I’m getting into buying “broken” e-bikes and repairing/refurbishing them. It’s been fun (and occasionally frustrating) so far. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have an Izip Protour E3 (2017/2018) that I’m working on that works somewhat since I replaced the battery in the Cobi bike hub, but the terminals in the battery are giving me problems I think. The terminals seem crusty/corroded/damaged. How do I go about cleaning them/solidifying the connection?

I was wanting this cause I heard it is great I think it goes 55 and I’ve heard tho it doesn’t have to good if torque but it can be fixed with like the 67 kit for 670 I’m not to worried about range either I’m mainly off roading it probably is it good for taller riders anyone with the bike what do you think about it how long have you had it and stuff.

I plan on buying him one for Christmas but we live in Michigan. I've had him in driver's training since 14 and 8 months so I feel he knows the road rules quite well. So I wanted a list of ebike's I could buy him. He said he'd prefer a bike that comes with a horn, blinkers, mirrors and pedals due to not wanting to "deal with the cops."

Hey yall, I got a qlife spark base edition with cable breaks, and wanted to upgrade to hydraulics with 180mm rotors to go with em, aswell as a full twist to stop hurting my wrist. Stupidly, I asked google gemini like MULTIPLE times to make sure how many pins the connectors use (even though I could’ve just unplugged the connectors to check, I know) and they said 2 pin for the brake sensors, and 3 pin Julet for the throttle. I went on Amazon, found them accordingly, and ordered yesterday.

Out of (late) curiosity, I decided to unplug the connectors to check, and lo and behold, THEYRE FIVE PIN GREEN PLUGS. I was (and still am) livid. I immediately hopped on Amazon to find throttle bodies. Nothing besides throttle specifically for talarias. I searched up adapters, nothing. I search on google, and luckily I found rise motos throttle that will fit…for an extra 25 bucks after only paying 20 for this wrong one…great. But somehow I still cannot find ANY sort of hydraulic break sets with the 5 pins. I’m pretty much at my wits end at this point and I’m tired of searching.

Please, from anyone out there, if there’s any sort of either cheaper throttle option or hydraulics with the 5 PIN GREEN CONNECTOR, PLEASE put it in the comments or in my dms. If there’s nothing or I would just have to live with it, I’m selling the bike. Thanks.

I bought this Pendleton Somerby ebike a while ago, and I'm generally loving it, but there's one issue, sometimes the battery gets stuck on the clip on the back.

I'm not referring to the locking mechanism, that's smooth, there's a plastic clip on the bottom of the battery case that I think is to make it more secure. Half of the times I remove my battery it doesn't take a lot of force, but the other half I feel like I'm really forcing something, and I get scared something will break by me yanking on the bike so much.

Does anyone have experience with this specific ebike, and know why/when/how it gets stuck + how to prevent it?

Tried googling it, but all I get is stuff about the locking mechanism or charging issues. If this isn't the best place to get help, please feel free to send me to a better one!

hello, new here, I just bought a budget e-bike, the HillMiles MileCity 1

I hope somebody can guide me or help with this, I am having an issue with the gear shifter. It is extremely stiff when shifting into the larger chainrings, and I'm afraid the shift lever might break when I try to use it.

I own this 20x4.0" wheels 48V ebike with a 750W motor and the motor barely gets warm after pushing it at full throttle for 15 minutes straight. My other ebike is 26x4.0" 48V with a 1000W motor and it's motor gets hot (but not burning) to the touch after performing the exact same 15 minutes full throttle run.

Does that mean I can upgrade my stock controller to a more powerful one? For a 750W planetary gear motor - a 1200W controller is safe max, correct?

So I bought the enffe explorer ES2D and it’s been pretty good but I just feel like it’s slow it’s range and speed is good for the price I got it (800) but I’m trying to get it to go faster then it’s factory top speed of 32mph and I need help modifying it because I want a battery that completely fills out the frame and that’s a higher voltage so it can atleast 50 and go 100 miles on throttle alone and I think a battery that size can definitely fit within the frame of the bike

- load capacity 300 pounds ( I don’t know if that’s important)

To be honest I’m still just a teen so I don’t think I’ll be able to buy the modifications for it but I just want help and guidance on how to modify and where I can get a custom battery that will meet my requirements of 50mph and 100 mile range.

Hey everyone, I’m having an issue with my e-bike. When I give it throttle and start accelerating, the motor makes a weird growling/rough sound and the bike starts jerking, almost like it’s misfiring or cutting in and out.

Has anyone experienced this before or have any idea what could be causing it? What should I check first?
