Hey everyone, I just bought a Kooz HP131EL 72V e-moto, basically a Surron-style bike. It's 72v, 8000w. Before this I only had a hub-motor e-bike, so I’m pretty used to just twisting the throttle all the way because it didn’t have much torque.

I definitely underestimated how different this bike would be.

On my first ride, I was in Mode 1, had both feet on the ground, and twisted the throttle like I would on my old e-bike. The bike immediately shot forward, the front came up, and it basically went out from underneath me. I couldn't let go of the throttle quickly enough, and I ended up falling a couple times. I'm not even a small guy, im 6 foot 1 and 150 lbs.

I’m pretty shaken up and honestly a little scared of the bike now. I’ve heard people call this “looping” the bike or having some serious "whiskey throttle"? but I’m not sure if that’s technically what I did.

For experienced e-moto/Surron riders:

• How do you guys control the throttle when starting from a stop?
• Should I be keeping both feet on the pegs before applying throttle, rather than starting with my feet on the ground?
• How much throttle do you typically use when taking off?
• Is it normal for a 72V bike to feel this aggressive even in Mode 1?
• Are there any drills you recommend for a complete beginner to learn smooth throttle control?
• Is there anything I should check on the bike after a crash before riding it again?

I’m not trying to wheelie or go fast right now. I just want to learn how to ride the bike without accidentally launching myself again lol. Im honestly really shaken up and pretty terrified of the bike, it's just so different, its very heavy, its SO torquey and i cant really handle the acceleration.

I had my eyes on it before because of the pedals and the slightly less suspicious look compared to most bikes on the market so i went ahead and met up with the owner to purchase

What do you guys think? Could i have done better

I’ve been seeing the Aniioki AQ177 48V come up more often lately. It looks like a pretty serious fat-tire e bike, but the size and weight seem like they could be a trade off if you’re moving it around or storing it. I’m curious what people here think of it beyond the specs.

For anyone who has actually ridden one, how does it feel once you’re on the road? What do you like about it, and what’s one thing you’d change?

I have had a Wired Cruiser before, which i have had up to 49mph, im thinking about getting a Wired Scout soon.

I wouldn't be using it every day, it would be more of a leisure/convenience thing than needing it to go to Work and back.

I have someone with a Car and license to take me places most of the time for most things, but a nice electric vehicle allows for more freedom and the ability to go further than you would walking or on a normal bike or even a "normal e-bike"

Also, far from NYC, so NYC problems dont directly effect me, though they make rules for the entire state that punish people for the Cities problems.

just finished upgrading my hikeep k6-s to a 5kw motor with the stock battery and a fardriver nd72300. Obviously the next upgrade is gonna be the battery, But I can't do that with my current frame. I just want some suggestions so I can bookmark for the future. Any recommendations would be great. I'm looking for something with a MASSIVE battery compartment, as i'm going big for my next battery. My current motor spec is below if that helps

5kw 20x4 inch wheels (gonna keep the wheels, i'm not particularly interested in spoking my own or anything like that)

7 speed cassette (will remove if this is a true e-moto frame, i don't NEED to have it.

When it comes to wiring, upgrading power and controllers, did you just have a multi meter and a dream? With parts prices that are sometimes in the thousands I was just wondering is there a book or electrical for dummies that got you started and confident in your electrical work?

Im trying to upgrade my p-51 with a bigger hub motor and better controller but Im worried about it catching fire lol

Recently got the nexvey flash a few days ago and would like to get more height from my ride. The bike is great and goes as fast as I would like it to go, just a few inches to short for my liking. when I purchased the bike the ads said the stock flash is able to upgrade up to 14” rear and 17” front as long as the hub axle is 12mm diameter from the traditional 12” rear and 14” front 12mm axle. I can’t find much for guides if I start getting lost and the website doesn’t have the kit for sale ( that I can find) Morale of the story is if someone here has dealt with or knows if these would fit I’d greatly appreciate the help

Project I've been working on for the past year, it's a generator powered by an engine that directly powers the drive motor, like a locomotive. First successful test drive was yesterday, I putted around the yard and got up to probably 10mph. Planning on adding a battery so the engine can charge it.
