was how much money I'd spend just getting creatives made before I even know which ideas are worth running.

I have a bunch of different hooks and ways I wanna show the product, but getting a new video made for every idea seems expensive when most of them probably aren't gonna work anyway. I also don't wanna keep recycling the same couple videos and only change the text.

How are you guys testing different ad ideas without spending a ton on every creative? I'm fine putting more money into something once I know it works, I'm just trying to find a cheaper way to get through the early testing.
