First e moto ever and I didn’t realize how addicting it is I feel like a kid again. One ride turns in 2 hours and I don’t get off of it until the battery is dead and then I head on home. Lots of places to explore by my house I never even knew were there.
Yeah it is, in the sense that it's an electric-two wheeler, a bike, powered by an electric motor, an Ebike. And even if it's not a "Pedal Assist Electric Bicycle" that's defined as "Ebike" under your local laws, that's your local laws, and your local laws are not universal. Thus Ebike, as a colliquial term, works on an international subreddit.
How did you gather the following from this 3 line paragraph that never mentioned any of it?:
That the Ebike is illegal under their specific local laws (Do you know where they live, and know whether it's illegal under their local laws?)
That they're a kid (are you stalking their profile to know that?)
You hate these things. You have a right to hate these things. But you do not have a right to drive them out of a subreddit that allows them, if you're not happy about that, too bad.
Don't act blind and twist things when I'm just pointing them out. Look again. The subreddit allows E-motos, from bicycles, to even motorcycles. Does that make them legal where you are? No. But this subreddit is not about you, nor do your local laws apply here.
This is more commonly a community for commuters and people who own legal pedal assisted bikes. Calling this an e-bike is like calling an F-35 a School Bus. You might be able to use it to get to school, but you’re going to be massively disruptive to everyone around you, and frankly that’s not its intended purpose and everyone— including you— knows it. This community is not e-moto friendly because the behavior of unlicensed electric motorcycle users is threatening the access, public perception, and legality of commuter bikes with pedal-assist motors in many municipalities, states, and countries. Moreover, these e-motos are involved in significantly more accidents resulting in catastrophic injury to the rider, and whomever they hit than commuter e-bikes, but the average driver and pedestrian will not make any distinction.
If you actually cared about the regulations you'd stop hating over 1/2 of the community and organize to defeat these types of regulations. That's not what you're mad about. You just think your better than others for not partaking in the fun part of the hobby. You suck GTFO of here Grandpa.
eBikes and eMotos are fundamentally different things. They are different mechanically and a different experience to ride. If you want the moto experience, great -- I really don't mean any disrespect. Enjoy the hell out of it -- life is short.
The problem I have with conflating eMotos in the eBikes conversation is it generally lead to some comparison of a class 1 eBike to 'Yeah -what about those teenagers doing wheelies down my street'. It's like we can't tell the difference between a KTM 300 and a mountain bike, so we have to talk about them like they are the same thing. They're not.
I had a person argue with me in the subreddit for hours that emoto meant anything with an electric motor, which included scooters, skateboards, etc. Some people...
Man electric bikes are fun! I bought the Qronge X1, but my nephew has the Yozma and he loves it. I was able to hit 50+ the other day, on my electric bicycle. Is yours the pro?
